Me and Luke first went to 2000 trees festival for a day back in 2018 and we’ve never looked back. So 2024 saw our fourth time doing the full weekend and every time I go back I’m reminded why it’s my favourite festival.
As I sit down to write this post I’ve been back from site for about five days but I still have the tan lines and burnt nose to show for it. I wanted to reflect on the festival and talk about why it’s my favourite, but this post from 2022 pretty much sums it up.
Here are some of my highlights and standouts from the weekend.
The festival runs Thursday- Saturday and a standard ticket means you can only enter the morning of the first day of music. But for the past few years we’ve paid extra to rock up on the Wednesday and it’s the best decision.
We turned up about half an hour before the gates open meaning we got to pick a great camping spot. Unlike a lot of festivals we only had a 15(ish) minute walk to drag our stuff from the car right to our tent. And because the site is so small we were about a five minute walk away from the stages. Meaning if we wanted to head back between bands for a sit down and a drink we could.
2000 trees have continued to make Wednesday super special with a load of bands playing across two stages. A personal highlight was watching The Xcerts play the entirety of their album ‘There is only you’ which turns 10 this year.
There’s no denying the magic of The Forest stage at 2000 trees. Nestled in between a woodland of trees the stage looks like a large cabin and has some of the best acoustics I’ve heard at a festival.
This year I didn’t spend very much time at this stage due to other bands I wanted to see, but everything I saw here was great. Shout out to two of my top three acts, Liam Cromby and Thumpasaurus. Both very different vibes, but both excellent.
The stage used to be solely for acoustic sets and had a more chilled vibe, but in later years it’s had a bit of a mixture.
Considering it’s size (less than 15,000 people) the site manages to pack a punch with their food options. It’s not just your standard burger vans and pizza stalls, I genuinely had some of the best food over our four days.
I had Korean fried chicken and rice, cheese toasties, an epic fish finger sandwich and the best beef taco’s I’ve ever had. I could have eaten three massive meals a day and still not tried all the dishes and stalls I had my eyes on!
I love love love outdoor festivals, they’re so much fun. The forest stage is amazing, wow!!! I would love to experience this wonderful festival, hopefully next year.
That is just about the best setting for a music festival I’ve ever seen. I feel like there are gnomes in the background just jamming.
It is such an awesome vibe! x
What a cool spot for a music festival! I love the idea of jamming out to great music in the middle of Mother Nature’s beauty.
I do love a festival, it is always great when you can find one that you are happy to go back to year after year! 2000 Trees sounds amazing, one that I will definitely have to look up.
What a perfect setting for a music festival. I’ve never been to this type of open-concert event before. I usually go for fast and loud music, so if ever I attend, this must be perfect for me.
I have only been to a handful of festivals in my life, but I have found for me, they never did well with the food! It sounds like I really need to check out this festival, based on your food comment. 🙂
Food is such an important thing for me at a festival. I want to eat good things if I’m going to be there for 3/4/5 days x
Wow! What a cool thing to do and such a fun experience. It looks like a lot of fun!
