Saying Goodbye To The Summer – September 2025 Overview

October 2, 2025

It’s been another crazy month with Scarlett firmly out of the newborn phase. September 2025 is probably the month that has been the most ‘normal’ for me, even though we have a new normal. I’ve had a few gigs, some evenings with friends, and just a really good balance. I feel like I’ve been able to enjoy all the time with Scarlett and how she’s developing, but I’ve still been me.

The fact that we’re in October now though is vaguely frightening. Christmas is coming round quickly (and I’m not even sorry for saying it). I hope this year will be magical for Scarlett even though she won’t understand what’s going on.

Here’s how the month shaped up for me.

What I got up to in September 2025

I’ve had a really lovely month catching up with friends, both with Scarlett and solo. And I have seen my family more over the month because I want them to experience the magic of Scarlett while she’s little too. It’s even more special as she now as a little cousin as my brother and sister-in-law had their baby during the month too.

Scarlett at Lindy Lou's baby glow class

We started doing some baby classes including baby massage and sensory glow. The massage classes have been really nice as I’ve been able to chat to the other mums and also learn some useful skills. And then Scarlett seems to really enjoy the sensory glow classes, although they’re only half an hour so go by pretty quickly. She had her 12 week jabs at the start of the month and we have her 16 week ones in the coming days.

Me and Luke had a lovely day in the middle of the month where we headed to a spa for massages and a morning/ early afternoon of relaxation. We even managed to squeeze in a really yummy meal at Prezzo in Stevenage as well.

What I watched and read

During September 2025 I managed a theatre show and three gigs. For the show I headed to Milton Keynes to see Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief on tour.  Having read the book and watched the newest TV show I think the show did a pretty good job, but there was a lot to cram in so some elements felt a little bit rushed. But overall it was very fun.

Me and Luke had a date night out seeing the Vitamin String Quartet who do classical versions of modern music. They’ve done the music that’s appeared in Bridgerton, and we used a lot of their music at our wedding so that was incredible. Then I had two arena shows during the month starting with Busted vs McFly which was really fun, full of all the massive hits. Then near the end of the month I saw Pierce the Veil at Wembley which was such a great show, they’re made for bigger venues.

TV wise I’ve been watching the last series of Love is Blind US, it’s nothing special but I can leave it on while I’m with Scarlett and it doesn’t matter if I don’t pay attention. We’ve been watching the latest series of Bake Off and I love the cast this season.

Favourite books of September 2025

I had a really good reading month with 11 books and my favourites were:

Things I’ve been loving

During the month I had my first tattoos since being pregnant with Scarlett and I’m so happy with what I got. One of them is my little nod to our little one with a chicken nugget as we called her nugget throughout my pregnancy.

Disco ball tattoo

This one may seem a bit rogue, but I’ve been loving the B&M app. On the app you can scan the barcodes of products in store to get up-to-date pricing as the shelves aren’t always right. There’s so much stock staff don’t always have time to re-price everything. And because of this I’ve managed to get a bunch of really good bargains including some kids aqua mats for £1 instead of £12, a little safari chair for Scarlett for £4 instead of £18, a pop up laundry basket for £1.50 instead of £6 and an over the bath airer for £1.50 instead of £10. The list of bargains goes on. It’s been a fun little challenge to find items, but I’ve only been picking up things I need or things for Scarlett I can put away.

Hows your September 2025 been? What have you been up to?

It can be great to join in baby classes with other mums. You get to learn loads and also it’s a great way to get out and socialise so you’re not stuck indoors all day on your own with a baby. I found it a great way to make friends.

My GF loves that reality TV show stuff like Love is Blind. I let her enjoy it while I fiddle on my phone. LOL.

I love that photo taken at the sensory glow – it is so sweet. I took my kids to a few different classes – a long time ago now. I would have loved this. Sounds like you had a great month.

Scarlett is such a cutie and it is scary how quickly they grow. Congratulations on becomming an Aunt. I do keep meaning to look at the B&M app as we are always in there.
