Reflecting And Feeling Thankful

January 3, 2016
sparkles
Having touched down on UK soil literally a few hours ago I thought it was about time to start 2016 with a bang (plus I had a few hours to kill in a Moroccan airport during my connecting flights earlier!) Firstly let’s get a statement out of the way ‘How the bloody hell is it 2016 already?!’ Where the hell did 2015 go?! Now I’ve had a little sob about how life flashing before my eyes I can forget about it (or try!)

Secondly hope you all had an awesome Christmas and indulged in too much food with your loved ones, I know I did. Like every other year I got super spoilt by those closest to me and I am thankful for absolutely everything. It was so nice to spend a few days with just my family doing Christmassy things, getting merry and seeing who could eat the most (I am hoping I won as I gave it a bloody good go!)

January can be a tough month for many people as you might be feeling a little poor and over partied but it’s a great time to reflect on the festivities passed and look forward. 2015 for me was an awesome year in a lot of aspects but I want 2016 to kick last year’s butt. How weird is it to think 2015 was last year?! Mental.

This post just seems like a bit of a ramble and I’m not quite sure the real point of it but there you go sometimes that’s just like life, you begin on a journey with a destination and idea in mind and it doesn’t quite come into being. I don’t make traditional style resolutions because I think it puts a lot of pressure on yourself and if you want to do something do it whether it’s December, January or August. I like to think about things I want to do or achieve but in 2016 I am going to make it my mission to reconnect with as many friends, acquaintances and family members as I can because it’s the people around you which mean the most.

What are your plans for 2016?

I think the whole resolution thing puts too much pressure on yourself and you should aim to do things when ever you want x

This is a lovely post. January can be such a blue month. My birthday is the 20th so I get through the start of the month by getting through that, obviously not something that will work for anyone though :/
