Dream Wishlist For An Adults Only Escape

pinterest library

Over the past few month’s I’ve been staring lovingly at Pinterest images of people’s lovely looking homes and me and my boyfriend have even looked online to see what properties there are available at the moment to know what we might be able to afford one day.

We have quite strong ideas in our minds of what we want in the house, and I know realistically we won’t get everything we want but I’m happy to spend longer looking in order to find the perfect space. I would love a dressing room so that our wardrobes don’t sit all-around our website and my boyfriend would need a man cave as his escape to play games, use his 3D printer and just store all the manly things he has just airsoft guns and lightsabers which are admittedly pretty cool.

If money was no object I’d love to have my own relaxing space aside from my office where I’d work and do my blog/ freelance stuff in. An idea would be having an outhouse or shed but if I was doing it right it would be a properly built log cabin with electricity and all the amenities we’d need. Although a room indoors might end up being more practical, it would be somewhere that I could curl up and relax and do my own things inside.

I think I’d opt for engineered wood flooring but then layer it up with some soft fluffy rugs and some blankets so the room would be perfect for both summer and winter temperatures. Some things I’d love would be a library nook something with a big comfortable chair, great lighting and some floor to ceiling style bookshelves to keep all my books together.  I’d also love a massive projector and a super comfy sofa so we could have movie nights in complete with a popcorn maker and cold drinks dispenser as no movie is complete without snacks.

What would you love in an adults-only room?

Oh wow, I would really love a library. Then I could start buying more books without the need to get rid of a single one of mine x

O m goodness I have never thought of what I’d have… all my rooms are filled with kid stuff. I’d quite like a dressing room tho, where everything had its place

I would love to have an adult only room with just a bed. Sounds a little boring but not sharing my bed sounds unbelievable. 😀

A library is the ultimate dream! I’d kill for a little room with some huge chairs I could just while away the hours with a good book in.

Those bookshelves are AMAZING! I’ve built a large custom made bookshelf in our house, which is kinda nice. But yea, wouldn’t it be nice to have a place to escape.

Gosh! I can’t wait for an adult’s only escape again. Roll on our next break away without our daughter! I would LOVE an outhouse or shed to work in too!

I am slowly trying to do up our house and a dressing room/office is high on the list but the book cases and nooks look amazing x

I dream of my mine to be spacious with a large bed that I can roll around in. There should be a walk-in closet in there too..

I’d love a library! I’ve dreamed of my own since I was young! Haha. I’m thinking of converting our shed to an office/filming space, but it would have to be pretty well decked out. And warm! Can that engineered wood flooring come heated?!

  17. Rebecca says:

Oh for the chance to curl up in a cosy corner and get lost in a book! I think that’s all I’d need really, a super cosy corner, and lots of bookshelves. And maybe a fridge full of wine.. and chocolates. Oh, maybe with one of those freestanding baths in it too so I could have long hot bubble baths with my books, wine and chocolates. That’s not much to ask is it?!

Man Caves are overrated, its a lot more fun to sit and chat with your partner when they are home. You can always play a video or practice your Jedi skills when it is just you alone. Feel free to share this with the BF,Rhian

Oh I have always wanted a library! It would be the first thing I would do if I won the lottery. Buy a house big enough for a library. I love the one under the stairs. A very clever use of space.

  21. Rebecca | AAUBlog says:

I would love a proper office space, but like you, a separate space, like a converted shed perhaps would be lovely. On site but away from it all 🙂

  22. Folakemi says:

Love the idea of the library space would also love a walk in closet for my clothes shoes and makeup

  23. Jen says:

You have some lovely ideas. My own wishes are mostly to do with simply having more space. I’d love a library space, and an actual work station. We live in an older house, and it just wasn’t designed for modern living. I find the worst thing is finding space for the PC desk.

  24. Jazmin Williams says:

This sounds absolutely amazing! I’d love a work space, a bit of a library area and agreed with the projector and sofa.

  25. Kate says:

Loving your style and agree with you on the library nook

  26. Sheri says:

I have a walk in closet with a dressing room behind that, I love having space and our home designed as we want it.

  27. Super Busy Mum says:

Those bookshelves are EVERYTHING! I’d happily chill beside those with an endless selection of tea & biscuits!
