On Monday 18th I rounded off my year of comedy shows with a trip to Brixton to see Russell Brand with my best friend. It was a really fun show and Russell just seemed really caring about his fans.
On Tuesday 19th I headed to Bletchley for most of the day to see one of my friends and her two young kids and it was such a nice day to catch up with her but also see how much her kids have changed since I last saw them. After that, I headed straight into London and had a catch-up meal with two of my friends as a pre-Christmas treat.
On Thursday 21st I headed back to Brixton for my final gig of the year to see The Prodigy. It wasn’t the type of show I’d usually go to but my boyfriend is a massive fan but it was such a great show.
After a nice early finish from work on Friday 22nd I went to see Jumanji with my boyfriend and it was such a funny film. I remember the overall idea of the original film but nothing specific but this didn’t matter.
On Saturday 22nd I headed into London with my boyfriend and his sister to the Nightmare before Christmas sing-a-long showing and it was amazing to be in a room full of other people obsessed with the movie and it really got me in the Christmas spirit.
Five Great Things To Happen
I started writing up my 2018 goals and working out achievable chunks of how I am going to manage these goals and what I need to do in January. It’s amazing how much better things feel when you’ve done a brain dump and have it all written down.
I got a random text a week before Christmas from my boyfriend saying that he had booked a restaurant for our Valentines Day meal as he didn’t want to risk it booking up. I don’t know where we’re going but I love how romantic he can be and how much he thinks about me and us as a couple.
Me and my boyfriend booked a lovely hotel for a quick two-night break in Luxembourg in February 2018 and I am so excited as not only is it a trip away but it will be my 30th country I’ve visited.
I was well and truly spoilt at Christmas by my boyfriend, his family and my own family and I got some lovely presents including a Rose Gold Skagen Watch and a Fit Bit Flex 2 with the rose gold bangle.
I had my second New York collaboration approved for our trip in March which is with the Big Bus Tour company. I absolutely love going on hop on, hop off bus tours and can’t wait to experience it in NY.
Five Things Which Sucked
I started to get a really bad cough before Christmas and it did my head in and seemed to take such a long time to shift even though it probably wasn’t as long as I thought.
That I didn’t spend Christmas Day with my boyfriend. We decided to spend it at home with our parents separately this year but we’ve already said 2018 we want to be together.
I always find the days between Christmas and New Year to be a bit strange as there’s always a bit of a comedown after Christmas period but things aren’t quite back to normal yet with the new year.
I have been eating far more than normal over the past week or two so I know my first weigh-in of 2018 will not be a good one but I just need to put that behind me and start afresh.
Despite writing and sorting a few posts before Christmas I didn’t do a lot of blog work over the break and I now feel a tiny bit behind so I’m going to need to knuckle down over the next week to get back on track.
Five Things To Do Next Week
Get straight back into my fitness routine now it’s the new year and make sure I am doing at least a few things a week to get back into some sort of health kick.
Redo my CV in a Canva template as my own is starting to look a bit dated and isn’t overly user-friendly when it comes to me editing it.
Sort out mine and my boyfriend’s ESTA’s in advance of our trip to New York in March time. It’s my boyfriends very first time going to America so I am super excited for him.
Start working on a list of blog collaborations and achievements that I’d love to do in 2018 and just put myself out there a bit more. The worst a brand can say is no.
Start making a file of loads of healthy recipes which I want to try out for when I’m stuck for food inspiration.
The ‘Nightmare before Christmas’ singalong sounds superb:) My week has been a little more straightforward.
Get to France -> Snowboard for a week -> stay alive -> get back to England.
A French Christmas.
I love reading these lists – I think they are such a good idea! Love that you saw all those different types of show so close together – the sing along, Russell Brand and Prodigy! Happy 2018 to you.
How awesome does a Nightmare Before Christmas sing-a-long sound, I bet that was amazing being a room with people who all love such an awesome movie. Good luck with your blog collabs for 2018, I hope you have some amazing ones come your way.
A lovely way to summarise what’s happening! I used to live in Bletchley, as a child/teen!
Good luck with weigh in and getting back into fitness etc, I’m in the same boat! Scared to dig the scales out!

I would love to see Russell brand. He isn’t just funny, but so intelligent too. I have a cough too – seems like a lot of people do 🙁
Those days between Christmas and New Year always seem to blend into one for me, it is even weirder with Monday being 1st January.

First of all, your boyfriend sounds like a keeper!
I haven’t done much to be honest. Christmas was a bit of a washout as we all had norovirus but I’m excited by the fresh start that the new year offers
Sounds like you had a fun and busy build up to Christmas! How lovely that your boyfriend is already planning a romantic Valentine date for you 🙂
I really want to see Jumanji – it looks a bit like raiders of the lost ark. I’ve told the kids we’re going!
I’m not a fan of the Crimbo limbo, either. I seem to be just waiting for the New Year the day after Boxing Day! And speaking of the New Year, I wish you guys all the very best for 2018 🙂
