Pre- Christmas Sephora Sale Haul

December 21, 2017

I have a bit of a problem when it comes to makeup and Sephora especially, whenever I go to America I spend crazy amounts of money on products. Ever since booking yet another trip to New York for March 2018 I had put myself on a makeup spending ban which was going pretty well until an email popped into my inbox about 10 days before Christmas about the Sephora sale.

I thought I’d have a look but I didn’t think I’d buy anything as pre-Christmas sales never tend to be that amazing but I was so shocked at how many amazing products, sets, and brands were included in the sale and once I saw not one, not two but three of the items in my loved list on sale I knew I had to make a purchase.

Even with the rubbish exchange rate, shipping costs and the taxes I still saved quite a bit of money on this bundle and it arrived in about 5 days from America which always amazes me. So I thought I’d show you all the six items that I picked up in the sales.

Sephora Lip Products

Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liner Trio – Was $38 – Cost Me £21.31

This set comes with three full-sized lip liners from Kat Von D’s latest collection and as it was reduced by $11 it ended up costing me not a huge amount more than a single lip liner here would cost. Inside there are three of the nude shades; Lolita, Hawkwind and Homegirl and the great thing is that I was going to purchase Hawkwind next time I was in Debenhams which would have cost me £16 alone so I got a very good deal on this set.

I am so happy with this set as the liners are such good quality as they’re so creamy and sit so well on the lips.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Trouble (Holiday Edition) – Was $20 – Cost Me £9.47

I’ve always shouted the praises of the ABH liquid lipsticks as I think they’re such good quality but there’s nowhere in the UK which stocks them for me to go and swatch the shades and I hate blindly buying online so this is why I stocked up when I went to New York last year and came home with a massive wishlist of shades.

Despite not blindly buying when I saw how reduced the lipsticks were I couldn’t help buying one so I opted for the holiday edition as I knew it would be something unique I wouldn’t be able to pick up in March when I’m Stateside. It’s a pretty muted pink matte shade which is perfect for a bit of colour without going overboard.

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Illuminating Moisturizer – Was $34 – Cost me £13.42

Ever since buying my very first item from First Aid Beauty last summer I have been obsessed with it so when this illuminating moisutizer showed up in the sale section I thought it was a great chance to try out another item from them.

I actually don’t own an illuminated moisturizer and it is something that I am missing from my collection from those days where I want something on my face but I don’t want to go all out and wear foundation. On first try, it has a very light feel to it but provides a good sheen to my face so I’m pretty happy with my impulse purchase.

Sephora Collection Micellar Cleansing Water & Milk – Was £7.50 – Cost me £3.16

I bought the Charcoal – purifying & detoxifying water when I was in Paris earlier this year as I wanted to try something from their Charcoal range and I have to say I was really impressed with it so when I finished my travel sized bottle just a few days before the Sephora sale I thought it was fate.

I find a lot of micellar cleansing waters don’t pick up all of my eye makeup, even a lot of the more expensive ones but this one has done really well considering it’s not overly high end, although for the price of this small bottle it is a bit more than I’d usually spend but it’s a good travel item.

TARTE Limited-Edition Buried Treasure Eyeshadow Palette – Was $36 – Cost me £19.73

From the second I saw this eyeshadow palette on the Sephora website I knew I needed to own it because just look at those shades!

I’ve never owned a Tarte palette although strangely enough I ordered another one from the brand later the same day *oops* but this palette is just perfect. To begin with, it’s the perfect size for travelling as you get 10 different shades in there but it’s not bulky like a lot of larger palettes. Usually, when I go away I end up taking just one or two single shadows as I don’t have space for much more but this solves that problem.

I’ve only used it a few times but the powders are slightly creamy which means the shades have been really easy to blend and there’s such a good mixture of neutral matte shades and shimmer shades so it’s good for daytime and evening wear.

Becca Apres Ski Glow Collection: Eye Lights Palette – Was $45 – Cost me £17.76

This is another palette which I’ve been lusting over for months so to see it half priced on the Sephora site I knew it wasn’t going to go down lower than that. There are seven stunning shades housed in the circular case and it’s based on the iconic highlighters that the brand are famous for and the shades are a mixture of satin and shimmer shades.

Again like the Tarte palette it’s limited edition and there are five shades based on the highlighter shades; Pearl, Rose Quartz, Moonstone, Opal, and Topaz, alongside two holiday-inspired shades; Toasted Marshmellow and Hot Cocoa all of which are stunning. There is such a mixture of shades from the super bright shades to the deeper darker shades so it really is a palette for everyone.
