OOTD: Valentines Day Outfit With A Spice Of Disney

EMP Dress

Up until this moment I have never done an outfit of the day post, sure I did a post about a (fake) leather jacket I was obsessed with last year, and I’ve done a few wishlists but never have I allowed my body and my face to be included in a ‘fashion’ shot. Part of the reason for this is because I never considered myself fashionable and my clothing just not interesting enough to feature on my blog, but also it’s a self-conscious thing, I know I’m larger and I know sometimes clothes don’t look the same on me as they do on slimmer people. 2018 is the year I am trying to change my perception of myself and push myself out of my comfort zone so I present to you my very first outfit of the day post.

I’m not usually a dress person but casual dresses are totally different as they can feel far less restrictive than a more formal dress and they’re so easy to wear over a pair of leggings and some ankle boots which is exactly what I did here.

Now one thing I’m going to say straight out is that I am not 100% happy with these images, I took them on two seperate occassions as these were the best of a bad bunch, next time I promise to do better.

EMP Disney Dress

For me I think this would be the perfect Valentines Day outfit if I was going out for the day or perhaps doing an activity, and I know that me and my boyfriend are heading for a weekend in Luxemburg just before Valentines and this dress will be coming with me.

The dress is from EMP and is around knee length which for me is great as it means when it gets warmer it’s not too short to wear about without leggings or tights and the material is really forgiving and doesn’t hug too much to the areas I don’t really want to highlight. Now stripes are something I do love, even if people say they aren’t flattering on a fuller figure, and monochrome is my favourite.

Tale as old as time EMP dress

The thing which made me fall in love with this dress was that it has a beautiful Disney addition with a red rose and a Beauty and the Beast quote etched on the side, although the quoting isn’t in the best position for photos due to some appendages being a little in the way *oops*. One of the things I love the most about EMP is their diversity of sizes where most products come in all sizes across the board so whether you’re a small or a 3XL you’re covered, it makes me feel like I miss out less.
