On Monday evening me, Luke and a few friends headed to a lovely local pub to do the pub quiz. It was nice to have a bit of a catch up and we didn’t do too badly with the quiz itself.
On Wednesday evening I went to the cinema with my bestie to see Hotel Transylvania 3 and although it was a proper kids movie we really enjoyed it.
On Thursday evening me and Luke headed into London to the theatre to see Knights of the Rose which is out just for the summer and it was so good. I loved the song choices which included 80’s and 90’s rock tracks.
On Saturday me and Luke headed to Chelmsford for a day at Rize Festival and I had so much fun. I managed to see Rag’N’Bone man and Sean Paul for the first time alongside a bunch of other acts.
On Sunday I headed into London for a solo day in the city and I managed to visit so many places which had been on my wish list for a while such as Holland Park and the Japanese Gardens, ice cream at Soft Serve Society, Naked Dough and Columbia Flower Market.
Five Great Things To Happen
I’ve started looking at a spa weekend in Yorkshire for me and Luke’s anniversary in a few months. We had such a good time in York that we’d love to go back and combine it with a weekend of relaxation.
I’ve been driving Luke’s car more and getting more comfortable in an automatic. It’s amazing how much difference it has made to my confidence driving as I don’t have to worry about gears.
The final item I ordered to my US PO Box has arrived so I can finally ship the items out to me which I am so excited for as I have a Bath and Bodyworks order I can’t wait for.
We booked tickets to a local gin festival happening later in the year which is great after the one we were going to go to was cancelled.
I made a trip to Wilko and bought a whole load of storage items which are already helping out keep things tidy in the fridge and under our sink.
Five Things Which Sucked
I was convinced I was due to be paid just before bank holiday weekend but it turns out it’s the following week which is annoying as I’d worked out my budgets for then.
We had such a busy weekend that I didn’t get to catch up on much sleep so I’m starting the week already tired.
I know yet again I’ve overindulged in food, although I’ve been a bit better with my dinners so I am hoping that will be enough that I don’t put on weight this week.
Although I was much better at limiting my spending over the weekend I still spent a bit more than I had planned in my budgets.
I managed to lose one of my pairs of sunglasses which is annoying as it’s the pair I usually have sitting in my car.
Five Things To Do This Week
Call my insurance company and get some more information on how much it would be to insure myself on Luke’s car.
Do some research into house locations and work out a all the possible locations we could look in versus commute, ease of getting into London etc.
Lose any weight at Slimming World this week as I’ve really been losing focus with it lately.
Try and book mine and Luke’s anniversary weekend away so we have time to save for it.
Have you heard there’s a couple of bath and bodyworks meant to be opening in London? Or at least that’s what a friend told me. That should be interesting if it happens.
Sounds like you had a good week – hands up I love the Hotel Transylvania movies.
I went to see Hotel Transylvania 3 with my kids and thoroughly enjoyed it. Having done a cruise I saw real similarities to actual cruise lines (minus the monsters)
Oh no. I hate when I misplace my car sunglasses – I normally wear them into the house and realise after I’ve locked up and taken off my shoes. Hope they turn up soon.
It seem’s like you did a lot of good things for the past weeks but I am feel sorry for what happened to you in Luke’s car and I agree you better have an insurance for your protection.
Your weeks are always so busy, I don’t know how you fit so much in! It sucks when you think you’ve worked out your budget and then you realise you’re not being paid – happened to me a few months back!
It seems like you did quite a lot of stuff in last week, you all enjoyed well. Wish you same for this week too. I have heard Hotel Transylvania 3 is a good movie for kids, though I would love to watch it too. 😛
It sounds like you’ve had a busy week. Good for you for getting more confident at driving! I just bought insurance for my new car last week and ouch, it did hurt the budget.
Cinema and theatre are definitely up my street! Never been to a gin festival but it does sound fun! Unfortunately I’m saving as for a house so I’m currently holding onto my pennies! Boo x
I love how you take the time to reflect on what has happened, but you’re also looking forward to what’s on the horizon, I those are both incredibly important! That local gin festival seems like it’ll be pretty awesome!

The Spa weekend sounds great. I love Wilko, they have some pretty great stuff.
You’ve just reminded me that I need to sort out car insurance, ours is up for renewal and I need to get some quotes – plus book it in for an MOT.
