Other than a brief few teenage years I’ve always have quite dry skin, not so much that it’s flaky but where products cling to certain patches and my skin regularly looks and feels dehydrated. As I’ve been trying to improve my skincare game over the past few months I’ve been trying out a whole load of products to help get my skin in better condition and I thought I’d share with you some of my thoughts and celebrate a campaign Epaderm are running called #OneTwoFreeYourSkin
To start off with is the Bioskin collection from Salcura Skincare which is suitable for really dry skin including those with skin conditions such as Eczema. The collection is full of natural oils and the hero ingredient is Sea Buckthorn which contains 25 times more Vitamin C than orange.
The Bioskin Dermaspray* is a great easy to use product as you just spritz it onto your skin and it sinks into the skin straight away being absorbed deeper and quicker than cream ever can. The spray is really soothing on my skin as it deals with inflamed and sensitive skin so my redness does feel toned down after I use it constantly.
The collection comes complete with a Dermaserum for both face* and body*. The face serum is a great everyday moisturising serum which is perfect on my red cheeks as it’s so sensitive and the body cream is perfect for when I get dry patches on my skin. I do find that this collection is more suited to those with very dry skin as opposed to mine which is slightly more on the combination side but it’s a great product to have on hand.
I’m not a great person for using body butters or body moisturisers but they’re always good to have. I have been absolutely loving the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Lotion* (£3.99) for those times when my skin just needs a bit of an extra kick of moisture. This has particularly been the case with my newest tattoo, now I’d still use bepanthen over the first week or so of getting my tattoo but the Palmer’s lotion has been perfect for that period after it’s healed when it’s still a tiny bit dry, plus it smells absolutely amazing.
The Original Solid Formula Jar* (£3.65) is solid in the jar but turns to an buttery oil like texture when you add it to the skin but the great thing is it’s so multi functional so you can use it on your skin, the cuticles of your nails, your lips if they’re feeling dry or even your hair so it’s a great product to have around.
I have been trying out a whole bunch of items from Super Facialist and I am in love with the Overnight Skin Recovery Cream* (£15.99) as it’s like a hybrid between a sleep mask which are usually quite thick and take a while to sink into the skin and a general moisturiser. It’s been great on those nights where I don’t feel like I need something really thick but it needs a little more than normal, plus as it’s quite a thin evening cream it can be doubled up in the morning if I’m going away and I only want to take one thing away.
The Rose Hydrate Radiance Day Cream* (£14.99) has a lovely scent and a really hydrating feel but because I suffer from a bit of redness on my cheeks this does seem to bring it out a little more than normal rather than calming it down so it’s more one for the weekend when I’m not planning on going out as opposed to during the week when I’m going to be doing my makeup to go to work.
If you’re also looking for a really quick and easy cleanser then then the Micellar Cleansing Gel* (£8.99) is a great option as you just need to massage it into wet skin and then wash off. If like me you’re one who wears a bit more eye makeup you might want to do this as a second cleanse as it wasn’t the best for removing heavy eye makeup but it soothed my skin really well and left it feeling super clean and fresh.
Healgel Intensive was designed by top plastic surgeons in the UK to heal post surgery scars and laser treatments so I was really intrigued to try it out. The gel really reminds me of Clinique’s Moisture Surge in terms of consistancy and it is great for pretty much any skin concern from burns and scars to rashes and blemishes.
Healgel Intensive* is great at calming down redness and irritation and I noticed that it got to work almost straight away, on the days when my skin feels really hot and bothered it’s great to apply straight from the fridge. I don’t tend to get blemishes and marks on my skin very often but when I do this works great on them and in just a few days they’re pretty much gone.

One brand I’ve been absolutely loving for skin hydration is Time Bomb who I’d actually never heard of before a few months ago but you can buy their products through their own site or QVC. The Powerball Intensive Moisturiser* (£37) is quite a thick cream so definitely more of a night time treat but it really floods the skin with so much hydration that my skin has a definite bounce after using it, it’s also so hydrating that I’ve noticed a slight reduction in the redness of my cheeks which I am so happy about.
There’s also the Complextion Cocktail with a shot of H2Omega* (£24.50 for 100ml) which was actually on the Glamour Beauty Power List. This oil is perfect for my parched skin as it doesn’t make my skin greasy it actually provides the right kind of oil which is instantly sucked into my skin. It’s actually made with Chia Oil which is nature’s richest source of Omega 3 EFA’s and is used by long distance runners to keep their bodies conserve water in hotter climates. You just need to saturate a cotton pad or put a small amount on your hand and run is across your face, and it smells absolutely incredible even though I’m not normally a coconut fan. My only worry is I feel like I am using quite a lot of this and it might not last too long, but we’ll see how we get on.

I love Palmers! The cocoa butter lotion smells so delicious and always leaves my skin feeling hydrated and soft. I haven’t tried the other products mentioned in this post but will definitely add them to my list as I do tend to suffer with dry skin and am always looking out for new moisturising products x
My skin has always been dry and on the sensitive side so I love trying out new products. I find that regular exfoliating helps!
These sound brilliant! I’ve just forwarded his post to a friend of mine I know she has really bad dry skin.
What a great roundup. I love the sound of the Bioskin spray, perfect for keeping in a bag and the Rose Hydrate Radiance Day Cream is right up my street as I love that scent so much. Great selection, I have such dry skin, all the time!
That complexion cocktail with the chia EFAs in it sounds absolutely amazing. I use a NUDE omega oil at the moment and it does really help my skin, so I’ll bet this product has been amazing. EFAs are so important inside and out!
Oo lots of new products to try – since having my first daughter my skin has been so dry!
Some good tips in here. I’m always looking for something new to work as my skin gets really dry, especially in the winter and when I’m pregnant!! I want to try the cocoa butter, I’ve heard good things!
I’ve always suffered with dry skin, add on top of that the heating I’ve had on since October sometime!! I’m definitely ready to hydrate my skin.
That sounds amazing and definitely all worth a try. I have dry and sensitive skin and I’ve been looking for products that would work.
It’s really important for me toknow what products are worth trying that’s why I appreciate this post so much. Dry skin is such a hassle during Summer! I wouldn’t mind checking these out.
Love your blog posts about these products, I have used Palmers from when I was a teen to when I had my kids to remove the stretch marks and swear by it. I have also always had dry skin so I might give the other products a try as well.
Palmers is fantastic, isn’t it? I’ve used it ever since I was pregnant with my first 13 years ago. 😀
I really need to start looking after my skin better, these sound like good products for me to pick from to start
I really struggle with dry skin, so I will definitely need to look at trying some new products. I’m trying to find products that are cruelty free, so you know if any of these are?
I too have dry skin but been using E45 and Palmer’s cocoa butter for years now and both have been good for my skin which I love. Thanks for introducing me to other brands
I have really dry skin at this time of year so I will definitely bear these in mind! I think it’s the extremes of sun and cold and the heating cranked up and down!
I had always thought I had oily skin until I got a facial and was told I was overproducing oil because my skin is crazy dry! Who knew! I’ll have to try some of these moisturizers to help my face figure itself out.
I am so glad for this post. I have the driest of skin and most days it seems that moisturizing lotion just doesn’t come close to helping. I’m definitely going to give this brand a try to see if it helps.
I have only recently started suffer from dry patches, mostly on my brow and around my nose. As this is my first experience with dry skin I found your post to be both very informative and quite helpful as you gave excellent descriptions of the items you shared so that I may be better informed when choosing the right product to help combat the dryness.
My daughter suffers from eczema , so I am always on the look out for new products that can help hydrate and keep her skin moisturised. I love how you have gone in depth about all these products.
I’ve got eczema which gets worse at certain times of year. I love the look of the Dermaspray as it sounds quick and easy to apply in the mornings after a shower.
Those products sound amazing! My skin is a mixture of dry and oily and it’s really a challenge to find a moisturizer that’s perfect for my skin type. I’ll try to use Bio Skin this time. Thanks for the recommendation!
I have used palmers for years, love using their body moisturiser before tanning.
Luckily I do not have dry skin. I will be sure to share this with those that do. Thanks for sharing!
The bioskin dermaspray sounds really good as I have very dry skin and nothing seems to help. Is it readily available ?
I will have to show this to my daughter. She definitely could use some more skin care things in the house. And she’s dealing with some dry skin issues as well.
