For me, I don’t feel like I’ve done all that much in October even though it’s been a kind of busy one. I’m now in full-blown Christmas mode with a lot of my presents, my wrapping paper and my cards bought. October is one of my favourite months as it’s when the air gets cooler, I can put candles on without it getting too warm and I can start getting snuggly on the sofa with blankets, Here are some of my favourites from the month of October.
As a general sweeping statement I have been loving Autumn and (almost) everything it’s bringing. I like the darker evenings as I can feel cosier at home and this means that I can snuggle on the sofa with a blanket around me and a candle lit without feeling like I’m going to melt. I’m also far more a fan of layered outfits with jumpers and cardigans as I just don’t know how to comfortably dress for the summer.
Children in Need Hat
The first favourite is this Mustard Bobble Hat* from Blacks in support of this year’s Children In Need. I love the mustard colour as I’m really into it this year and it’s so nice and warm, plus the bobble on the top is so soft. I took it out with us when we went on a recent driving experience day at the end of October when it really started to get cold and it was a lifesaver. A minimum of 50% of the price of the hats is donated to BBC Children in Need which is even better. Last year a whopping £100,000 was raised with most of that coming from the hat which is an amazing amount of money.
Orange Floral Dress From George At Asda
My next fashion love is this midi dress which I bought from George at Asda. One of the things I love about it is that you can pop it on with leggings and trainers and have it as a casual day dress. Or you can pop on tights and heels and give it a more evening-ready look.
I am a huge fan of oranges and mustard’s at the moment and I think they look really nice with black clothing which is one of the things I love about it. Unfortunately, I can’t find the dress online, although I can definitely still see it in stores.
Yellow Checked Shirt from New Look/ ASOS
Another of my fashion favourites has been this Yellow Checkered Shirt from New Look which I bought on ASOS (of course!) Usually I find shirt buttons don’t do up but this one is a relaxed fit so I can button it up which is the first win. But one of the things I really love about it is how comfortable it is as a shirt, it’s not restrictive at all and the sleeves can be rolled up a bit. I’ve been wearing this shirt so much that pretty much as soon as it’s been washed it’s back on again.
Restora Protein Shampoo and Conditioner
I’m trying to do everything I can to keep my hair colour lasting longer so over the past month I’ve been using the Restora™ Protein Shampoo and Conditioner* which is designed to help nourish hair back to health and prevent colour fade. The brand have used scientific research to create their three-step hair treatment bringing in a Protein Treatment as well. One thing I’ve noticed is how hydrating the shampoo is because usually I am forced to use conditioner to keep my hair feeling hydrating but this can be used on its own with the same hydrating results.
When I’ve used both the shampoo and conditioner I’ve definitely noticed that my hair has more shine which helps to enhance the colour making it look bright and colourful which is a plus as I’m definitely getting near the end of my colours life so I’m hoping to top this up soon.
For something so luxurious for your hair the shampoo and conditioner are just £8.99 each which is such great value, but you can also buy the Protein Treatment Set which comes with Protein Treatment as well.
Johnson’s Baby Shampoo
The first item is a bit of an odd one but I’ve been loving the Johnson’s Baby Shampoo* as it’s made the task of cleaning my makeup sponges so much easier. I’m going to admit I am pretty bad when it comes to keeping my brushes/ sponges and don’t do it nearly as often as I should but I’m trying to do my sponges more often as and when they get dirty. I used to use expensive brush cleaning soaps and although they work they get used up so quickly and Johnson’s Baby Shampoo does just as good a job and it’s so much cheaper.
Benefit Hello Happy Foundation
An actual beauty item I’ve been loving is this Benefit Hello Happy Foundation which I’ve been finding myself reaching for so often as it’s that perfect lighter coverage. This gives me enough coverage that it covers the redness I get on my cheeks but it’s light enough that it doesn’t clump up or look cakey on my cheeks which is an issue I seem to be having with other foundations lately.
Considering this foundation isn’t specifically made for people with dry skin it feels quite hydrating, especially around my nose, which is a plus for me.
What have you been loving through October?
