I say this literally every single week on this blog but where the hell is time going?! Like how is it the end of 2018 already?! I am crazy worried about where time is going and there’s just so much going on for me at the moment.
So 2018 saw Luke officially move in with me i.e. all of his stuff came over and he started properly paying to be in the flat which was amazing, it also saw me put the flat up for sale at the very end of the year which is both super exciting and scary at the same time.
Here’s a run down of my London bucket list items and how I got on in the later half of 2018.
Have ice-cream from Milk Train
I finally made it to Milk Train over the summer although sadly it was raining the day I headed there, although it didn’t spoil my experience there. I opted for a cookies and cream ice cream which was covered in oreos which made it quite messy, although it was really tasty. Yes the candy floss wasn’t necessary and yes it was a bit tricky to eat but it tasted so good and I’m glad I got it added.
See School of Rock
After seeing the show in New York a few years back it’s been on my wishlist to see it in London but another 6 month’s have passed and I’ve not gotten there which I am gutted about. It’s something I know Luke will enjoy as well as he’s a fan of the movie so I’m going to keep my eyes open for deals on tickets and hopefully we’ll get to go in 2019.
Visit Kew Gardens
I didn’t get to Kew Gardens again as we were just so busy over the summer and by the time we had some spare weekends it wasn’t the best weather. I am determined to go in Spring time next year and I’m even tempted to book us tickets so we have something solid in the diary. If anyone knows the best month to go for the optimal plant and flower life do let me know.
Have ice-cream from Soft Serve Society
This is another thing I ticked off my list as I had a lovely solo day in London one weekend when Luke was down in Southampton and I made a beeline for Boxpark in Soho to grab some charcoal ice cream. The ice cream was coconut flavoured which was so nice as it was refreshing and of course I opted for more Gothic additions including the charcoal cone and Oreo bits which again made such a mess. I’d definitely head there again and have this as it was so tasty.
Have pizza at Pizza Pilgrims
Again another thing we ticked off our list *hooray*, me and Luke went to the theatre in Leicester Square so made a trip to the restaurant there and the food was so good. I got some extra pesto dipping sauce for the crusts of my pizza and it was a game changer, and it was really good value for money as well for an authentic pizza. I’ll definitely be back as I have my eye on the nutella pizza for dessert.
Go to Columbia Flower Market
On the solo date I talked about above I made a trip to Columbia Flower Market and it was absolutely crazy. The market itself is stunning with so much choice in flowers, plants, bushes and pots that I could have spent hours making a decision on what to buy and coming out with everything, but it was just far too busy for my liking. I don’t know whether it’s because I went round lunchtime on a Sunday and there’s probably a far better time but for this reason I don’t think I’d rush back, although I’m glad I went.
Go to Bicester Village
I finally managed to make a trip to Bicester Village over Black Friday weekend which was understandably manic but I got so many great deals. Thankfully I had a good payment come through just before I went so I was able to treat myself and Luke to some nice bits. I was so happy to see Jo Malone items in the Cosmetics store as I never see those on promo, and I got the most beautiful Monica Vinader ring which I love. I definitely want to go back but I don’t think it will be too regularly otherwise I’ll be broke.
