I am a huge fan of gift experiences and over the years have bought loads for my family. Including archery and shooting with my dad, gin making with Luke and spa days with my mum. I know how much my parents love going out for nice meals and this means they can do just that without having to worry about the main cost.

The Smartbox comes as a physical package with a booklet showcasing a lot of the experiences and choices. And then you can go online and make your choice and book the meal. I’ve had some of these physical vouchers myself and they’re so easy to book.

If you want to be more specific you can choose specific restaurants. My pick of the bunch is the three-course Michelin starred meal with bubbles for two at Gavin La Chapelle. I’ve been to the other Galvin restaurant at The Athenaeum and the food was out of this world.

Driving experiences with Buyagift

If a meal for two isn’t quite right for your dad then there are a whole lot of other options. You can get a triple supercar driving experience for under £80 at the moment which is a steal. I’ve actually done a driving experience and it’s unlike anything I’ve done before. The adrenaline when you start driving that fast is both scary but incredible.

If supercars at high speed is a bit too much, how about booking a go-karting experience? I remember going go-karting with my dad as a kid and this would be a great way to reminisce. Plus now there’s a chance I could actually beat him!
