It’s been a little while since I last did a first impression on new skincare items. In fact, it’s been almost 6 months, oops. So I thought I’d talk about some of the products I bought at the Glamour Beauty Event in March.
At the beauty event, two of my favourite skincare brands were there; Fresh Beauty and Pixi Beauty. I have tried a few different Fresh Beauty items in the past generally from trips to the States. And of course, the Pixi glow tonic has been quite essential for me in the past.
I picked up two Fresh mini’s at the event and one in a mini’s set I got at Christmas. They’re all from the Rose range as this is the hydrating range which is the best thing for my skin. Then from Pixi Beauty, I picked up two full-sized items, including a tonic I’d never seen before and something else from the Glow Range.
Now the first thing I am going to say is that sadly I am not the biggest fan of the rose scent. This range, therefore, may seem like a strange choice then but if a product works I can deal with the scent. Thankfully the deep hydrating face cream isn’t too heavy a scent. The cream itself is quite thick so it’s definitely more of an evening cream as I think you’d need to wait quite a while before putting your makeup on top of it.
As soon as I put the cream on my skin actually felt a bit plumper so the hydrating seemed to sink straight in. And even an hour or so later I could still feel it on my skin a little. I love this as too often I put cream on then 10 minutes later it doesn’t feel like I’ve done anything. My first impressions of this are really good.
Now onto the Deep Hydration Facial Tonic. Before I talk about the product itself I have to mention the beauty of it. As there are real rose petals inside it looks absolutely stunning, and strangely enough, doesn’t smell too much.
I have mixed feelings about tonics as some seem to strip the skin a lot which thankfully this wasn’t. In fact, my skin felt a little tacky afterwards which was a nice change from how drying some tonics are. I’m not convinced I’ve noticed a real difference so far after using this but maybe it just needs more time.
I’ve had the Fresh Rose Face Mask for a little longer but as it’s a mask (and I own so many) I’ve only used it a few times. This is the item with the strongest smell which is quite overpowering when you first use it. But it is a really fresh scent which is better than an overly artificial/ chemical smell.
This mask only needs to stay on for 5-10 minutes which is my favourite type of mask. Other than the odd weekend or early evening I don’t tend to have 20-30 minutes to lay with a mask on. So for this one, I can quickly pop it on while I’m sorting things out in my room and before you know it it’s time to come off.
Like the cream, I talked about earlier this has a similar effect and makes my skin feel really plumped and fresh. There’s certainly been a bounce to my skin after using this so the hydration is instantly obvious.
A great little mask for those looking for an extra hydrating boost but want something pretty quick to use.
The first thing I noticed when I squeezed the Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel out of the tube is how runny it is so it’s a little messy to use. But sometimes skincare needs to be messy.
I am a big fan of foaming cleansers and sadly this one didn’t foam up or seem to be doing too much on the surface of the skin. I’d definitely say this is more of a morning softer cleanser than a deeper evening cleanser. There was no harshness or real deep cleansing feeling which can be a good thing depending on when you use it.
It did have the classic Pixi glow feeling afterwards and my skin looked brighter and more glowy. So definitely a good thing for pre-makeup application.
Recently there feels like there have been a lot of new Pixi Tonics out. There’s been retinal and jasmine ones which I have previously tried. But I’d never seen the Milky Tonic before the Beauty Event so I’m not sure if it was brand new then.
This is made from Milk and Oat and is described as a soothing toner. I have drier skin which can be quite sensitive on occasion so this seemed like a great one to try. While some stronger tonics can sting my skin this was really refreshing.
I get a lot of redness on my cheeks and it seemed toned down after using this is. Plus it was pretty cooling which was nice when the weather recently got pretty warm. I think I need to continue using this more to see if it’s going to do any more to my skin but if you’ve got sensitive skin this could be the Pixi Tonic for you.

I like the idea of the deep hydration products, my skin gets very dry and I know that makes me look older. Mich x
I especially love the look of the rose tonic and it’s lovely that it contains real rose petals. Shame you haven’t noticed much of an improvement after using it so far though.
I really like Pixl in general and find it works well on my skin. The rose cream sounds gorgeous smelling too!
I really want to try the Pixi tonic cleanser, it is something that I have read loads about but yet to try. I should check out Fresh beauty too.
It’s so nice and I love most things in the glow range x
My mummy loves anything with milk and oat as its really soothing on her skin, so might look out for the Pixi Beauty tonic!
I have really sensitive skin and suffer from redness so love the sound of the Pixi tonic. Love the style of the packaging.
I love the sound of the Milky Tonic. I love Pixi Glow Tonic but I also suffer from dry skin so this may be more suitable.
Yeah the milky one is so much more hydrating x
Great Post! I heard so much about the fresh toner and I really want to try it out as well!

I am working my way through those two Pixi products right now and Fresh is a brand I have had my eye on for some time now x
I absolutely love the glow tonic. Didn’t realise they did it as a cleansing gel. Will have to try that!
There are so many things in the glow collection, I just bought the serum and I’m loving it so far x
