Month number five is done and dusted and now we’ve got a few months before another bank holiday. That’s going to be a tough one. I feel like Summer has officially started as we’ve had festival number one. And we’ve had some nice sunny days which I have been enjoying. The sweaty heat and chub rub not so much. But the sunnier weather always makes people smile that bit more which I really appreciate.
First up is an item I’ve been using in a bid to keep my hair looking healthy. I’ve finally got into a habit of only washing my hair every other day (although it still gets greasy on the middle day). But I have enjoyed saving the time, and my hair is enjoying having less heat blasted at it. On the day’s that I do wash it I’ve been using the Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence Spray* (£18) to ensure it stays in good condition.
It’s kind of a jack of all trades as its heat protecting, conditioning, helps reduce breakage, detangles and offers protection from UV and heat rays. Now it’s getting warmer I love the idea of having UV protection for my hair as I’m so careful about putting suncream on my face but tend to forget about my hair. For me my hair feels like it’s got that added hydration boost when I spray this in and helps with the detangling.
My skin has been a bit all over the place in the past month with a few breakouts on my chin which I’ve not been happy about. I’ve been trying to do more face masks but I don’t always have time to put one on, wait and wash it off. So I’ve been rediscovering some sheet masks and mixing up my collection.
This holographic sheet mask* from OH!K was a great hydration moisture surge. I’ve also been loving the Pixi Glow masks for added colour and spring in my skin. On the days in between actual masks, these have been a good alternative.
Previously I’ve expressed a bit of a dislike to stick foundations but I’ve done a complete 360 over the past month. I’ve been looking for ways to get coverage without suffocating my skin while I’ve had my breakouts. I spotted this Bobbi Brown foundation stick in my collection and it’s been just what I needed.
It does have great coverage but my skin doesn’t feel as claggy as it can when I use liquid foundation. The creaminess of it means it glides on like a dream and doesn’t need much blending. This is my go-to no-makeup look as it covers my spots but looks so natural. As it’s so easy to apply I also think this will be my best choice when I go to 2000 trees festival as I’ll be camping. And applying liquid foundation when camping is not easy.
Due to my size, I sometimes find it hard to get jeans that are really comfortable. But ever since I bought a pair of the Ivy skinny jeans in grey I’ve barely worn anything else. They are the right rise, high without being halfway up your torso. And while there is some give in them they don’t over stretch like some other cheaper jeans.
That’s right these are cheap jeans at just £19.50. I’d never have thought of Marks and Spencer as budget but they’re cheaper than the New Look ones I used to buy. And both the quality and fit is so much nicer. Plus they’re not thick heavy denim due to the cotton blend so they’re really comfortable. Tick, tick, tick and tick.
When I first got my Fitbit (Flex 2) I wore it to death but then I kept forgetting to charge it and it just laid on my dressing table. Over the past month when I’m really trying to walk more I have finally charged it up and it doesn’t leave my wrist.
What I love so much about this one is that I have a rose gold bangle to put it in. When I had the rubber style Fitbits I found I wouldn’t wear a watch with it. I had so many lovely watches that this seemed like a shame. So when Luke bought me this one he got the Flex 2 which doesn’t have a screen and a rose gold bangle that it can be put into. It looks as much like jewellery as it does a gadget which means I manage to get so much wear out of it.
These may seem like an odd favourite, but of course, some homeware items had to fit in. These Vie Gourmet Coconut Bowls* are 100% handmade and natural so no two bowls are alike which I love.
They’re made from reclaimed coconut shells which is so unique and really clever. They’re also a great snack bowl size so I’ve been having a lot of popcorn/ chocolate/ crisp fixes with these. They also come with spoons if you’d rather use them with hot food, or maybe for your cereal.
At the point of writing this, the final episode has not aired and I am so excited about it. I absolutely Ru Paul’s Drag Race and every single season seem to get better and better. The queens this year have been fierce and so talented that I’ve really been invested in it. I’m always fascinated by the people on the show and this year I really don’t want it to end. I can’t wait for the UK version!

I like the sound of the Bobbi Brown stick foundation!
Ru Paul’s Drag Race is top of my ‘to-watch’ list. I keep seeing people talking about it and it sounds like the kind of show I’d enjoy!
If you’ve never seen an episode I promise you’ll get hooked. There are like 10 seasons now x
If there is anything that I need in my life, it is a better skincare routine. My skin is looking so haggard and tired lately. These look and sound like great products.
My skin is in desperate need of a moisturising boost so the holographic sheet masks look great. Love those coconut bowls for snacks too!
I love the sound of that Bobbi Brown foundation. I’ve been looking for something a bit lighter than my Double Wear which is just too heavy when the weather is nice.
Everyone has been talking about Ru Pauls Drag List. I haven’t seen any yet, I really want to give it a go.
I am totally loving your May selection, some great items here especially Bobbi Brown’s Stick Foundation which I swear by
I want a new bracelet for my Fitbit. Mine is black and is like a silver or rose gold one for nights out
The metal ones are so great to look less like a fitness band x
Loving the Vie Gourmet Coconut Bowls. I love collecting these little bowls and even tin cans.
I’ve recently really got into sheet masks. It’s so nice not to have to wash your face off afterwards!
I need tolook into the defence spray for my hair. It’s not in great condition anyway, but will be worse over the summer months.
Anything which can protect against heat and UV rays is a winner x
I didn’t know you could put your Fitbit in a bracelet, sounds like a great way to wear it.
