Five Places On My London Foodie Bucket List

AD - This is a collaborative post but all thoughts and opinions are my own

Seeing as I live just 20 minutes from London I have a long old bucket list of places I want to visit. But my list of places I want to eat at is just as long, if not longer. I try and tick off as many places as I can eat time I plan a trip. But trying to budget can make it tougher as meals out can be quite pricey. Squaremeal have a great selection of restaurants that you can view and book online. Click here for more information and start making your own wish list.

Here’s what I have on my current London foodie wishlist, although it’s always growing.

Dishoom Breakfast

I’m not a huge fan of Indian food so for a long time Dishoom didn’t appeal to me. But then I spotted their breakfast choices and was won over. They do breakfast naan wraps which can be stuffed with your traditional breakfast food. But in naan bread, and I am totally on board with this.

When my parents used to order Indian when I was a kid I’d always get them to buy me a naan bread. So having a full breakfast based around this makes me really happy. Plus my friend loves Indian food so it would be a great compromise between our loves.

Brunch at Aubain in Selfridges

The main reason I want to head to Aubain in Selfridges is because of how stunning the restaurant looks. There are floral walls and hanging arrangements which is an Instagram paradise. This is the kind of place I’d need to go with other people so that I can get them to take a few photos of me.

But thinking about the food, the brunch/ lunch menu does look really good. And I’ve only read good things about the food itself. It’s always good when things don’t just look good.

The Barge House Breakfast In Bread

The second I spotted The Barge House on Instagram I knew I had to add it to my list. I did have this booked once, but trains meant that I couldn’t get there for my booking. The ‘Breakfast in Bread’ option is basically a full breakfast inside a massive bit of sourdough bread. Again another thing encased in bread, which caters for all my tastes.

They also crack an egg on top and I can’t begin to imagine how amazing it would be to crack that and have it ooze into the bowl. This is just making me hungry thinking about it.

Sketch Afternoon Tea

I’m sure everyone has seen photos of both the egg toilets in Sketch (they’re legendary), and the pink themed room. I believe the pink room is where afternoon tea is served which is great as this is what I’d love to have. Me and my friend are huge fans of afternoon tea, but each time we go to book one we get hung up on the price of this one. It does look stunning and I’m sure the food is amazing, but it is quite pricey. So it needs to be a really special occasion.

Bubblewrapwaffle

I have a lot of proper meal places on my list, but snacks are always welcome as they’re generally easier (and cheaper) to fit into a schedule. Bubble waffles have been something I’ve seen around London a lot and Bubblewrapwaffle seems to be the place to go.

Every time I walk past the little shop in China Town the queue is always so long so it must be good if that many people are going. Or it might just be that the back drop to take that waffle photo looks so good in the area. Either way, I’m keen to get one full of chocolate and oreo bits. It’s making me hungry already.
