This is a collaborative post but all thoughts and opinions are my own
Summer is officially over. While it’s never nice to say goodbye to sunshine, warmer temperatures and longer days, there are plenty of things to look forward to in autumn. This season, we will watch the leaves change colour, stop committing to loads of plans and spend an increasingly longer period of time in our loungewear. If you’re still struggling with how to get into the autumn spirit, allow me to help.
Nothing shouts autumn more than a pumpkin spiced latte. Rather than heading off to Costa for your caffeine fix, save time and pennies by making your own tasty hot drink at home. So, when you’ve got in from work, put the kettle on, change into your pyjamas and make it a date with your sofa and TV.
While the evenings have been light and the sun has been shining, you probably haven’t wanted to spend time inside watching Netflix. However, now that it’s autumn, the dark, cooler nights are the perfect excuse to catch up on your favourite shows. If you’ve been wanting to start a new series but haven’t yet got around to it, it’s time to grab a pen and paper and get planning the shows you still need to see.
From Friday the 13th and IT, to Saw and Paranormal Activity, there are plenty of scary movie options to get you ready for Halloween and the autumn season. It’s best that you don’t watch these alone, so phone your friends, stock up on popcorn and prepare to spend the evening covering your eyes with a pillow!
While many of us love to be inside and warm during this period, it’s also important that we get out in the fresh air. What better way to work the lungs and pump oxygen to the muscles than with a walking holiday in Europe? After a long day walking, just imagine how satisfying it’ll be to get home, get in front of the fire and sip on a hot chocolate.
Along with knitted jumpers, soft scarves and ankle boots, it’s time to dress your nails with this season’s colours – oranges, yellows, reds and deep purples. Whether you’d prefer something more classic or can’t wait to check out this season’s nail art, booking an appointment at your nail salon will get you in the mood for autumn no doubt.
