It’s Christmas: Treat Yo Self!

Ah, Christmas. Indulgence, fairy lights, Christmas dinner, Michael Buble defrosting and ready to belt out the tunes. It’s a beautiful time of year, isn’t it? One of the best things that make Christmas is the time spent with family and friends, exchanging gifts and being together. It’s the best time of the year for fun and love, and if you can’t do that at Christmas, when can you?

There’s one thing missing, though. You. Ever-deserving, hard-working, stressed-to-the-max you. You’ve spent a whole year saving up carefully and curbing the nights out and indulgences so that you could have a wonderfully debt-free year. You’ve said no to the expensive coffee and no to the holiday abroad. You’ve turned off the lights and added blankets to save money on the utilities. You’ve done brilliantly.

But, here’s the thing. It’s time to treat yourself. It’s time to see you’ve spent twelve focused months looking after the pennies that the pounds really have taken care of themselves. So, whether treating yourself means going abroad, or it means really embracing the fashionista within and buying something glorious from Chardonnay Boutique, you need to decide to do something that is just for you this Christmas. Self-care? That’s important. All the articles say so. If you need any more convincing, let’s look at some of the reasons that the Chardonnay Knitted Roll Neck Dress should be yours this year.

  1. It’s good to take a break from being, well, good. You’re busy making a living, but life is meant for living, too. So, put the pennies down for a minute and give yourself a budget to do something frivolous, to own something beautiful. You need to have a break from saving and this is the perfect way to do it!
  2. It’s going to feel fantastic to do something for yourself. The treat doesn’t even have to be expensive; something as simple as a box of chocolates in your favourite spot with your favourite person can be enough to rejuvenate you!
  3. You are going to feel so motivated about the next year if you reward yourself for the energy you’ve put into doing something amazing. You are going to know you’re capable of anything, and you can refresh yourself ready for the next personal challenge that you set.
  4. You’re going to empower others to do the same. They’re going to see the leaps and bounds of which you’ve come and will feel inspired. How amazing is it going to feel to know that you’ve inspired others?
  5. Lastly? You deserve this. Treating yourself isn’t about blowing your savings or reversing all the good habits you’ve built for yourself. It means – for once – buying the darn shoes! It means saying yes to that Chardonnay Boutique dress and smiling because you’ve got something gorgeous just for you. You’re a hard-working, stressed-out person. But you’re happy and smiling.

So, why not do something for you this Christmas? Treat yourself now, and then get back onto the horse to save for next year.
