Another New Foodie Addition To Watford – Cassio Lounge Review

Cassio Lounge review, so all thoughts and opinions are my own

One of my favourite things to do on a Friday or Saturday is go out for dinner. Me and Luke are definitely ‘foodies’ by nature so we love trying out new restaurants. Especially when those new restaurants happen to be right where we are living in Watford. Cassio Lounge opened in Watford at the end of 2019, but The Lounges have been going since 2002 when three friends who had worked in the restaurant and bar trade decided to do their own thing.

I’d actually been to a restaurant called Metro Lounge in Amersham a few times, but I had no idea it was part of the same group. There are quite a lot of locations in the South of England and around Herts/ Beds/ Bucks. We headed there on a Tuesday evening at 6.30pm so one of the quietest times you can experience a restaurant. But it still felt super cozy with it’s slightly acclectic decor. But I loved the mass of pictures and photos on the walls, and the lighting was pretty spectacular.

It’s a bit like an upmarket bar where you choose your own table and order and pay at the bar. But I quite like this idea as it means whenever you’ve finished eating you don’t have to do the whole wait for the bill to pay. You can just get up and go when you’re done. But the main reason for doing this Cassio Lounge review was about the food.

Cassio Lounge Review of the food

Tuesday night when we went was Tapas night where you can grab three tapas dishes and a glass of wine for £10.50 which is a great deal! We did opt for some tapas including halloumi fries for me, buttermilk chicken for Luke and some garlic bread because why not?! We had hoped for these as a starter but they actually arrived at the same time as our mains. That’s probably the only thing I can be negative about as it did mean we had a lot of food all at once. It would have been nice to have a bit of a breather in between.

But the tapas dishes were very tasty. The halloumi fries were crispy and the garlic bread was really light and on particularly great bread.

Burgers for mains and back for brunch

Luke already knew from the off he wanted a burger, and I decided to go off my healthy eating plan and have one too. I knew I’d get food FOMO if I didn’t and his looked great. As usual Luke had a pretty basic Lounge Burger, he’s a creature of habit. But I opted for the Ultimate Chicken Burger with buttermilk fried chicken, cheese, bacon, red onion, hash browns and BBQ sauce. And it was a whopper, but really tasty! Our tapas and starters along with two burgers and two drinks was just under £35 which is pretty great value for money.

We were going to have one of the great sounding ice cream sundeas, but we were stuffed after our food. But it didn’t take me long to go back! About 6 days after my dinner I headed there with a friend for brunch which I had to mention in this Cassio Lounge review. For me brunch/ breakfast is where the place shines as it was amazing. I has the Diner Brunch which was buttermilk pancakes with smoked streaky bacon, maple syrup, barbecue beans, mini hash browns and two fried eggs. And wow! It was an amazing breakfast and under £10 so a great price!

This sounds like such an interesting place to go and buy a bite to eat. Hands up those lamps on the ceiling are incredible I always seem to be drawn to lighting in resturants as they often put together or up interesting settings.
The food looks and sounds delicious as well.

I love garlic bread. I also love a nice, juicy cheeseburger. I do like chicken as well, this one sounds like it would be quite tasty.

We have one of these fairly local to us and it is one of my favourite places to eat.

It is where me and my Fiance had our first date but also where he proposed. So not only has it got great food, a wonderful atmosphere but it is so special to us as a couple x

The place looks lovely and the food too . Do they have many veggie options ? Watford has so many new dining places since the new refurbishment.

This looks like such a lovely place! If it is still open when places reopen after lockdown, I think I might just have to pop by!
