For my whole life I’ve lived a 20-30 minute train ride from Central London. But I’ve not taken advantage of it as much as I wish I had. There’s still so many things that I’ve not experienced, or visited. So over the past few years I’ve done quite a lot of London bucket list posts. And it turns out I’m pretty bad at ticking off things I want to do from my list. Below I’m going to do a bit of a mixture of new things I want to tick off my list. But also some of the things I had on my list from last time.
I’ve done a river cruise but I’d love to do something like a speedboat experience in London as I want to experience it from another angle. I love adrenaline-fuelled activities, even though I can be a bit of a wuss sometimes. Thames Jet off a 50-minute experience ride where you see a load of iconic sights in London and then head to a fast zone. I know I’d scream like mad, but this is something I’d love to do.
This isn’t necessary a London based activity, but it’s been on my bucket list for years and I’ve still not been. Once we have the house sorted I am just going to book us in to do Go Ape otherwise we’ll never get there. Hopefully by the summer as well I’ll be a bit fitter as I’ve started my exercise routine again. As I know that having some body strength will do me good at Go Ape.
This is the only thing from my last bucket list that I actually managed to achieve since last summer. I was actually invited by Buyagift to do this for Afternoon Tea week which was unreal. And I loved the experience. We didn’t get the best weather day so might not have seen as much as I’d have liked. But the food was hands down great, especially the sweet treats.
Now I have been to Kew Gardens once but it was the Christmas night time light experience, so I’ve not been here during the day to see it in all its glory. Again this would be another summer time one, but something else that once the house is sorted I’m keen to just book so we have to go!
My London foodie bucket list is quite long but one of the top ones is to have breakfast at Dishoom. Now Dishoom always seems to be heaving, but I never hear much about their breakfast naans and I’m intrigued. I’m heading into London a few times with my best friend who loves Indian food. So I’m hoping I can convince her to get up a little earlier so we can grab breakfast.
On my last bucket list I put the Tower of London experience, but I definitely meant the Tower Bridge Experience as I went to the Tower of London a few years ago. Tower Bridge is one of those typical tourist attractions that I’ve still not done. But I’m keen to see if I can head there before or after a few tours I have lined up over the next month. If nothing else I’d love to see the view from up the top, and walk over the glass walkway.
There is a superhero walking tour of London that I’d love to do to see some of the epic places movies have been filmed in. It’s a 2 and a half walking tour around London which I think would be so interesting. I was pretty rubbish last year about booking things up so I’ve checked the dates and am looking to book this for July or September. So I’ve made a note for when we should be moved to look at booking this.

I am about the same distance as you and have not explored London enough, I would love to do a river cruise. They do Go Ape at Chessington which is walking distance to me and have never had the courage to do it
Ohh Chessington, that’s a great spot to do it. There are loads of places I just need to push myself x
I lived in London for just over a year and managed to tick loads off of my bucket list, although there is still so much I would love to. Dishoon is absolutely amazing I went for both brunch and dinner and the food was fantastic on both occasions x
I absolutely adore London. It is one of my favourite places to visit and there is still so much that I haven’t seen or done.
You’ve got a great list here, the afternoon tea in particular looks delicious x
I would love to have breakfast at the Dishroom as well. I had lunch there before and their food is so good! On my London bucket list is breakfast at the Duck and Waffle. I was there the other week and unfortunately they were fully booked. Good to know to book next time I’m in town.
Ohh yes duck and waffle is a great shout, I’d love to go there x
There are so many things to explore in london, ive done a Go ape(also not in london) and its great though can be a bit scary lol, pop fact never been over Tower bridge and ive been to london lots, let alone the tour.
I love Kew Gardens, there is so much to see. Go Ape is great fun, although I did have a wobble half way across one bridge and Tower Bridge is well worth a visit
Yeah I think I want to build up my strength a little bit before doing Go Ape x
What some amazing sounding things to do in London, I wish I had seen more when I could – I used to love taking the train down and just spending the day walking around. I would always seem to end up at the National History Museum, thinking I had so much more time to explore. I hope you get to do everything on your list this year.
We’re in the same position and only live 45 mins from London but don’t visit as much as we should! We really want to visit Kew Gardens – one day we’ll get there!
There are some really good ideas here for sure. I would well recommend the London Bridge experience for sure – the glass floor walk is very cool xx
I think I’m just going to book it for a trip over the next few months x
I absolutely love London, and how fascinating it it. There is so much to do, you really can easily find something wonderful to do any day of the week. I just wish I lived as close as you do. My son is desperate to visit, but it will have to be a major stay for us. Fingers crossed one day soon.
There is so much to do in London. I haven’t been to Kew Gardens in ages but would love to visit this spring. I would also love to have an afternoon tea in a double decker bus.
The B Bakery afternoon tea and the walking movie tours would be on my bucket list
Sounds like London has tons of areas to explore and it looks absolutely amazing. Never been there before but hopefully soon with the family.
Great suggestions, visiting London has been on our family bucket list for ages and we are hoping to finally tick it off this summer! I would love to explore the Thames on a boat tour and afternoon year is definitely a must! The tower bridge experience sounds pretty awesome too!
London is absolutely on our family bucket list. I really do hope that we get to come over to Europe one day soon!
