Happy November to you all. Christmas is in full swing everywhere you go. Shops have their decorations and gifts out and with the big day next month, I’m in full-on present buying mode. With that in mind, I’m back with another gift guide today full of pampering items. After the strange year that 2020 has been, we all deserve a bit of a pamper, and a bit of luxury. Whether that be in the form of making up a little pamper hamper, or indulging in something special for someone. Here’s some inspiration for pampering gifts.
No pamper session would be complete without something sweet. I know when I run a bath or plan on having a DIY facial I need something chocolatey to see me through. This box of Guylian* chocolates are a great addition to any pampering treat because who doesn’t love a box of chocolates?! You can grab a box easily from the supermarket when you’re doing your weekly shop.
If you want to step it up a notch for your pampering session then this Bradfords Just Food Hamper* (£23.99) is a great option. The hamper is filled with traditional treats including a Farmhouse Sultana Cake, Chocolate Cookies, All Butter Shortbread, and a little box of Belgian chocolates. The sweet treats are accompanied by a jar of Orange Marmalade and a jar of Strawberry Jam.
The little hamper has a great selection of treats to accompany any pamper session. The hardest part will be not eating it all in one sitting.
To go alongside the sweet treats, a good gin and tonic work just right. Gin is always my tipple of choice, and it’s the same for most of my family. I’m more of a fan of citrus and sweet gins as opposed to dry gins and Bloom is a brand I’ve tried a few times before. The bottle I have here is the Passionfruit and Vanilla Blossom Gin* (£24.50) which you can pick up from Amazon and Tesco.
Normally I’m not a huge fan of vanilla but this pairing of fruit and floral works so well. The tangy passionfruit mixes with the creamy vanilla blossom to create a drink that isn’t too sweet. This is helped by the fact that it’s actually made with zero added sugar. Bloom also do their own tonics do you can pick up some tonics to go with the gin as well.
A luxurious bath is a must during any pampering session. Having lived without a bath since moving out of my old flat I am counting down the days weeks until we get ours fitted. I’m a huge fan of Sunday Rain products and this Bath Crystal Duo Set* (£5.99) is a lovely present for anything who loves a bath. You could make it into a little bath set with a bath bomb and some bubble bath for ultimate pampering.
Included in the set is a charcoal extract pot and an acai berry pot. The high mineral content within them will calm the nervous system, cleanse, and detoxify your body. Doesn’t everyone want that from their bath salts?! One of the things I love about these is the colours. You get a lot of bath salts which just look like salt, but these will add a little colour to your bath.
To go along with the bath salts, the mini home spa* (£22) from No Secrets Christmas collection makes a great pairing. The set comes with a delicate award-winning bath jelly, a hand and body butter, and a soy wax votive candle. The bath jelly is a real indulgence as you massage it onto dry skin and the heat from your body warms the jelly up. Then when you sink into a hot bath it dissolves into a bath oil keeping your skin moisturised and soft.
The hand and body butter is light and sinks into the skin beautifully. This set comes in blend number one which is bergamot, eucalyptus, petitgrain, lavender, and juniper, a really uplifting and fresh scent. The whole collection is 100% natural and 100% vegan so it’s suitable for all.
It wouldn’t be a good pamper without a mask. Whether you’re binge-watching a TV episode or relaxing in a bath, face masks are must-haves. During the winter months, skin craves hydration which is why the COSRX ultimate moisturising honey overnight mask* (£18.35) would make such a great gift. It’s a refreshing gel mask which is so much nicer to leave on overnight as it’s not heavy like a cream. I found it sunk into my skin so quickly and left my skin noticeably softer and bouncier with the extra hydration.
The mask is designed to be put on in the evening, left on overnight, and rinsed off in the morning. But my skin drank it up so there wasn’t much (if anything) to wash off the following morning. It has propolis extract to soothe and hydrate the skin, but also disinfect the skin against bacteria. I’ve been reaching for this mask quite often since receiving it and know it would make a great addition to any pampering session.
I love to do skincare bundles as presents as skincare is the kind of thing you’ll always use so it will never go to waste. But you can really treat someone to something they may otherwise not buy for themself. Bioderma is a brand I’ve used a lot myself and when I’m buying for other people I prefer to buy products or brands that I’ve tried and loved myself. They’ve been serving up skin biology for 40 years with products designed to improve skin health.
Bioderma has so many ranges depending on your skin type from sensitive and redness-prone skin to damaged and irritated skin. So you can make sure to get products that line up with the skin type of who you’re buying for. I have a selection from across the ranges including the Sensibio AR BB Cream* (£16) which has been great as a way to even out my skin tone without wearing foundation. Then the Hydrabio Gel Creme* (£15.20) is a lovely light fresh moisturiser to lock in hydration.
For me, there’s nothing more relaxing than a nice bath, with a facemask on a beautiful candle burning in the background. And that’s why I have included these candles from Marokka*. The brand are a London design house with a passion for animals, the environment, and the geometrical structure in everyday items. And I think you can instantly tell that from the design and style of the candles above. Frank the French bulldog which features on one candle was their very first creation.
One of the things which I love about the brand is charity collaboration is a key feature for them. And they partner with both Aspinall Foundation and DOTS (Dogs on the Street) where they donate 10% of all of their sales. So not only are you buying a unique candle but you’re giving something back as well. Not only that but all of the candles are created in recycled wine bottles which is a very cool idea.
You can choose to get the candles with a beautiful lid featuring a Nickel Pewter Charm. Frank* (From £28) is a floral scent with peony, red apple, rose, jasmine, and carnation so it’s super fresh. Yorick* is a more masculine scent that I love with bergamot, orange, amber, cedarwood and so much more. And Gus the Gorilla* smells like a forest with fir, musk, wildflowers, white cedar, and oakmoss.
