Emergency sewing kit

but all thoughts and opinions are my own

We’re on the home straight now. In just 10 days time it will be Christmas Eve and I couldn’t be more excited for this year. Yes it won’t be quite the same as other years, but it’s a chance to forget how rubbish 2020 has been and enjoy ourselves. Some of us may have to get inventive about how we see our loved ones. But I’m quite looking forward to a super chilled day in our new house. For the very first time I’m doing me and Luke Christmas stockings, and as I know it’s quite a tradition my final guide are stocking fillers. All of the gifts in this guide are under £10.

Practical stocking fillers

It’s always nice to get stocking fillers, but it’s even better if the gifts are things you can actually use. This emergency sewing kit* (£10) is one of those. Most of our parents and grandparents probably have full sewing kits, but millenials are much less likely to have one. I didn’t even own thread and a needle. This emergency sewing kit is super compact and practical to leave at home or take around with you in the small tin.

It comes with 6 different threads, scissors, a seam ripper, needles, safety pins, buttons, hooks and so much more. In fact it comes with 48 pieces. Super practical and a great stocking filler.

Haribo hamper

For someone with a sweet tooth

It wouldn’t be a stocking without some sweet treats. And the Haribo hamper* (£4) features six packets of some of the best Haribo sweets which can be unpacked and added into the stocking individually. The strawbs and giant trees are some of my favs!

You can pick up the hamper from Sainsbury’s, The Range and Wilkinsons

fallen beers

Stocking fillers for the beer fan

Fallen Brewing was established in 2012 by Paul and Karen Fallen and since then they’ve been brewing away their own beers. The constant focus on both quality and innovation has earnt them multiple award-winning beers and a reputation as one of Scotland’s leading craft brewers.

There are quite a few different beers on offer from Fallen Brewing* (From £2.70). There are few different types including pale ale, stout, IPA and peach and passionfruit sour. Both my dad and brother are into craft beers so these would make a great stocking filler for them.

Popcorn shed boxes

Stocking fillers for popcorn lovers

I am a huge popcorn lover, but past sweet and salted I’m not tried a lot of other flavours. Popcorn Shed has a massive selection of flavours and the Popcorn Sheds* (£4) are a great way to try a lot of flavours. Above is butterscotch which was sweet and creamy, and Pop ‘N’ Choc which is chocolate caramel popcorn with milk chocolate and Luke loved it.

But there are so many flavours including some special Christmas ones like Christmas Pudding and Cherry Bakewell. If you’re looking for stocking fillers for people who like unusual flavours or just love popcorn then this is for you.

Jackpot peanut butter

For the person who loves peanut butter

Jackpot started out as a fictional brand until founder Rupert Leigh decided to start making the peanut butter their brand was famous for. The peanut butter itself is palm-oil free and made with classic American runner peanuts, rapeseed oil and salt; nothing else.  The premium US runner peanuts come from Georgia and Virginia and give a naturally sweeter flavour.

You can grab a pot of Jackpot peanut butter* for just £5 or £7 for a personalised one, and there are even some naughty adult versions sure to make someone giggle. If you want something a bit different they also do wasabi, raspberry, CBD and roasted chestnut varieties of peanut butter.

The brand is also donating £1 from each sale to the Music Venue Trust who protect, secure and improve grassroots music venues.

ramer sponge and shower gel

Beauty stocking fillers

There’s nothing I love more than getting little practical beauty bits in my stocking/ under the tree. I’m talking about a shower gel, shampoo, face wash etc. I’ve been using Ramer Sponges for a while and the Luxury Drench Sponge* (£5.75) with a shower gel would make a great stocking filler.

The luxury drench sponge mimics the texture and feel of a natural sea sponge but it’s still soft and smooth.

Pimple patches

Practical beauty stocking fillers

I’ve seen pimple patches absolutely everywhere lately, but a lot of them seem quite pricey for what they are. The COSRX Acne Pimple Patches* (£5.99) make for a great stocking filler and come with 24 patches. There are three different sized patches in the pack depending on the size of your spot.  They come as thin clear patches that can help treat acne, acne scars and pimples.

The patches stick to the skin and seal around the spot to protect it from bacteria and dirt while keeping moisture inside. I’ve only used them overnight before when I can feel a spot coming. But as they’re clear you can wear them in the day as well. All you have to do is make sure your skin is clean before putting it on and when it turns white replace it with a new patch.

Carfume air freshener

Give the gift of scent

These luxury car air freshener’s* (£9.99) from Carfume make for a great stocking filler. You can get the original versions picked above in a variety of different colours including purple, green, blue, pink and red. Then once you’ve picked your colour it’s time to pick a scent and there are loads inspired by perfumes and aftershaves. For myself, I picked Mademe which is fresh and fruity grapefruit and lychee combined with rose and jasmine. And for Luke, I picked Savage as I know I love that scent as an aftershave. But there are loads to choose including Black Opium, Flowerbomb and Angel for her.

Each of the air fresheners comes with a glass bottle and a carved wooden top so it looks beautiful as well. All you have to do is unscrew the lid and pour in the scent to get started. And you can grab refills to change up the scent whenever you want.

Only curls clips

Hair tools as stocking fillers

In last year’s Christmas guides I included the Only Curls silk scrunchies. And ever since those guides I’ve used nothing else in my hair as they’re amazing. So this year I’m including the Only Curls Hair Clips* (£8). The clips are smooth and slide in and out of your hair without getting tangled. So there will no chance of them getting caught in your hair even if you wear them overnight.

Whether you want to clip your curls in place, or just get rid of the wispy hairs these will be practical. Plus they’re so pretty in their pink shimmery marble effect.

Sass and bell tea bag rest

For the tea lovers

I’m sure we all know someone who can’t survive the day without multiple cups of tea. The tea lovers bag dish* (£4) would make the perfect stocking filler for someone who drinks a lot of tea. As more of us are working from home now chances are people will be making loads of tea at home. So to stop worktops getting stained, or leaving a trail of teabags this tea bag dish does the job.

Not only that but it is from the British Blue Willow Floral collection at Sass and Belle and looks so pretty. Plus for tea lovers, the words are very true.

Lynx ice chill set

Stocking fillers for him

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a Lynx gift set, would it?! And this year I have the Lynx Ice Chill* set which you can pick up in B&M for just £2.99. In the set, you get a 150ml body spray and a 250ml body wash.

Unlike some of the other lynx scents, this one is super refreshing and chilling with a frozen mint and lemon scent. I love these scents for shower gels as they always feel cool on the skin and the refreshing scents help wake you up.

Stocking fillers are the one thing I have struggled with this year, I think because I have not been out shopping very often.

These are some lovely ideas, I really like the sound of the Carfume x

Yeah stocking fillers are usually those little things you pick up on impulse in the shops or supermarkets, so it has been a little tougher x

We haven’t done stockings in years! These are some cute ideas though. I’d be straight in for that Haribo Hamper and I love the cute tea bag holder. I drink so much tea, it would be perfect for me.

Some great ideas here for stocking fillers. The tea-bag dish is great, and you could combine it with a pack of good-quality tea-bags as well!
