There’s something extraordinary about jewellery. Unwrapping a small compact box on your birthday or at Christmas can bring joy to the best of women. A few years ago I opened my birthday present from Luke, and it was a beautiful diamond pendant, and I couldn’t have been happier. The phrase ‘Diamonds are a girl’s best friend’ is very true.

Even if you wear more fashion jewellery day-to-day, there’s nothing more special than having something diamond. I think diamond earrings are a practical choice when buying diamonds because they are an item you can wear to dress up an outfit, but you can also wear them in a more casual setting. It’s nice, like a big pendant where it’s quite noticeable. Earrings can be as subtle as you want. This means they’ll get a lot of wear.

How to style diamond earrings

There are lots of different ways you can style diamond earrings depending on the look you want to achieve and the outfit you’re wearing it with.

If you’re going for an outfit that is quite busy or has a lot of detailing it’s worth opting for an earring that is simpler like a classic stud, or a small hoop. This way the earring won’t look like it’s trying too hard. But if you’re wearing quite a plain or single-coloured outfit then go for a longer drop or a cluster to really add some sparkle to your outfit.

How you wear your hair will affect how you style the diamond earrings. If you’ve got your hair down then something small might not be noticeable so you’d be better off with a drop or larger hoop. But halo or cluster earrings can work well if your hair is pulled back to show off your face more than studs.

But the most important thing about styling diamond earrings is wearing something you love that holds lovely memories. For most of us, diamonds are something we get for special occasions; birthdays, weddings, anniversaries etc. So they’ll be something you treasure for life.

Do you own any diamond earrings?

So many beautiful pieces. I’ve always loved diamond earrings but despite many hints to my husband I don’t actually own any! I love the black diamond ones that you’ve featured.

I only have rings and a necklace, no earrings yet. But I’m hoping to get some for my wedding in a few years time, that seems like a good excuse x

Great advice, I currently don’t own any but I would really like some for my wedding. I have been saving money in the wedding fund and plan to treat myself. I figured I could justify it because I never imagined I’d get married and I know that if my Mum was here she’d insist I had some, so they are a gift from me to me but with my Mum in mind x

    • Rhian Westbury says:

That’s such a nice idea, and you’ll think of your mum when you wear them as you know she’d have bought them for you otherwise x

Some really good advice here. I don’t have my ears pierced but I do have a few sets of diamond earnings & other jewellery which are heirlooms passed on to me by my grandmother, which I treasure.
