The summer is almost here, and for some people, that means moving home. The excitement is palpable; you will soon be living in a brand new home in a brand new area; it will be time to open a new chapter in your life chapter. OK, so that’s the exciting stuff; in reality, there’s a lot of work to do, like getting conveyancing quotes and organising the big move. Below we look at how to take the hassle out of your home move this summer.

Plan your move early

Moving home isn’t as easy and straightforward as it sounds. The effort you make goes beyond buying, packing and organising your things; you also have to make sure you get a good deal on conveyancing, which is why conveyancing quotes are recommended.

It’s also a good idea to plan your move as early as you can to avoid any mistake or mishaps. Planning early also makes sure you get your move done quickly and with minimal fuss. That’s what everyone wants, right?

How to move hassle-free: Always hire a removal service

Some people swear by a removals service for the big home move; others think it’s a total waste of money when it can all get done by you. Yes, it does save money, but it increases your stress levels.

The answer to making your home move fast and easy is to hire a removals service. Always do this if you want a hassle-free moving experience with limited stress. It means all you have to do is organise the itinerary.

Start your packing early

Some people wait until a few weeks before the big move before packing; others wait until the last minute. It might be fine for them. The trouble is packing last minute doesn’t give you enough time to get everything in order.

There’s so much to do when moving home that if you leave the packing to the last minute, it all feels a bit rushed and out of control. You tend to forget important items and processes that become a hassle.

How to move hassle-free: Keep your IKEA bags

Chances are you’ve been to IKEA once or twice if you’re moving home. They’re the best place to go for convenient new furniture that fits in with any interior decor. The bonus of going there are the bags.

IKEA bags are big and wide; they’re also made of super-strong stuff that doesn’t easily rip or degrade. Most of your stuff will be removal containers, but for everything else, there are IKEA bags.

Label your boxes

If you really want to make your moving hassle-free this summer, don’t forget to label your boxes. This is something many people forget to do as it seems like a minor thing in the grand scheme of moving.

When you label your boxes in the right way – that means on the side and not the top – you can more easily categorise them and put them in the right rooms on arrival. This makes unpacking half as hard as packing.
