Now and again all of us need time off to relax and unwind. If you have managed to get a day off this week; you might already be wondering how you are going to spend it.

Today we want to share some of the fun ways for you to spend a day off and make the most of your free time this week.

Learn a new skill

If you are looking for something new to occupy your time, a day off might be the ideal time to try it. Consider a few different skills you could learn such as learn to play guitar, learn to paint, or learn to knit. Try out something new today and you might just discover the perfect hobby for you.

Spend your day off baking some goodies

Another fun way to spend your time off is to bake some amazing goodies, there are some great recipes out there for you to try, and being able to enjoy something sweet at the end of it is just a bonus!

Here is one great cookie recipe for you to try on your day off:

Chocolate chip cookies

Ingredients:

  1. Cream butter and sugar together until light.
  2. Beat in the egg, followed by your dry ingredients.
  3. Chop the chocolate roughly and add to the bowl, mix until incorporated.
  4. Measure balls between 100-120g and place on a baking sheet. Freeze or chill for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 190C.
  6. Bake your cookie for 14–16 minutes until golden brown.

Have a lie-in on your day off

One of the best ways for you to spend a day off is to have a lie-in. When we live busy day-to-day lives we all know how hard it is to sleep, and on your day off you should allow your body to catch up on rest. Sleep in a little later and bring your TV or tablet to the bedroom, allowing yourself to wake up with a bit of Netflix or YouTube. This is a great way to relax and enjoy your time of peace and quiet.

Enjoy a duvet day

Speaking of bringing your TV into the bedroom – why not make a whole day of it and enjoy a duvet day at home this week? We all need to relax, and sometimes doing absolutely nothing is the best medicine. Take the chance today to bring some snacks up to your bed – or bring your duvet to the sofa, and binge-watch your favourite shows.

Get out in nature

If the day is sunny and bright, why not consider taking the opportunity to go out in the sunshine today? Getting out in the fresh air is always the best medicine and you’ll be able to enjoy a world away from work and the stresses of your life. Take a walk, grab a pint at the pub, or have a picnic by a lake. Enjoy being in nature today.
