I love a good Secret Santa as it’s a fun way to gift a present to a group of people like your work colleagues or friendship group without buying for everyone. Plus you get the fun of trying to guess who bought it for you. And hiding who you bought for. So I’m a big fan. But Secret Santa can be quite stressful as often you’ll open the presents up together. So you want to make sure yours is really good.
If you’re struggling to think of a good present idea for a Secret Santa then I’ve got you covered.
We all have that friend/ work colleague/ family member who is obsessed with chocolate. And usually, they have their ultimate favourite that they swear by. You can’t go wrong with buying them a personalised hamper of those chocolates so they’ve got a stash ready to go.
I have the Personalised Orange Twirl Favourites Hamper* (£24.99) because me and Luke are both obsessed with orange chocolate, and the twirls especially are top tier chocolate. There are other hampers to choose from as well or a mixed Cadburys box if you can’t choose. On the box, you can add both a name and your own message. Although looking back on mine it reads more like Luke needs to keep his hands off. So think through your message beforehand.
Getting a Secret Santa gift related to someone’s hobby is always a good shout. And if you have a book lover you might struggle to buy them books as you don’t know what they’ve read or have at home. So the Mr Bookish Table Lamp* (£36) could be a great option. This is a really nice table lamp made from natural wood that you can put by your bedside or anywhere else. But it also has a stand to keep your current or future reads on.
It’s such a unique style of lamp and a really nice thing to have for anyone who loves reading. They’ll always know where their book is! The lamp comes with an LED bulb inside so you don’t need to buy one y0urself which is a win-win.
If you’re looking for a gift for a beauty lover or someone who loves nice smellies then the Squeaky Clean Gift Set* (£14.50) is a great option. You can choose from two signature scents from No Secrets, one is fresh and uplifting with bergamot, eucalyptus, lavender and more, or four which is more sensual and calming with geranium, neroli, patchouli and more.
In the set you get the brands brand new all-in-one shampoo and body bar, so great for those looking to try a shampoo bar and move away from plastic packaging. There’s also a mini jar of Hand & Body butter which will leave your hands feeling soft and silky. All of the items are made from ingredients that are 100% derived from plants as well.
I don’t know about you but over the past year or so I’ve been getting more green-fingered and absolutely love my house plants. But one thing I always worry about is watering them the right amount. If you’re buying a present for someone who is a fellow plant lover then take a look at the Water from a crystal* (£14.99) gadget.
The clever hand-blown glass crystal just needs to be filled with water and placed in a plant pot with the cork stopped facing down. What it then does is drip water into your plant’s soil over the course of 3-4 days. So this works really well for plants that might not react to full water too well. It also looks super cool (although due to the glass I did have to photo it inside the box so you could actually see what it looked like!)
I’m just a little bit obsessed with this KitchenCraft seagrass planter* (£9.79) with its rainbow stripes running through it. It’s a great sized planter for a succulent, small houseplant or even herbs. Perhaps something to add to your home office to brighten up the space.
Crafted from seagrass it’s an eco-friendly choice of material as it’s naturally renewable and fast-growing. Plus it’s super durable so a great choice for a plant to live in. There’s a liner inside so you don’t have to worry about water leaking out when you top up your plant inside.
If someone was buying a Secret Santa gift for me I’m sure Disney would come straight into their mind. Either Nightmare before Christmas or Alice in Wonderland as I’m obsessed with them both. If y0u know someone who is also obsessed with Disney or has that film they love then check out Gift Giving All Wrapped Up.
To celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Disney’s animated classic Alice in Wonderland I had to pick up something of my favourite character. There are three versions of the Disney showcase Cheshire Cat* (£19.95) and I have the one where he is leaning on his tail and it’s so cute.
This is a great Secret Santa present if you’re mailing them out to people, or just a fun little gift to show someone you’re thinking of them. The personalised cake in a card* is a great present for someone who has a sweet tooth. You can personalise the message inside and choose which two treats are inside.
And there’s so much choice. I opted for Red Velvet Cake which was moist and super yummy, and Jaffa Cake Slice which had such a nice orange tang. But there’s also Chocolate Fudge Cake, Victoria Sponge, Lemon Drizzle, Coffee Cake, Carrot Cake, Millionaires Shortbread, Brownie, and so much more including sweets. But the thing that is great about it is there are both vegan and gluten-free options to choose from.
If you’re buying for a work colleague I’m sure there will be at least one, if not more than coffee addicts in your office. Black Insomnia is a great option for those who like their coffee strong as it’s been proven to be the World’s Strongest Coffee with fur times more caffeine than your average cup of coffee. So it’s guaranteed to keep people awake and switched on. And the coffee tastes really nice as well with caramel, hazelnut and macadamia aromas. And a dark chocolate flavour, so it’s not too bitter.
You can get the coffee in loads of different variations including both classic and full if you don’t want to go in too extreme. I have the ground coffee and mug bundle* (£19.99) but you can get it in bean form and even as pods for your Nespresso machine.
If gin is more someones drink of choice and they love cats then these Cat Gin Glasses* (£25) are a perfect present choice. They’re designed Purrfectly like a classic balloon gin glass but with a very cute cat design. They’re guaranteed to make anyone smile. These types of glasses are my favourite for drinking gin out of as it’s the right size for ice, garnishes, gin and plenty of mixer.
They have quite a long stem so they’re really nice to hold and this means you’re not holding the actual glass and warming up the drink. Despite looking quite dainty they feel really strong. Of course, if someone isn’t a cat fan, or is more of a cocktail, shot or prosecco drinker then Drinkind have loads of other beautiful glassware.
If you’re buying for someone you know loves a bottle of fizz, then these BarCraft ribbed champagne flutes* (£21.99) would be a great choice. Pair it up with a bottle to go with it and you have a double winner. Good glassware is the kind of thing you keep for a long time to become part of someone’s collection.
These glasses are super simple with their ridged design but really effective and elegant. The glasses themselves are hand-made using high-quality, lead-free glass and they have enough weight to them to feel nice to hold, without being too heavy.
If you know someone who loves baking and spending time in the kitchen and an apron is a great gift idea. But not just any old apron, a Polka Pants DOT Apron* (From £45). DOT is a collection of bespoke aprons designs to give a bit of glamour to everyday routine whether that’s weekend brunch or Friday night bakes.
They’re full of bright colours, beautiful textures and patterns. I have an apron from The Frill Story which is a collection of hyper-feminine aprons with big frills so you can feel fancy when you’re in the kitchen. The actual material is a nice thickness, and it’s so comfortable to wear in the kitchen.
If you’re buying a gift for someone who has their own home or just loves homeware then a neon sign is a great gift idea. Neon 87 offer a huge range of different neon sizes, and you can even create your very own. But the mini neon signs are a perfect size as they still pack a punch and are super bright.
We have the koala neon sign* (£98) which is absolutely adorable and y0u can choose which colour to get it in. It was actually Luke that picked the pink and I really love it. But you can get neutral warm and white colours alongside all the colours of the rainbow.
The signs all come with a 2-metre long power cable so you can position it where ever you want. And I’m sure you’ll agree that it looks very cute.
If you know someone who just loves to cook then a practical kitchen gift is a great idea. Every kitchen needs a good kitchen thermometer so why not go for the Taylor Pro digital step stem thermometer* (£20.49). Whether it’s to check your homemade burgers or roasted chicken is cooked, or it’s to check the temperature of the oil before frying, or chocolate as you’re tampering it, a thermometer is something you can’t be without.
This one has a super bright LED display so it’s really easy to read, even at awkward angles when you’re leaning into the fridge. The probe has a tapered design so you’ll have a smaller hole in your food.
