All The Food And Movies Around Christmas- December 2021 Overview

Christmas tree in Bond Street

Welcome 2022. Even just writing that feels pretty strange tbh. December 2021 was a really fun month but it’s always over way too quickly.  But I did have a lovely Christmas and New Year. It was pretty simple and we were very lucky that none of us got COVID as it seems my social feeds were just full of people catching it. Our festive period was always going to be quite simple and small but we’re lucky we didn’t have to make any last minute changes.

Me and Luke are both now boostered, but we’ll see how the next month goes.

December 2021 was the month to celebrate with friends

One of the things I love about December is seeing loads of the people I love and using it as an excuse to celebrate. At the start of the month three of my friends came round to see the house and meet our kittens. And it was so nice having people at the house as it had been a while. I had a really yummy Lebanese meal with some of my school friends to celebrate health and the festive period.

Our proper work meal out got cancelled, but a few of us went for a Dishoom lunch. Any excuse for some yummy food and great company, we were in there for over 4 hours! I saw a bunch of other friends over the week before and after Christmas at their houses, at ours or out for dinner. And it was so nice to see everyone.

We also managed to have my parents round to see Christmas in the house. And Luke’s family round in the week leading up to Christmas. Last year due to the restriction changes they didn’t get to come, but this year they got to see the kittens as well so win win.

The Knot afternoon tea ice cream

A beautiful festive day in London

At the start of the month I had a festive day in London with my bestie. And it started off with a great afternoon tea at The Knot in Kensington. For £30 you got a hot drink, bagel, popcorn, churros and ice cream and it was so tasty. We then wandered round Covent Garden and Bond Street looking at all of the Christmas displays and lights which made me feel so festive.

After my friend left I did some shopping, and then headed to Leicester Square and ticked off a foodie place from my list. And my evening finished with a showing of Mary Poppins which was so good. I am a huge theatre/ musical fan and hope I get to see plenty more in 2022.

Movies and everything else in December 2021

Me and my friend headed to the cinema to see The Nightmare Before Christmas. I never tire of seeing the movie on the big screen, it just makes me very happy. Me and Luke went to see the new Spiderman movie which was excellent. And then we finished off with a post Christmas trip to see The Kingsman which was also excellent.

After The Kingsman me and Luke headed for our festive meal at Bar and Block in Milton Keynes. We usually do a pre-Christmas meal but decided to spread it out and go after this year.

After seeing loads of people go to Lap of Lights at Silverstone me and Luke headed there in December. You get to slowly drive around the actual formula 1 track and there were light displays set up all the way round. It was really fun and festive, but it was also so cool to be on the actual track that the cars go round.

December went far too quickly for my liking. Your kittens are so cute and those ice creams at Knots Churros look so good.

Ooh, I can’t wait to visit London again. I last visited in August of 2001 and I was supposed to go this past summer (Covid changed all that). The Knot sounds like something I need to check out!

I have always loved both Christmas and New Year’s but I have to say that I equally love when they are all over with too.
