A Long Weekend Of Sunshine, Then Turning Into Winter- September 2022 Overview

Me in the pool in Crete

Happy October everyone. With September 2022 over we’re down to the last three months of the year, and my favourite months of the year. We have all the Autumnal fun to look forward to, candles and hot chocolates, cosy reading days and jumpers galore. But I will admit it had suddenly gotten so cold so quickly and I’m not that big of a fan.

It’s been a strange month with the Queen passing at the start of the month, then all the fun with the government and the pound crashing. But it’s always nice to focus on the nice from the month which is what I’m going to do.

Entertainment in September 2022

During September I went to one live show and that was to see McFly in St Albans. It was part of a cool festival called ‘Pub in the Park’ which featured loads of foodie bits. But unfortunately I didn’t get there early enough to make the most of it. But me and my friend were there for McFly and they didn’t disappoint. Their whole set was really fun and energetic and it reminded me why I love them so much.

I headed to the cinema twice during September 2022. Firstly me and Luke headed to see Three Thousand Years of Longing which was an interesting movie, very different from what we usually see. But I am glad we headed to see it because it was quite out of our comfort zones.

Then very much in my comfort zone was Ticket to Paradise with Julia Roberts and George Clooney. I absolutely loved this movie, it was funny and feel good and just what I needed.

During September 2022 I feel like we’re watching a lot of TV series, and quite frankly it’s a bit overwhelming! There’s Rings of Power on Amazon Prime, then House of Dragons on Sky, then Ms Marvel and now Andor on Disney+. And that’s without The Great British Bake Off starting again. I’m loving all of the shows, but I am quite excited for when some finish and we’re not watching a million shows at once.

Me and my friends

A great beginning of the month

September 2022 started off so well. Over the first weekend we headed to a local restaurant for a massive catch up with my gang of school friends accompanied by their partners, and children. It was the first time I got to met one of my friends babies which was so nice. It makes me so happy when we all get together as we’ve known each other for over 20 years, more in some of our cases.

A few days later I headed to the Harry Potter Studios with my friend. I haven’t been there in over 7 years so I knew there was a lot more on offer and a lot to explore and it was so much fun. Last time I went I hadn’t even watched all of the movies *oops* The whole thing was fascinating and I could have spent all day exploring.

Then just before I went to see McFly I spent a day with my work team eating pizza and doing not one but two escape rooms. We went to an escape room in Bedford which was actually really fun, and the rooms we did were really interesting.

Crete with Jet2Holidays

I was very lucky to work with Jet2Holidays in September 2022 which gave me and Luke the opportunity to spend a few days in Crete as part of the collaboration. We headed out on Friday and came back Tuesday, but got three solid sunshine filled days to relax. We both agreed that it was something we both needed, a chance to get away and switch off.

So for the main three days we had breakfast, then spent the next seven or eight hours laying on sun beds. All we did was read, listen to things or cool off in the pool. It reminded me how much I do need to switch off every so often. So we’ve said we want to make it a priority to have a relaxing holiday each year if we can afford it.

Home, wedding and fitness updates in September 2022

We have been making some good progress in our front garden. We only need one more day to get the area around the door finished. Then one day to get turf down and we’re about done. I’m so excited to have a nice, neat and good looking front. I’m not even thinking about our back garden yet.

Where we had a leak in our kitchen diner we’ve been patching up the wall and ceiling now it’s fixed. But we decided as we’ll need to repaint the wall that we’d do a bit of a feature space. We’ve done some patch tests and that’s my next job to get painting.

With our wedding we did the official giving notice to the local council which was interesting. I understood why they asked some questions like have you been married before, genders at birth etc. But asking what my parents did for a living felt like a strange one. But it’s done anyway.

Then finally I hit some milestones in my fitness journey. I got to my 450th ride on my Peloton bike, and 300th strength workout through Peloton within the same week. I am so proud of myself for keeping my exercise going and sticking with it. Yes some weeks aren’t great, and some weeks I really don’t feel like it. But I always feel great afterwards.

What did you get up to in September 2022?

We have gone from winter into the hottest summer EVER. We skipped spring completely – we are in between 2 massive heat waves at the moment.

I think that’s us, but the opposite, we’ve kind of skipped Autumn as it’s gotten so cold so quick x
