Seven Food and Drink Gift Ideas – Christmas 2023

Tracklements cheese collection of chutneys

Items in this food and drink gift guide have been provided in exchange for inclusion but all thoughts and opinions are my own

It’s week three of my Christmas gift guide series and I’m back again. This week it’s all about food and drink related items. As a foodie family there tends to be a lot of gifts that I buy that fall into this category, and I love receiving items like this too.

As I get older I’m getting more excited about the practical kitchenware gifts than I ever have. And when I’m buying for others I love to find treats that they’d never buy for themselves. Hopefully this guide can provide you with a bit of inspiration.

Food and drink gift perfect for after Christmas dinner

We’re huge Tracklements fans in our household and I try and get my dad something from them every year. By now he’s probably tried the whole collection. This year I have the cheese collection (£18.20) which features four different condiments to go with the after dinner cheese board.

I’ve had the carmelised onion marmalade before and it’s one of my favourites. The set also comes with three chutneys; apple and cider brandy, green tomato and apricot and ginger. I’m hoping he opens this up when the cheese board comes out so I can try the rest of the collection.

Universal mill

A great gift for someone who loves to cook

There are so many kitchen gadgets out there and not enough cupboard space so I always like looking for gadgets that can do more than one thing. The universal mill from microplane has three interchangeable blades; fine, coarse and ribbon which can be used on anything from chocolate and cheese to garlic and spices. The blades themselves are stainless steel and really durable so it’s the type of gadget that will last a long time.

It’s a pretty small gadget for something that does so much. Not only can you use it in the kitchen when cooking, but it looks nice enough that you can bring it to the tablet with cheese or freshly ground pepper.

Kitchenaid roaster

A gift for someone whose a whizz in the kitchen

We have quite a lot of cookware, but have gotten so much use out of our KitchenAid dish. The stonewear construction promotes even heat distrubution, and it’s scratch resistant.

What I love about it is that it has a lid, so if you’re batch cooking or have leftovers you can just pot the lid on and put it straight into the fridge. And then you can pull it straight out into the microwave when you want to eat it.

The KitchenAid collection comes in three different colours; almond, pistachio and red and three different sizes. We have the medium 26cm dish in almond (£45) which is a great size for everyday use for me and Luke.

Swizzles box of sweets

Food and drink gifts for someone with a sweet tooth

It wouldn’t be Christmas without some sweet treats and Swizzles have so many yummy options. The sweet shop favourites box has a bit of something for everyone including refreshers and drumstick squashies which are my favourites.

You can get the sweet shop favourites tub personalised with the recipiants name on it as well which is such a nice idea. And you can buy individual pots if they have a favourite sweet.

I love a drumstick but for some reason the lolly stick just gets annoying, and you can get pots of just the chews. I had to ration myself when they arrived with me so I didn’t eat through the whole pot in one go.

Cranes cider

A fruity cider gift set

I’ve never liked beer or lager, but cider is a drink I love, especially the fruity ones. And Cranes have a great collection of fruity drinks. Plus as they utilise the sweetness of the fruit they have 30% less calories compared to other brand leaders.

You can get a cider gift set (£15.99) with three bottles and a glass and give you a chance to try three of their flavours. The set comes with raspberry and pomegranate, blueberry and apple, and cranberry and lime. If I had to pick the raspberry and pomegranate would be my favourite.

Portfuna

Food and drink gifts for someone who loves a tipple

My dad loves trying out new drinks so I’m always on the look out for something slightly unusual for him. so this year he’s getting a bottle of Portafortuna XO.

Portafortuna XO is a port and brandy mix, enhanced with the best cognac and natural ingredients. It’s designed as an after dinner liqeur with tastes of dark chocolate, burnt orange, rich vanilla and black cherry alongside the cognac.

The 70cl bottle (£38.50) comes in a lovely box and each bottle has a nazar on it which is the charm of good luck. The glass eye is meant to ward off negative energy and ill fortune, so you can cheers to good luck.

Personalised whiskey glass

A personalised gift to keep

Boutique gifts have a lovely selection of personalised gifts that you can choose from and you can’t go wrong with a glass. The Christmas whiskey tumbler (£21.99)is madee from Blenheim lead crystal with diamond cut details around it.

The glass features a festive stag and baubles and you can personalise it with anyone’s name on it. I was really impressed at the weight of the glass, it feels substantial in the hand without being too heavy.
