Just like that November 2023 is over and we’re in the final month of the year. I had a great month, lots of fun events and times with friends. But the weather really seems to have turned over the past month. As I sit here to write this post I have got the start of a cold which I am not happy about. Although I’d rather have it now than over Christmas.
I love the lead up to December as things feel a little less hectic, but still festive in the final few weeks. Here’s what I got up to in November 2023.
The month started off with an epic show at the O2 Arena from Fall Out Boy. We were standing and had pretty good spots as well. I’ve loved Fall Out Boy for so long and this was just such an incredible show, they even played three songs from their first album which you rarely ever hear live.
The following week I headed to the 20 year anniversary show of the first Finch album. I actually remember going to the 10 year anniversary show and it doesn’t feel like a decade has passed since then. The show was great and reminded me how much I love the album.
Finally near the end of the month four of us headed into Camden to see Bob Vylan. We first saw them a few years back and they’re such an incredible live band. Their sound is pretty unique blending punk, grime, hip hop and rock, and I love it. The show was pretty rowdy but we got a good spot in the end and didn’t get too squished.
I headed to the cinema twice during November, firstly to see the new Disney movie Wish. I really enjoyed it, it was pretty wholesome and had some really catchy songs. Then later in the month me and Luke went to see The Marvels. I didn’t have high expectations for the movie, but it was actually really good. I loved the visuals and the comedic aspect that Miss Marvel had, and overall it was really good.
Near the start of the month it was the annual Young Adult Literature Convention aka YALC. Me and two of my friends headed to the Olympia for two days of bookish fun. I met a whole load of authors during signings, came away with a lot of bookish merch and just had a fab time.
As YALC was a long (and tiring) weekend with friends I actually didn’t read as much during November 2023. But of the books I did finish I read some great ones.
I am one of those people who puts up their decorations around the middle of November. I have to acclimatise the cats to the decor and even then they can still get over excited. But it just makes me really happy to have up, so why not do it early. It means I get to enjoy it for even longer.
Due to people’s diaries I had my first Christmas catch up at the end of November with my school friends. It was a great day of catching up and eating lots of yummy food. This was the one day of the month where I really let go with the calorie counting and ate everything I wanted.
Over the month I’ve had a few other meals out and catch ups with friends, some of which I now won’t see again before Christmas.
We finally finished a project that had been put off for a long time, wallpapering our downstairs loo. My wonderful dad came around one Sunday and hung the paper for us and it makes me so happy when I walk in. We got jungle themed paper and it just looks awesome. It’s now the only room which is 100% complete without any tiny little jobs to do.
Luke and his dad have been making good progress with the garage as the shells of the walls are now up. It’s so much easier to visualise how the different spaces will look, and by the first weekend in December I’m hoping the walls will be fully built.
Ooh. Jungle themed wallpaper sounds like fun. You’ll have to show us that at some point!
I want to be you! The trio of shows sounds amazing and something I would have enjoyed also. Enjoy your holiday – the tree looks great.
I really can’t believe how fast time is going! I feel like Christmas will be here before we know it. It sounds like you had a really great month.
Time is going way too quickly for my liking x
Fall Out Boy at the O2 Arena, the 20-year anniversary show of the first Finch album, and the unique blend of punk, grime, hip hop, and rock with Bob Vylan in Camden ā what a lineup! Despite the start of a cold, it’s fantastic to hear you made the most of the month. Wishing you a cozy and festive December ahead!
It’s so exciting getting ready for the holidays. The tree looks so festive and pretty! Sounds like you had a great November too! Hope you had a wonderful December and Christmas season ^_^
Wow you have had a busy month!. Xmas seems like itās right around the corner so weāre trying to do as much as we can and make as many memories , I canāt lie, Iām really jealous youāve seen the fall out boy!
They’re so amazing live, never disappoint x
Time sure does go by fast! Feels like just yesterday I couldn’t escape the heat!!
It’s quite scary how quickly it’s going x
Looks like you had a busy November month. We are so excited for the holidays. Have a great December and Christmas
Early Christmas Catch-ups are always the best! Sounds like you had a lot on over November.
I like Holiday Season lights. I put them up everywhere! Having an artificial and pre-lit tree also helps for me to set it all up in advance.
When we eventually replace our artificial tree I’d love to get a pre-lit one. Then it would be one tree we don’t have to put lights on x
