Boyd Hampers Review: A Surprise Full Of Treats

My favourite type of delivery is a foodie delivery, especially a surprise foodie delivery. So when I opened the door to a massive parcel from Boyd Hampers I couldn’t have been more excited.
I love giving (and receiving) hampers as they’re typically not something you’d buy yourself. But you can pick the right kind of package to suit the recipients tastes including cheese hampers, fruit hampers, chocolate hampers or ones full of snacks like the one I received.
A foodies paradise
I received the Ashbourne Hamper which is filled to the brim with treats and snacks including:
- Brown Bag Crisps West Country Farmhouse cheddar & onion crisps,
- Cartwright & Butler chocolate wafer rounds,
- Kingsdown elderflower sparkle,
- Linden Lady milk chocolate covered marshmallows,
- Love Popcorn toffee sharing bag,
- Maxwell & Franks chocolate cake,
- Miller’s Grate Britain cheddar crackers,
- Mr Filbert’s sea salt & herb mixed nuts,
- Olives Et Al Pistou green olives,
- Otter Vale apple with westcountry cider chutney,
- Radfords worlds best crumbly salted caramel fudge box,
- The Kindness Bakery cheese & chive oatcakes bites,
- Van Roy mint creams, and
- Prosecco Brut Ca’Vescovo.
There’s a really good mixture of sweet and savory goodies in the hamper which I appreciated. And the whole thing came in a beautiful basket. But hampers don’t always have to be as indulgent, you can even get small letterbox hampers to send someone as a little treat. How happy would you be to open up the post and have a box of snacks or chocolate? I know I would!
Some of my favourites from the hamper
Everything in the hamper was incredibly tasty but the three stand outs for me were the salted caramel fudge, the cheddar & onion crisps and the chocolate cake.
The caramel fudge was so moreish, I could have eaten about ten boxes of the stuff. Each piece was soft and gooey as you’d expect from fudge, without being too sweet in taste. Possibly some of the best fudge I have eaten.
Sticking with sweet treats the chocolate cake from Maxwell & Franks was another standout. It was so soft and moist that it tasted like it was virtually freshly baked. And it was a great size to be able to cut up and have across multiple portions.
Then for savory the cheddar & onion crisps from Brown Bag Crisps were the best. There’s something so simple about a cheese and onion crisp, but when it’s done well you can’t beat it. And these were just so moreish as well. Luke had to intervene otherwise I’d have eaten the whole bag in one sitting.

As I write this post, almost all of the goodies from our hamper have been eaten. But I’ve now found some new foodie favourites that I’d never have tried had they not been included in the hamper.
And with the willow storage basket that everything came in I can recreate my own hamper for someone else.
