*MJs Diner provided me with the air fryer meals, but all words and opinions are my own
Do you ever have those evenings when you just don’t fancy cooking and the temptation to get a takeaway is high? I get this feeling most weeks, sometimes after a long day at work, or when Luke’s out for the evening and I don’t want to cook for one.
I love having tasty easy-to-cook options in the freezer for just those occasions. And I’m now stocked up thanks to MJ’s Diner who have launched the very first-t0-market range of air fryer ready meals.
The air fryer-ready meals are available in several retailers, such as Farmfoods and Poundland. After a successful launch founder Noel is already in talks with other retailers such as Morrisons, Sainsburys and Home Bargains to expand the reach.
There are loads of different options including a bunch of ‘fakeaways’ and each pack is priced at either £1.99 or £2.49. Every meal in the range comes in at under 915kcals, but I chose the ones under 610 kcals which were:
The other options that I haven’t tried include:
You can have a whole bag to yourself which is a really good meal size, or you can choose to share. One night me and Luke weren’t that hungry so we shared a chicken nuggets and chips. And it was just what we needed.
All of the frozen ready meals cook in under 20 minutes, with some ready in as little as 15. All you need to do is pour it in and let your air fryer do all the work.
While the meals are developed for the air fryer they can still be cooked in a conventional oven if this is more convenient.
There’s no stopping you from adding cupboard staples to the meals, but you don’t need to. Just whack it all in the air fryer and you’re set up for a meal.
While they aren’t going to sort you out for every meal, they’re great just throw in when you don’t want to cook.
Founder Noel said: “This product range hasn’t been designed to be a healthy meal for the family. It’s here to help those who are time-poor and want something that won’t blow their calorie count but is a quick, tasty, and cheap option for an evening meal or breakfast.
We use our air fryer all the time, and it’s very rare we actually use our main oven. This is mainly because an air fryer is so much more energy efficient than it’s larger counterpart. Air fryers are quicker to heat up and because it’s a smaller area it needs less energy to heat up and maintain the temperature.
Noel said “Air fryers are now a kitchen staple. They’ve proven they are not a gimmick or a fad. They are here to stay and are helping us Brits enjoy those treat meals more regularly because nothing is deep fried – so you still get that desired crunch and crispiness, just without the oil and fat.”
Thanks for these ideas. I’m always looking for easy and great air fryer dinner recipes.

These sound very handy to have. I do often get that feeling, especially after a busy day where I don’t feel like cooking – takeaways then become tempting but end up being very expensive. These seem like great options.
Oh yeah, we’ve really cut down on takeaways but still spend more than we should on them x
