Gift guides are back for 2025 which means Christmas planning is in full swing. I say the same thing every year but how is Christmas 2025 approaching us so quickly?! I have no idea. And this year I have a totally new gift guide, which is for kids (and babies). Before this year I’ve never had a need/ want to do a guide for young ones, but with Scarlett I do.
Here are a few items to inspire you this year.
This year is Scarlett’s first Christmas and I can’t wait to start dressing her up in all the cute seasonal outfits. Blade and Rose have such a great collection of clothes including a beautiful seasonal range.
I have the Christmas dress* (£18) in Scarlett’s size (6-12 months), and a zip up romper* (£18) in the same pattern in Scarlett’s cousins size (3-6 months). So this year they’re going to be matching and I can not wait! The clothing is such nice quality in a cotton-rich knit, and having already washed them ready they washed really well as well. I know kids don’t get too much wear out of Christmas items so as soon as it gets to December she’s going to be in hers as often as I can wash it!
The romper is my favourite kind with a two way zip. This makes dressing and nappy changing so much easier. And the zips have a little pocket at the neck for comfort, so there’s no chance of it poking them.
When kids are small they grow of things so quickly, so sometimes gifts for kids need to be practical. Sleepsuits are essential to keep the little ones warm and cosy during the night, and this Unicorn sleeping suit* (£45) is absolutely adorable. The sizing is quite open so we have a 3-12 month suit which is ready for when she gets a little taller.
The sleep suits are made from 95% organic cotton for the comfiest design. It has fold over feet for extra warmth and comfort and a two-way zip to make nighttime changes even easier. Even though Scarlett’s legs don’t quite fit in the suit properly we have used it a few times already and it washes really well.
We’re looking to start Scarlett in swimming lessons, but the worry is always what to dress them in. If you’re wondering the same then make sure you check out Water Babies. Not only do they do swimwear but they do changing accessories and so much more. We have the after swim waterproof onesie* (£26) designed to keep kids warm on the journey home from the swimming pool.
It’s got a super soft snuffly fleece lining so no matter how cool they may be after this will warm them up. It’s waterproof and windproof, perfect if you’re walking home, and it even has a large hood. If you’re driving back it’s lightweight and slimline so it can be worn safely in their car seat as well.
I love a good game which has an educational side and these two games from Orchard Toys do just that.
I’m really hoping Scarlett becomes a Bluey fan because I know I’d be able to sit through episodes. And the Bluey Fancy Restaurant game* (£12) comes from the ‘Fancy Restaurant’ episode. The game encourages memory and matching skills where you match pairs of food cards to create a special meal for Mum and Dad’s dinner date. It’s full of imaginative role-playing so this will be kept for when Scarlett’s a little older.
One that we’ll be able to use a little earlier is the Peter Rabbit posting game* (£12). This encourages colour recognition and matching skills as you match and post colourful cards into the houses. There’s three ways to play the game for extra variety and progression.
Scarlett is at the age where anything that makes a noise she’s all over. And she’s also at the stage of grabbing and holding things so this Dobby ring rattle* (£9.99) is perfect. The Harry Potter range also features Harry and Hedwig, but Dobby was the cutest in my opinion.
The rattle is quite a gentle sound so it won’t get on your nerves as baby shakes it. And the whole thing is made out of soft plush so the texture will be nice for baby as well.
This is such a nice little gift when you want to buy a present but don’t want to get anything big.
Again another educational one which will help kids develop their fine motor skills while also exploring colours, patterns and sorting. Plus-Plus is designed and produced in Denmark in a factory that’s powered by 100% green energy from wind power. The actual pieces are 100% recyclable and made from food-approved plastic so it doesn’t matter if kids put them in their mouths!
The bloom* (9.99 Euro) features larger blocks suitable for kids 1+. The size makes them quite easy to hold and play and you can make a beautiful flower from the pieces, and whatever else your heart desires.
The T-rex* (£7.99 euro). is made from smaller pieces suitable for kids 3+. The pieces can be combined in so many ways giving kids the freedom to let their imaginations run wild.
I really love the blocks! I’ve always been a fan of blocks for kids. They promote so much creativity.
The dress and the jammies are super adorable. We always dressed the kids in outfits like that for the season when they were little.
All those gift ideas are awesome. But the dress is perfect for my niece, save it.
How cute is that dress, I am definitely sending the link to my friend who has a 5 month old grandaughter
