Christmas Gift Guide For Her | 2017

There are now less than two weeks until Christmas and I’m sure there’s plenty of people out there who haven’t finished their Christmas shopping.

Instead of letting you all worry about what to get, I’ve got a list of some of the best gifts for her which I have found.

White Christmas Hand Tied Flowers – £34.99

I don’t know about you guys but a bunch of flowers always makes me smile and is a great way of brightening up your house. They can also make a fantastic Christmas present especially for that person who is incredibly hard to buy for. Perhaps your grandmother who has everything, or your cousin who you don’t see that often and don’t know what to get for.

Beards and Daisies have a fantastic Christmas bouquet* this year which is modelled on last year’s which won a best buy award. If you’re worried about the recipient not being in you can opt for some letterbox flowers which are in a box the perfect size for most letterboxes so you know they’ll arrive without worry.

Marianne Dress – £51.99

I am a huge fan of getting people clothing at Christmas, especially when it’s from websites they don’t know about/ don’t shop at very often. For this reason, online-only stores like EMP make an awesome choice and this Marianne Dress by Rockabella looks beautiful. The dress is black with red piping along the seams which really stands out and transforms it from a plain black dress to something truly stunning. The rose embroidery is totally on-trend and something which would look nice for general everyday wear or dressed up with heels for a night out.

The straps are a really good size and have a criss-cross gathering at the back. The dress itself is really well made and the material feels thick enough that it will wash well and keep its shape without being too heavy or warm on.

One of the great things about EMP is their fantastic deals as there always seems to be bargains to snap up so keep your eyes peeled.

Personalised Rolling Pin – £12.99

I don’t know about you but I love getting new kitchen items and this personalised rolling pin* is perfect for the baking queen in your life. A rolling pin is one of those things every kitchen needs but I went years without one and used to just use a wine bottle but it’s never quite the same.

Made entirely from wood the rolling pin is a decent weight and has ‘Queen of the Kitchen’ engraved on to it alongside your chosen name. There will be no more disputes about whose baking is better as the pin has spoken.

Wax Lyrical Reed Diffusers – £7.99

One of the best ways to cast scent around a room is by using a reed diffuser and Wax Lyrical have three special festive scents out this year in their GiftScents collection. They have been inspired by a gift card concept and you can fill in the ‘To’ and ‘From’ sections and add a message to the specially designed gift box. All of the Wax Lyrical products are Made in England and it’s always great to support locally made items.

The three variations you can choose from are; Merry Christmas*, Celebrate* and Hollyberry* each with a distinct smell and the 50ml reed diffusers fit through all standard letterboxes so they’re a perfect gift if you’re looking to post something to someone special. I know how happy I’d be to receive any of these through the post.

The first one I opened up was the Stocking Filler Hollyberry scent and it’s such a beautiful smell. Even just a few minutes after putting it out the smell has filled my whole room.

As well as diffusers Wax Lyrical also have this beautiful Night Before Christmas* Candle trio tin gift set. The three scents included are so festive including Frosted Pine, Gold Frankincense and Myrrh and Vanilla & Cranberry so there’s something for everyone. Vanilla and Cranberry is my favourite as it’s both sweet and strong and the perfect festive smell.

Park Luxury Gingerbread Candle – £30

I am a huge fan of gingerbread candles and I’d say about 50% of the ones I own are scented this way so I know a good candle when I smell one, and this is Winter Wonders Gingerbread Candle* from Parks is up there. I could smell the gingerbread scent before I’d even fully pulled the candle out of the packaging so I knew the payout when lit was going to be amazing.

As I have quite a large living room I sometimes have to light multiple candles just to get a good scent but this one worked perfectly well on its own. Scent wise you can smell the ginger and cinnamon and there’s a little bit of vanilla at points to mix the sweet and spice together.

It’s a reasonably weighty candle and the jar is stunning so I’ll definitely be keeping hold of that afterwards but until then it has approximately 50 hours of burn time so I’ve got a lot of scents to hold on to.

Ted Baker Phone Case – From £30

With people with so connected with their mobiles phone cases are a big thing and very few people leave their lifeline unprotected. But gone are the days of boring black cases now you can get absolutely anything. Want one of a giant prosecco bottle it’s out there, or want one covered in so much glitter you’ll look like a party ball each time you’ve had a call, there’s one out there.

The Ted Baker cases, on the other hand, are a bit more sophisticated with their pretty patterns and on-trend branding. The impressionist bloom case* is stunning with dark watercolour flowers adorning it and because it’s from the slim and trim range it means it won’t feel bulky in your hand.

The protect and reflect collection is the perfect everyday practical case, my case is a beautiful dark purple colour with rose gold writing* which couldn’t feel more luxury if it tried. Inside there’s a handy mirror which is perfect for on the go touch-ups and to check your make up if you’re on a night out.

Personalized Petlandia Grumpy Cat Book – £19.99

I am all one for a novelty gift especially when it involves pets so when I saw this Petlandia book* I jumped at the chance to immortalize one of my boyfriend’s cats in the book.

When you land on the website you get to custom create your pet by choosing different visual characteristics such as fur style and colour, eye colour, collar colour and sex which means you can get a pretty good match. The book mixes your own animal into a story with the famous Grumpy Cat where the pair of them go on a grumpy road trip adventure. The book itself was so quick and easy to create and it’s such a cute gift as the wording and story is fully personalized with your animal’s name.

I can’t wait to give this gift to my boyfriend’s parents at Christmas.

Brockmans Gin – £34

Gin is definitely the in drink of the moment and it’s mine, my boyfriend and my dad’s spirit of choice so you could say that we’re massive gin lovers. So much so that I’ve been to three gin distilleries in the past year. Brockman’s Gin* is one of the fastest-growing gins and is a great premium gin boasting botanicals from all around the world.

But what makes this gin that bit more unique is that the taste has hints of blueberries and blackberries alongside a slightly gingery orange flavour. It’s so unusual to drink alone with tonic (or lemonade if you’re me), but it’s also great for a cocktail too. 

The gin is made in England and can be bought in a lot of Marks and Spencer stores alongside Harvey Nicholas, Oddbins and other high street retailers.

Personalised Gin And Tonic Chopping Board – £14.50

The sale of gin has gone up so much over the past year and if you’re an avid gin and tonic drinker there’s no shortage of gifts which you can buy. To make the perfect drink then you need a wooden G & T board* to cut up your lemon and limes ready for your drink.

This solid board is made from beech wood and is finished with food-safe mineral oil so it’s a good thickness and feels solid. You can personalise the board with the initials of your choice to make it an extra special gift.

Echo Falls Summer Berries Vodka and Croft Twist- £16 & £7.49

From one alcoholic beverage to another and this time it’s a Vodka which comes from Echo Falls. Yes, I do mean the people who make wine. The brand celebrates everything about being spontaneous and in the moment with loved ones and it’s something I can massively relate to. Yes, I am hugely into making plans but also spontaneity can bring about some of the best memories.

They’ve turned the nations favourite fruit fusion into a vodka* for the very first time and I can confirm it tastes amazing. The berry flavour is strong enough to be tasted but not so much that it overpowers everything and it’s such a good cocktail mixer. Try adding some of it to Prosecco for a fizzy fruit drink or with lemon and crushed berries for a long-drink over the festive period.

The other awesome item is the Croft Twist* which is much lighter in alcoholic content at just 5.5% but is a sparkling drink. It is Elderflower, Lemon & Mint flavoured so is very fresh and the perfect accompaniment to your meal as it’s not too heavy.

White and Rose Gold Diamond Ring – £225

Who wouldn’t love a diamond ring for Christmas? I know if I had one sitting under my Christmas tree I’d be jumping for joy. Having worked in jewellers for a lot of year’s I know what to look for in a good diamond – much to my boyfriend’ say – and F.Hinds have such a fantastic collection I couldn’t help but feature one in this guide.

This ring is made from 9ct white and rose gold which is my favourite combination of metals as yellow gold just doesn’t suit my skin tone. The three-band crossover ring has diamonds set across the middle white gold band and they’re sunken in deep so I wouldn’t worry about catching it on clothing or anything else while wearing it.

14K White Gold Diamond Necklace – £234

Since we are on the topic of diamonds, there are also other options available for people who love bling. Besides a ring, you may also want to consider a diamond necklace which is extremely versatile when it comes to matching outfits.

Little Book of Earrings – £23.72

I find earrings one of the hardest items of jewellery to store properly, especially it’s small studs and keeping them together so when I discovered the Little Book of Earrings* I was impressed at the simple yet effective design. The books are designed to keep your jewellery safe, tangle-free and all together and they are available for rings, necklaces and earrings so it’s the perfect storage solution for your special items.

Radley Crossover Rose GoldWatch – £130

There’s nothing more personal to give at Christmas than a watch and over the years I have given pretty much every family member a watch. Radley is a brand my family love as I’ve previously bought both my mum and Nan watches from the brand.

You can tell a watch is from Radley* as there will be a little Scotty dog on it somewhere and on this stunning cross-over rose gold watch it’s hanging from the casing. The thing I love most about this watch is how it has the solid bangle style at the front to give the illusion of more of a bracelet but the watch style links at the back so you can get it the exact right size.

Rose gold is so in fashion and it doesn’t look like that fact is going to go away anytime soon. I find that the colouring is so flattering on all skin tones and doesn’t wash me out like yellow gold can.

Cinema Inspired Novellas – £5.99

I am a huge bookworm but sometimes I find it tough to get through a full novel so when this Novella Nostalgia Series* from Tony Drury came through to me I knew they’d be the perfect length to curl up with over the festive period.

The books are inspired by iconic cinema classics with the latest release ‘Forever on Thursdays’ based on Brief Encounter. I also have ‘Lunch with Harry’ which is based on Breakfast at Tiffany’s which I am very excited to read, and ‘Twelve Troubled Jurours’ based on Twelve Angry Men.

If you’re looking for a stocking filler for either a bookworm or someone who’s a huge fan of any of those movies these would be perfect.

Superdrug Pamper Gifts – From £1.99

I’ve seen loads of feet masks around and these nourish sock pack’s* from Superdrug are the perfect pampering item to keep your feet moisturised and hydrated.
