I can’t believe it’s now November and I’m on gift guide number three which is gifts for her and the home. Christmas really feels like it’s rolling round quick this year. Even more so that we have a little one in our lives.
I am already starting to think about putting up our decorations as I really want to have the time to enjoy them with Scarlett. And I need to finish off my Christmas shopping asap.
If you’re still doing your shopping, here are gift ideas for her and the home.
Now I’m carrying around a huge bag for Scarlett everywhere I go I’ve started appreciating smaller bags for myself. And the Columbian cross body bag* (£32.99) from Goodeehoo is the perfect size.
The bag is a slim-line cross body with a detachable and adjustable strap. There’s as slip pocket at the front which has been tested with big phones, so even if you’ve got an iphone pro max you’ll be fine. Then inside there’s a purse with six card slots and a main compartment with zip. The bag is the perfect size for when you just need cards, your phone, keys and a lipstick.
The leather is really soft and it comes in a variety of different colours if rose gold isn’t your thing. And you can even get it personalised with initials.
Crystal art is something I’ve wanted to get into for ages as it looks so therapeutic. If you know a crafty girl how about a crystal art kit that creates something you can hang in the home?
I have the butterfly wind chime crystal art set* (£24.99) which comes with absolutely everything you need to get crafty. There’s a cut-out MDF shape which has an easy to follow template so great for someone who hasn’t tried crystal art before. You just match the crystals and press them into place.
It’s such a beautiful design with so many different colours. And it comes with all the tools and chain for easy hanging. I have this earmarked for a super crafty friend and I can’t wait to see it when she’s finished making it.
I’m instantly happier in my home space when it smells nice. And diffusers are a great way of doing that without having to worry about burning candles.
The elegant harmony home reed diffuser* (£43) is floral, musty and sweet scent. It’s poised as Kyoto at first light with notes of white tea, golden osmanthus, damask rose and iris. The scent is so hard to describe but it’s floral but without being too floral, and the jasmine really stands out to me. It’s such a fresh scent.
It comes with a beautiful glass bottle which can be used again and again.
Both me and my brother had our first babies within a few months of each other, so my parents have a double whammy of grandparent duties. And anyone with kids will know how great personalised gifts can be for any family member.
VistaPrint do a whole host of different personalised gifts such as the mugs we have above. You can chose the colour used in the handles and inside so easy to make them unique to each person. And you can chose different photos on the front and back. So quite a few people in our family will have mugs for Christmas.
But there are so many more options. We picked a puzzle for my auntie as she loves a good puzzle, and a mouse mat for my mum as she works from home and uses one. I also designed some keyrings which I’ll be sharing in next week’s stocking fillers guide. If you can put a photo on it, Vistaprint can make it.
Bouquets always look like a grand present, but flowers aren’t always to everyone’s taste. But what’s even better?! An edible bouquet! Although it might not last longer than flowers!
This sweet and chocolate bouquet* (£32.95) features so many yummy treats from popping candle and refreshers to chocolate buttons and kinder bueno. Sweet bouquet emporium have so many different options depending on the taste of who you’re buying for. Whether you’re buying for someone obsessed with Reeses, Maltesers or Galaxy there’s a bouquet for them. Or maybe they’re less a chocolate fan and would prefer skittles, retro sweeties or refreshers.
My dads a big gin fan and I’m always on the look out for new brands or varieties for him to try. Mr White’s is the newest one to add to the list.
Marco Pierre White is often called the godfather of modern cooking. He’s a world-renowned chef with restaurants (and hotels) across the world, and he’s a TV personality staring in shows like Hell’s Kitchen and MasterChef Australia. He launched the careers of chefs like Gordon Ramsey and Heston Bluementhal. So you know anything his name is attached to is going to be good.
He says “Nowadays, I like nothing more than cooking for my family and inspiring people around me to be creative. This is the basis for Mr. White’s Gin. The recipe is focused on my mantra of keeping things simple but doing them well..”
The drink is a refreshing dry gin using the finest botanicals and expertly crafted. It’s crisp and fresh, just like a gin should be.
I love a kitchen gadget, especially one which can save me time (and effort). And grating cheese is something which I hate doing, but grating your own is so much better than buying pre-grated. And that’s where the Microplane container grater* (£39.95) comes in.
You can grate, collect, serve and store things all in one gadget. It comes with a coarse, ultra-sharp stainless-steel blade, a 532ml storage container to catch whatever you’re grating, an airtight plastic lid to keep everything fresh, and a wooden lid which can be used as a mini cheese board/ a protective cover etc.
I always make such a mess grating cheese but this catches everything beautifully. But it also grates so much more; chocolate, citrus fruits, garlic, ginger, nuts etc. When I make my Christmas lemon drizzle cake this is going to come in so handy.
Microplane are globally recognised for their graters and blades, and are used and loved by professional chefs, TV presenters and home cooks around the world. So you know you’re going to get something high quality.
Such fab gifts! I really like the decorative hanging decoration. So fun and colourful! I think the kitchen gadgets are a great idea too. I’d need something like that container grater.
