Live Music, Swimming Lessons And Book Events- November 2025 Overview

November disappeared in the blink of an eye. I genuinely feel like it was Halloween one minute, and now we’re almost a week into December. November 2025 was a quick month, but I really managed to cram some stuff in.

While I want to do plenty of festive things I know I need to try and take it easy. The last thing I want to do is burnout because that’s not good for me or Scarlett.

Here’s an overview of my month.

What I got up to in November 2025

Most of the things I got up to were book related, baby related, or live music.

Over the month I had three gigs which is my most since before Scarlett was born. Early November I headed to Kentish Town Forum to see The Plot In You which was really fun, although I’ve never seen the venue so busy.

Then the next two were absolute bangers. I went to see Five with one of my besties and it was one of the most fun evenings of my life. The band sound great live and we got a chance to relive our younger days and belt out some classics. Then at the end of the month it was Bad Omens, one of my favourite current bands. And the lead singers voice was just incredible live.

All things baby

We continued our baby glow classes over the month but added in swimming lessons. I say the word lessons loosely, it’s mainly splashing about, getting the babies used to water and singing nursery rhymes but we’ve had fun. Scarlett seems to like the water (or at least she hasn’t cried). But the whole process of changing rooms, getting us both ready, and getting in-and-out is a bit of a ball ache. I’ve decided we’re just doing lessons until the end of the year then we’re going to go as and when and splash around ourselves.

Scarlett had sleepovers with both sets of grandparents this month. One at the start of November with my parents, and one at the end with Luke’s. It was so strange leaving her overnight but it was so nice to just switch of from being ‘mum’ for a little bit. And I know she had so much fun both weekends. We managed to do some shopping, eat some nice food and do some activities like a lego museum (brickz in Milton Keynes) and an arcade.

What I’ve been watching and reading

I’ve not had the brain capacity for much watching so I’ve mainly binged reality real estate shows. I watched the latest season of Selling Sunsets and Selling the O.C, then I watched season one of Selling the City. They’re all pretty trashy but I enjoy the drama (and the properties), plus I don’t have to pay that much attention.

I managed to head and see Wicked at the cinema which was really good.

Usually I read around 9-11 books a month, but in November I only hit 5. And that’s because Empire of the Dawn took me two weeks, but my goodness what a book it was. Easily in top five of the whole year!

A book filled week at the end of November

Across the space of four days I had three books events. On a Thursday I headed over to Cambridge to see two authors I love, Adalyn Grace and Kaylie Smith. The chat was so much fun and I had a really great time. Then the next day I saw Jay Kristoff in conversation with John Gwyne which was the best.

Then two days later it was my annual pilgrimage to Kensington Olympia for YALC. I do think a lot of the publishers toned down the freebies and competitions, so I came back with a lot less stuff. But I still had a really fun day, got loads of books signed and picked up plenty of bookish merch.

What did you get up to in November 2025?
