OOTD – Spring/ Summer Evening Wear
I am pretty bad when it comes to appropriate evening wear as I have the all-out sequins and glitter dresses for nights out, or nice tops to pair with jeans for a meal, but nothing in between. A black dress is a classic and stylish way to dress which is what drew me to this as soon as I saw it. I’m trying to experiment more with a little colour so in hindsight, I should have picked this up in red or the toffee colour as it’s a really pretty nude, but I’m just too much of a creature of habit.
I’ve been a Boohoo fan for quite a while as I love that they do a Curve range and the prices of their clothes is pretty affordable which is great when you’re shopping for evening wear as I find I’ll buy a dress and only wear it a few times as opposed to a top or pair of jeans which I might wear to death.
This dress is really pretty with a wrap-around dress which I find really flattering on the chest area as it doesn’t push them in too much but it’s still really supportive. I am really into the whole open shoulder look at the moment although this dress doesn’t do it too over the top so it’s just a small opening.
One thing I would say about this dress is that I’m only 5 foot 5 and the bottom comes up pretty short on me so it might not be the best if you’re taller than me as your underwear might end up on show. I’d say in the Springtime this would be perfect with nude tights just to keep your legs warm but during the summer it’s just about long enough on me to go without.
I paired the dress with some flat black studded espadrilles as I’m definitely not a heels kind of girl and I absolutely loved the studded detailing around the ankle strap. The shoes are really comfortable and I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of them in the Spring/ Summer.
