June Favourites And What I’ve Been Loving

Iron on Patches

It seems summer has well and truly kicked in and while I might not always dress weather appropriate I am loving having all the sunshine around, even if it’s just because it’s way more acceptable to eat ice-cream. As I am slowly starting to think more about saving for my future house I am trying to not buy as many things so a lot of the stuff I am using is either shopped from my stash or have been kindly sent to me.

Nouba Mascara

Beauty

Beauty Base has recently started stocking a new brand online called Nobula and I was lucky enough to have been sent a selection of items to try out. Nobula are a premium Italian brand with a full collection of products which are without parabens, gluten and paraffin which is always nice to see and they’re inclusive of all skin types with a really large foundation shade range which is something I’m keen to try.

One of the items from the collection which I am loving is the Volumaxi Mascara*. The wand is so unusual with a wider brush at the base and thinner brush nearer the tip which means you can use the whole wand to rub on your lashes or the smaller edge to get into the corners or use for the lower lash line. It’s a proper black colour and you don’t need too many layers to get a really thick effect on the lashes but if you’re not a fan of the almost clumpy look this might not be for you. It has really good longevity and doesn’t flake out at all during the day which considering I wear makeup for around 12 hours.

Nouba Lipstick

One other item I loved from the range is the Millebaci lip creams which come in 25 shades. I have a pinky nude shade and it is my absolute favourite day to day shade, something I wear on a regular basis. The lip creams are really soft and creamy so they don’t drag on the lips when you apply them and they feel really hydrating. I’ve limited my wear of liquid lipsticks as I felt my lips were getting a bit too dried out so this is a great alternative.

The colour is really pigmented but due to being a nude shade it isn’t too bright anyway but I’d expect the darker and more vibrant colours to have great pigmentation. Of course, the longevity isn’t going to be as good as a liquid lipstick but I didn’t have to reapply it too many times.

Clarins Lotion

Skincare

Last month there was a Clarin’s gift with purchase so I decided to grab a few times from the brand’s Energizer range which is specifically designed for those in their 20’s to promote youthful-looking skin. The Daily Energizer Wake-up Booster (£18) is the product I’ve been loving the most as it’s like a shot of energy for my skin in the morning which stimulates everything in the skin making my skin looking more awake and alive.

This is designed to be used every other day or a few times a week to promote beautiful skin and I find the feeling on my skin very similar to when I use the Pixi Glow Tonic whereby my skin looks less dull and more awake.

Colab Dry Shampoo

Haircare

Last month Leanne Walker did a campaign with Colab and I was convinced to buy one of the dry shampoos from Boots, it helped that they were half price at the time. The main thing which drew me in was that it doesn’t leave a white residue which is the thing which put me off dry shampoos the most. I picked up the Tropical Dry Shampoo (£3.49) as I loved the summery scent and it’s been great to use since.

It isn’t the heaviest duty but on the in between days when I don’t wash my hair, it gives it that little pick me up that it needs without leaving any mark. Every other dry shampoo I’ve used you can tell I’ve used a dry shampoo but this is the first one which is subtle enough to not leave a mark.

Kate Spade Bag

Fashion

The majority of the time I use a pretty large handbag and carry around a lot of unnecessary items but I knew I wanted some smaller summer bags and I’ve always loved the Kate Spade polka dot bags but they don’t seem to make them anymore so when I spotted this one brand new on eBay I put in a bid. Thankfully I won and I got such a good deal on this patent crossbody which I have been using so much during the evenings and weekends.

The only issue is I have a lot of polka dot clothing so have had to wear a different bag on those occasions to not overload the dots. I love Kate Spade bags as they’re great quality and I know it’s going to last a long time.

Slabb Banofee Bar

Food

I’ve spoken about the yummy Slabb Bar which I got in last month’s favourites but this time I’ve got it from their monthly subscription pack. There are subscriptions for just about everything now and this Slabb chocolate box* is one of the best I’ve seen. You can get it as a single or ‘couples’ box, although whether you share it is a different story and each month for your subscription you’ll get a bar or two through the post to enjoy. There are vegan options available at no extra cost and you can set preferences to say certain things you like and dislike such as no nuts or no alcoholic chocolate and there are even limited edition bars sent out each month which are voted for by members of the Community Facebook Group.

My monthly bar was Banoffee which was filled with gooey caramel pieces and crunchy banana pieces which were a fantastic contrast. I can’t wait to see what comes next month.

Protein Bites

My diet is very up and down and I am struggling quite a lot to make the best decisions about what to eat but I have been loving these Chocolate Mint Protein Cubes* from Nutreelife as they’re naturally really low in sugar but high in protein and fibre so they’re great at filling you up without eating something with loads of sugar and carbs in them. They’re all-natural and totally vegan approved so everyone can eat them plus the choice of flavours are amazing. I chose the chocolate mint variety and one thing I loved is the fact that they’re individually wrapped so I can just take one or two as and when I want them. I’ve found these great to eat after I’ve been to the gym when I need a bit of a kick.

Banana Slices in Chocolate? SOmething, Something I heard of, but never seen. But I like all the line-ups which you have mentioned here. Maybe it can help people to create a theme if they do mix up of these products every other day. Ladies would love this, trust me.
