The Best Things About New Online Dating App Meetchu
Over the years I’ve used dating apps quite a bit from Tinder and Plenty of Fish to Ok Cupid and Bumble, each with their pro’s and cons but the main thing was just about meeting people. I’m not the most confident person in social situations and I find it hard to talk to new people so the idea of online dating for me is great as it allows you to start getting to know someone and work out if you have anything in common before meeting up.
Before I met Luke I’d done a few different speed dating sessions and when you have nothing in common I know how long four minutes can feel never mind a full date but thankfully I no longer need to go to them. Me and Luke have been together for about 20 month’s now and we met online through a dating app, much like a number of my friends and other people that I know.
Now there’s a brand new app out called Meetchu and here are some of the best things about it and the online dating world in general:
Video profiles
In this modern world, video is a key part of life from Instagram Stories right through to video interviews for job roles and Meetchu have introduced video profiles. Having a video profile means you can instantly see someone for their true selves as there are no group photos where you can’t work out which one they are, no photos from a decade ago and no silly Snapchat filters. Having used lots of dating app’s before I know how good this feature would have been during that time as a few times I’d gone on dates and the guy didn’t look quite as I had thought he did.
You can ‘meet before you meet’
Meetchu has integrated voice and video call options so you can meet each other before officially going on a date which I think is such a good idea as sometimes you know from the first look at someone whether you have a connection. A lot of the time I’d really need some time to chat with someone to establish whether in this busy age whether I wanted to spend my time going on a date with them as time is precious. Having the option to chat beforehand via video means you’re not spending loads of time but you can work out if they’re worth the date.
It’s safer
Online security is a huge issue and one of the questions I always thought is how quickly should I pass on my phone number to someone as people always ask whether you want to move the conversation over to WhatsApp. Allowing you to contact each other through a variety of mediums within the app itself means you don’t have to worry about sending out too much personal information straight away.
You can delete a message you’ve sent
Most of us have balls up a message at some point, spelt something wrong or just asked totally the wrong thing and regretted it the moment after clicking send but with Meetchu you don’t need to worry. You can simply delete the message from both of your phones meaning the other person will never know you messed up.

Wow this does sound like they’ve made some great features to help keep people safe. It would be a nice change for those who are online dating for sure.

I have only ever heard of Tinder so I have to mention this to my friends looking for partners. I love that there are so many in-built communication methods to make it safer than other dating apps.

There’s something new to learn everyday. I heard of tinder and some others but this one is one more new. Actually I don’t like dating apps. My cousin bro was badly cheated by someone whom he met through a dating app. This one was fun reading.
Thanks for notifying about this application. My friend has had a few bad experiences because often the person in the picture is completely different from the person with whom we sat to talk. I’m sure video chat is a great solution.

I’ve never used a dating app as I’ve been with my Husband since we were in school, but it’s good to hear that this seems quite safe to use. The video profile feature sounds like a good addition to dating apps!
I have never heard of Meetchu before. Definitely pretty curious about all of it though. I think it would be useful to be able to delete stuff on your end if you decided you didn’t like it worded like that or changed your mind in some form or fashion. And I also like that’s its video based. You get to see more of them naturally this way.
I am so thankful I am not dating in this day and age, the thought of meeting people through apps doesn’t appeal to me but I guess it’s what you get used to

Gosh dating apps are getting so sophisticated! It’s fab they keep developing and I love that you can delete a message you have sent, which can save on anything awkward happening. I met my husband online but through a computer game, so whatever works in people’s quest for love can only be a good thing x
