It fills me with both excitement and shock that my first Christmas gift guide of 2018 is now live. I am the biggest Christmas fan and am already feeling pretty festive at the moment as I’m deep into Christmas shopping and lists. I’ve been doing these Gift Guides for the last few years and will be running them every Tuesday from now until Christmas with a different theme each week. This week it’s a Christmas Gift Guide for him.
The first gift I have is this Game of Thrones Tankard* (£54.99) which has such an ornate pattern all over it and it’s actually got quite a weight to it so it feels chunky. The handle is shaped like a sword and it’s really comfortable to hold, but one of the best things about it is that the stainless steel cup inside can be removed and put in the dishwasher so it’s incredibly easy to clean. This would be a great gift for any Game of Thrones fan to toast to Westeros.
Personalized gifts are always a great bet at Christmas and MyCustomTshirts do t-shirt printing where you can pretty much put anything you want on a top. Fancy giving your best friend a top with your face on or want to pop a picture of your cat on a top? You can do just that.
I decided to just go for a pretty plain design on a black t-shirt* (£34.99) as I thought it was something I’d get a lot of wear out of but for the personal touch it’s so nice as you can do a t-shirt design that you know the person you’e buying for will love. The top I opted for is really soft and comfortable, and there are a whole host of sizes so you can get the perfect fit.
Underwear is pretty much a staple Christmas present in our household and this year I’m pretty a high-end spin on something which is deemed as quite boring by going for this Ted Baker 3 Pack Boxer Set* (£36). The set has a Navy, Turquoise and Purple pair with assorted designs on them and they have an elasticated waistband with a small Ted Baker logo woven along the edge. In our household, Ted Baker is our chosen brand so these are going to go down as a great treat. If you’re looking for other gifts checkout Mainline Menswear.
Sticking to the clothing theme this heritage grey jumper (£55) is a beautiful cable knit design which is super soft due to the cashmere within it. You can’t beat a good jumper especially if winter lasts as long as it did after last Christmas. The jumper comes in an array of different colours as well so if grey isn’t your colour there are plenty more options.
I think it must be predominantly a male thing about being untidy as Luke is like it, my dad is like it and so is my brother and somewhere that can get really messy is the bedside table. In a bit to combat that I’ve got this Tower Storage Station* (£25) which is a beautiful combination of black metal and wood which is a great spot to put everything from your pockets in at the end of the day. You can put your glasses in one of the slots on the left or your keys in the section at the bottom and it’s a nice way of keeping everything together. If you’re looking for more gifts check out aplaceforeverything.
My dad is still a fan of the classic razor as opposed to an electric one so the Dorco PACE 6 Plus Shave Gel Kit* (£15.78) seemed like a good choice to replace his current one. Dorco’s classic razor has six precision-aligned blades for a close, comfortable shave and this kit comes with the handle and 5 refill cartridges so the set will last for quite a while. The set also comes with some Shave Gel because it wouldn’t be a complete kit without it.
Razors are great for those who like the clean shaven look but this Philips Vacuum Beard Trimmer* (£80) is best for those with a bit more hair on the face. The one thing which annoys me most when Luke trims his beard is finding small cut hairs all over the bathroom on the tops of the cabinet, on the floor and pretty much everywhere so this trimmer is going to solve all that as it has a vacuum leaving mess-free trim and ultimately a clean bathroom *hooray*.
The trimmer has a lift and trim system which raises the hairs into the perfect position so that the double-sharpened blades cut the hairs for a quick and even finish. You can even select the length you want for the hairs by zooming the wheel on the handle choosing between 0.5-10mm. If a man in your life makes a lot of mess when he’s trimming his beard then this is the item you need.
I’m a massive fan of novelty bottles so these miniature Vodka & Herbal liqueurs* (£17.50) from Fallen Angel Drinks screamed out to me as the devil shaped bottles are really cool. You get a signature British grain Vodka and a herbal liqueur as part of the set with the later being stored in an opaque black bottle.
Once you’ve drunk the liqueurs they’re the kind of bottles you’d want to keep and display in your drinks cabinet or put some water and food colouring in the clear one to match the colour to your interiors.
You can’t beat a good wallet for Christmas especially when it’s one as nice as this Leather Bifold Wallet* (£24.90) from Zippo. A lot of people only think of lighters when they consider Zippo but they do so much more and have such a great leather selection of items from Wallets to wash bags.
This wallet comes gift boxed and the leather is so beautifully soft which is something you don’t get with a lot of wallets, especially ones around this price point. The wallet has space to store up to 5 cards, banknotes and has a transparent plastic pocket for easy to reach items. I love the mocha brown colour and the red-stitched edging is such a nice touch.
Anyone who knows me will know how much I love a good personalized gift and this Wise(ish) Words for Golfers* (from £19.95) book is a great option to add something a little bit special. We opted for this one as Luke’s dad is an avid golfer so it seemed pretty appropriate but you can get books for Your Mum, Your Dad, New Parents, Dog Lovers and so many more.
You can personalize the book with the recipients name and this is used inside to make the wise quotes directed to the person which is such a nice touch. We opted for the soft-back book which is really good quality and doesn’t feel at all flimsy and considering it’s personalized it arrived in just a few days which I was seriously impressed by.
I have a really good Wireless charger at home but this Vooni Wireless Powerbank* (£33.99) is just what you need when you’re out and about. I’m always forgetting my cables so this power bank is a game changer for me especially as both me and Luke have phones that support wireless charging.
If you have additional products to charge you can still plug them in via the USB cable so if your mate needs to use it or you want to charge your tablet you’re sorted. You can charge something wirelessly and via the cable at the same time for double charging.
When it comes to clothing what is the kind of thing that someone wouldn’t buy for themselves?! How about a crazy suit?! Think bright colours and bold patterns, the sort of the thing you wouldn’t usually see in the shops. Luke picked out The Joker Suit* (£74.95) which is the perfect fancy dress/ party time suit.
The suit itself came with the purple branded suit jacket and trousers and a lime green matching tie, but they also sell the shirts which can go with it. The suit itself is slim fit so the jacket fitted really nicely and the detail was great from the green for the buttons to the pattern over the pocketing. The trousers didn’t feel like they were slim fit but with the right pair of shoes, you didn’t notice.
If you’re looking for a quirky present or you just don’t know what to get someone then check out OppoSuits, they do ladies suits as well. And if you want something a little more festive OppoSuits do a whole range of Christmas Suits which would add some excitement to Christmas morning.

This is really good and informative. You have created the article very well. Many will be benefited from it.
Thank you so much for this gift guide. My brother and my eldest son are so hard to gift and these suggestions are awesome. My son could make good use of that tower storage station, and my brother would love that leather bifold wallet!
This gift guide is amazing, that game of Thrones tankard looks so good but is a little pricey. I also like the Zippo wallet, my other half has a few Zippo lighters so would go perfectly with them.
So many great idea. I actually love shopping for my husband, men are fun to buy for!
These are really fantastic ideas! My husband and my brother are near impossible to buy for, so I need all the help I can get! I love the look of the GOT mug and the t-shirts!
Oh you have some great ideas here. I have a man to buy Christmas presents for this year – yay! Thanks for the inspiration. Kaz
You have given me lots of ideas for both my husband and my son this year. I think the tankard would make a really special gift and the powerbank would work so well for my son
I think my VIP would love to have the Leather Bifold Wallet. This is right on timing as I’ve been thinking of a good gift lately.
Awesome stuff, you clearly know what you’re talking about here! Thanks so much for sharing!
Love these ideas! I have no idea why, but men are always so hard to buy for, but I love your suggestions – especially the wireless power bank x
You’ve given me some great ideas for Steve – I think he’d love the Game of Thrones tankard and I know he’s wanting a new beard trimmer!
These are some brilliant ideas for a gift guide. It’s so difficult to think of gifts for men at times but I love the idea of a storage system and a beard trimmer. My husband has been showing interest in that so I might get tht for him on his upcoming birthday.
These are some great ideas – and will definitely mean that I’m not hustling around for a Christmas present for my husband at the last second like I normally do!
I can’t believe Christmas is only a couple of months away. I always struggle on what to buy for my husband. These are fab ideas especially the wireless powerbank charger. We ‘re thinking of going camping more next year so the charger will be ideal for him!
