This year Mother’s Day is pretty late (31st March) but for me this is great news as my mum’s birthday is two weeks into March and year and year they end up being days apart which isn’t good for planning activities or buying presents. A few years it’s been either on the same day or the same weekend which has been even more of a pain. This year my mum’s birthday sits a few days before our big holiday and then Mother’s Day falls a few days later which is a massive blessing for us as I missed both last years in our long weekend to New York.
I love spoiling my mum and showing her how much I care and although you can easily do this without physical things I love getting a good present or two. There’s a pretty strong theme running throughout this gift guide in that every single item involves food and drink in it at some point. But for my family of foodies (who love a good drink), this is a great theme to have. Without further ado here are eight treats to show your mum how much she means to you which is a gift guide bursting with ideas.
Moonpig do a great selection of Mother’s Day gifts and their foodie hampers are a great gift. There’s one for tea lovers, one for gin lovers, one for pampering and a luxury hamper. If you don’t fancy a full-blown hamper grab a personalised card that your mum is sure to love. I was kind enough to be sent a hamper filled with goodies which I know my mum will love for Mother’s Day.
I am a huge fan of buying experiences for Mother’s Day, especially one’s that I can enjoy with my mum and Buyagift are one of the best places to look as it doesn’t matter if your mum is an adrenaline junkie, foodie, or just likes a pamper like mine. I’ve bought quite a few experiences from Buyagift over the years, especially afternoon tea ones, and they’ve always been really easy to book.
I have the Premium Spa Day with Lunch or Afternoon Tea and Treatments for two* and it gives you the option to then choose your exact location from a variety across the country and book in at your convenience. We booked a spa weekend with for my parents for their wedding anniversary and I know my mum is a huge fan of relaxing by the pool and having a massage so this present will be truly special. You can choose to have the voucher emailed to you but I got mine posted and even the pouch and the card looks luxurious. Keep your eyes peeled as I’ll be doing a follow-up post once we’ve been on the experience.
If your mum is like mine and enjoys being in the kitchen and baking then a ProCook Non-Stick Baking Kit* isn’t just a practical present she can use but it’s something that will provide a welcome upgrade from what’s she’s currently using. Good Kitchenware is absolutely essential and this set from ProCook is heavy-duty (without being too heavy to pull out of the oven) and feels really good quality as they’re made from 1mm heavy gauge carbon steel.
The set comes with a Springform Cake Tin, a 12 cupcake tray, a small roasting tin, Small and large baking trays, and a Loaf Tin so you’re covered for all types of cooking and baking. All of the items have a double layer of superior ProCook non-stick coating which means you know they’re going to last and be good quality to use.
To go with the baking items how about something pretty to use once you’ve made your items? This cake slice* and pastry fork set* is absolutely stunning with gold detailing and stunning bird designs on the handles. The pastry forks have porcelain handles and are beautifully delicate to use for a great DIY afternoon tea.
The Sara Miller collection is absolutely beautiful, she had the vision to bring her love of print, pattern, and colour into her designs and you can see this from the packaging through to the actual items. I absolutely love the little birds and can’t wait to bake just so I can use these to serve them.
You can’t go wrong with a box of chocolates and the Guylian Master’s Selection* is a great assortment to cover for all tastes from Coffee-Cardamom, Caramel with Costa Rican Pineapple, Ginger-Lime and so much more. When photographing these I did have to take a cheeky sample (or two) but have passed the rest on as an early Mother’s Day present.
When I first think of Guylian you think of the classic seashells so the Masters Selection is a great box to show their diversity and you can’t deny it’s a beautiful box.
If you want something edible but chocolates aren’t your mum’s thing then Thomas Fudge’s do so great edible treats like these Dark Chocolate Flapjacks* which are moist and chewy like you’d want from a Flapjack with buttery oats and golden syrup, but half covered in beautiful dark chocolate. These are a great treat to have with a cup of tea in the afternoon.
There’s also some Salted Caramel Florentine’s* which have fruit and nuts on them so have a soft gooey texture with the salted caramel and soft chocolate but then you hit the toppings and there’s a great crunch. If Salted Caramel isn’t your mum’s thing then you can grab them in Dark and Milk chocolate as well.
For my mum it wouldn’t be a celebration without Prosecco which is why this Can’t Buy Happiness Personalised Prosecco Bottle* is such a great present. The bottle itself says ‘You can’t buy happiness but you can buy Prosecco’ which is such a true saying for my fizz-loving mum and you can personalise it to show who it’s from which is a nice touch. I know my mum is going to want to keep hold of the bottle once she’s drunk its contents. I love how on Gift Pup you can see how the personalisation will look before you proceed, so you can play around with your wording to get it looking just right.
The 75cl bottle comes in a beautiful presentation box with a little box of truffles to add something even more special and it’s such a beautiful gift. Thankfully something I’m not going to need to wrap either *hooray*.
The final item that I have is this beautiful Circle of Gin print* from Nine by Nine who are an independent company based in Brighton. The brand was set up by two creatives Corryn and Adam who were frustrated by the lack of original but affordable art prints and they wanted to showcase some of the talent out there with limited edition art prints. All of the prints on the site come in limited numbers, for example, there’s only 50 of the Gin print I have meaning you won’t see it replicated all over the place which is great.
Prints are released in batches so the artists can be showcased but they all receive a fair commission for the talent and hard work which goes into creating these masterpieces. From a massive gin-loving family this is such an apt print for us and I might have to fight my mum for the print myself as it’s absolutely stunning.

I am going to be buying a card from my dog to my wife as she is his mummy. It’ not a normal card though – I commissioned someone to do an animated version of her and the dog!

I would love the gin selection but my mum has a sweet tooth so loves chocolate treats
What a fantastic selection of gifts, Rhian. I haven’t bought my mum anything yet. But am thinking of getting her a nice bracelet from Joma Jewellery 🙂
