February was a bit of a strange whirl wind month for me as it has been the month of the big move. I have spent a lot of my month drowning in a sea of packing materials and boxes but thankfully the hardest part is now over and done with and it’s just about finding homes for everything at my parents. Send help! As I have been packing and unpacking items it’s been a good chance to re-visit items that may have been sat in my collection for a long while, so I am going to be shopping my stash for ages. Here are some of the items I have been loving in February.
I bought my Olympus Pen back in 2016 so I’ve had it for a while but only tended to use it on occasion, perhaps for the odd holiday or to take a photo at home when the battery for my Canon SLR was dead. But during February I have been getting a lot more use from my Olympus Pen as I’ve been taking it to restaurants with me when I’ve been reviewing, and the photos have come out so much better than when I used my phone. The actual camera itself is a really good and if you’ve seen my Wagamama or YO! Sushi restaurant reviews you’ll have seen how good the images are.
Yes I have included a gin in my February favourites as at the very end of January I headed to a local Gin Festival with Luke and my parents and came across The Artful Pour who are a brand that do a lot of fruity gins. I am not a huge dry gin fan and always tend to veer towards the fruity ones but from the second I tried a sample of the passion fruit gin I was in love. It doesn’t have a sharp taste like you can get with some gin’s and the fruity flavour is so rich without being overpowering, it’s one of those gins that you can have without even realising that it’s alcohol *oops*. My parents picked up a bottle at the event and as I’ve now moved in I may have taken over their stash.
This lip whip is something I picked up in Sephora when I was in New York a while back but I’ve not had much chance to use it, but with all the dust associated with packing my lips have been quite dry and chapped. This lip whip is really moisturising and due to the whipped style it’s really easy to apply so I can put on more at bedtime to sink in overnight, or a lighter sweep during the day. It has a slightly glossy sheen to it but it isn’t sticky thankfully, plus I am a sucker for anything peppermint scented.
I’ve spoken about Phil Smith hair care on here before but this month I’ve been revisiting some of my items and rediscovered the Total Treat Shampoo* which is designed for damaged, frequently styled and coloured hair. As someone who blow dries her hair every other day and tries (but fails) to be a redhead this is a pretty good mix for me.
The actual shampoo is coconut scented but it’s not too overpowering thankfully as I’m not the biggest fan of coconut (I’m not a Pina Colada lover!) As there’s Argon Oil infused within it helps to keep my hair smooth, which I really appreciate as I don’t tend to have the time to condition my hair during the week when I’m getting ready to head to work. As my hair hasn’t been dyed in a while I can’t say whether it’s been great at prolonging my colour, but sadly even the best hair care isn’t great for reds.

Great favourites! The lip whip looks so nice. Do you know if they do it in stick form. I really struggle with dip pots.
I love my Olympus Pen! I use it more than my DSLR now.
I definitely do out and about as my DSLR is just too heavy to take out much now. I tend to just use my larger camera indoors x
I hear so much about the Olympus Pen being great cameras, I may have to look into one next time I need a new one. The shampoo and conditioner sound’s like something I need as well!
That passionfruit gin definitely sounds like something I need to try! My favourites in Feb were a book I read called The Perfect Child and Bacardi Ginger – its yummy!
Oh I’m not a fan of ginger but this sounds like something my mum would love! x
I’m thinking of buying a lip balm. I’ll check if I can get hold of the one you’re using currently.
I’m curious about that Lip whip with peppermint. Love to try that one too. I think my mom would love that hair products with coconut scent.
I quite like the sound of coconut shampoo especially the fact that it is not over perfumed xx
I love minty lip balms and recently discovered one with turmeric. It’s the same effect!
My Olympus Pen was one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. I love minty lip balms too… have you tried lemon balms? They’re fab too. X
Oh no I’ve not tried lemon balms, I’ll have to look into them x
