I don’t spend quite as much time in London as I used to mainly because I’m trying to save money and my body can’t always hack the back and forth into Central (even though the journey is usually only 30-60 minutes long). But when I do I’m always on the lookout for a reasonably priced brunch spot in Covent Garden as it’s one of my favourite areas in London. It might be pretty touristy but just walk off any of the streets off the central square and it’s a really interesting spot.
I constantly keep a list of foodie places I want to visit in London so if I’m ever stuck I know where I want to go and Mabels in Covent Garden had been on there for quite some time. Annoyingly though it’s not open on a Sunday which seems to be the main day I end up heading into London, but thankfully Luke took me into London on my birthday and this was the brunch spot of choice and thankfully it ended up being a cheap brunch spot in London.
We arrived there were quite a few groups of people including what looked like a baby shower in the back. It definitely had the feeling of the kind of place that groups of girls come for their Saturday brunch time catch up’s as Luke was actually the only male customer around (and the place was full).
The menu is great as you can order from the typical brunch menu full of cooked breakfasts, smashed avocado and scrambled eggs, but you can also order from the all-day menu. The dishes themselves are all reasonably priced with my diet coke, halloumi and pepper skewer starter and a southern fried chicken wrap with chips coming in at £15 for the lot! Definitely, a reasonably priced brunch spot in Covent Garden if you ask me, I usually pay that much just for the main meal alone.
What I expect a lot of people were there for is the Bottomless Brunch where you can buy a dish from the brunch menu and add bottomless cocktails for £27.50 which for 90 minutes of drinks is pretty darn good. I don’t remember seeing loads of people necking cocktails around me but I’m sure there were a lot of people taking part in this particular offer, although my experiences of bottomless brunch day drinking aren’t the best!
My starter was really tasty and the halloumi chunks were very generous and I loved it because who doesn’t love a cheese starter?! My southern fried chicken wrap was also really good and although it doesn’t look like a lot of food it was really filling and lasted me right through until dinner time.
The atmosphere was great in the bar area as between 11 am and 3 pm there’s a live musician in branch and he was playing acoustic tracks with his guitar which added a great relaxed vibe to the place, especially when he played Maroon 5 ‘She Will Be Loved’.
If you’re looking for a cheap brunch in Central London then Mabels is your place. If you’re looking for other bottomless brunch options head here.

Oh this is definitely reasonably priced, especially for London. It’s actually quite cheap for here up north too! looks great!
I love finding great brunch places. Do you know if they have any vegan options?
Yes I definitely remember there being some options! x
Oh now, this looks like such a lovely place to go for brunch. The food looks good and it looks like such a cute little cafe as well.
Thanks for the heads up about Mabels, I like the sound of the holloumi and pepper skewer. Mich x
I love eating out in Covent Garden too. I love the look of your chicken wrap and even the plate is beautiful. Anything with halloumi gets my vote too!
Oh wow this sounds like such a lovely place to eat. Your wrap looks delicious and I love the sound of the bottomless brunch, definitely a place to meet with great friends for a fun brunch and cocktails!
yeah I need to go back and try the bottomless brunch x
That bottomless brunch sounds a really great deal and If I were in there, I’ll definitely take advantage of that haha. What an awesome place.
I love London but prices always tend to put me off, I remember going to a Yates Pub in central London and everything was so expensive! I love places like Mabels where you can get great food and it’s not too expensive. Thanks for sharing Rhian 🙂 x
Totally agree, you can spend so much in a day out in London even if you don’t do that much x
I can see why it’s one of your favourite spots! I’d love it too!
