Cashmere stockings

AD- Items in this guide have been provided in exchange for inclusion
but all thoughts and opinions on the stocking fillers are my own

We never had the tradition of stockings when I was younger. But last year I got my very first stocking from Luke’s parents and it was lovely. A little stack of small presents laying by our door first thing in the morning. And it was such a nice way to start the day. In my opinion stocking fillers should be cheap items or novelty things. It’s there to make you smile on a festive day. And that’s where this guide comes in as everything here is under £13.

Check out the rest of my Christmas Gift Guides here. And for more ideas of men’s Christmas stocking ideas click here.

The only thing which bucks the lower monetary value is the stocking themselves. But if you buy good quality ones then they’re going to last years and be a source of happy memories. I have a pair of Merino Cashmere Christmas Stockings* (£40) from Harrow and Green which are stunning.

These stockings are both traditional with the shape and the colours. But super modern down the material and finish. The material is 95% Merino Wool and 5% Cashmere mix which is woven in Ireland in one of the countries oldest family-run textile mills. Due to the material, they are so soft and such great quality. Each one is personalised with a red glitter letter on the front. So naturally me and Luke have our initials. It was actually the first time I realised we are left and right combo. Thankfully I put them the right way around in the photo.

If you want to start a tradition of stockings then these are beautiful quality and something you’ll keep for a lifetime.

Palmolive Clay Shower Gel

Now onto the presents inside the stocking themselves. I always think little pampering goodies and toiletries are great. This Palmolive Pampering Clay Body Wash* (£2.49) is indulgent but practical. It’s a creamy body wash with loads of natural ingredients to give you smoother and softer skin. It’s full of clay to remove impurities alongside rose oil and milk to keep your skin hydrated and nourished.

Silk hair scrunchies

Next up is something for your hair in the form of Only Curls Silk Scrunchies* (£10). You may have seen the trend for silk pillowcases and silk eye masks all designed to be gentle on your hair and skin. And that’s exactly what these silk scrunchies do. I have a set of 3 pink ones but you can get them in black if pinks, not your colour. Or you can get them as a pair of thicker ties.

I tie my hair up every single night and I used to normal hair ties. But in the morning it would be tangled into my hair and it wasn’t the easiest to get out. And sometimes my hair would come out if it was tied around the band. But no more with these silk scrunchies as they’re great on my hair. These reduce tangles and frizz which I certainly notice in the morning. My hairbrush glides much easier through my hair. And in turn, this reduces breakage which is a win-win really. These kinds of hair ties are especially important if you’re wearing human hair extensions or wigs as you need to keep them well cared for.

Harry Potter sweets
Chocolate or foodie items will always play a big part in Christmas. So it’s only natural that it belongs in a stocking too. Jelly Belly do a great selection of stocking fillers, and it’s not all jelly beans. Who knew?!

These items are great for anyone whose a Harry Potter fan as there’s a Gryffindor tin filled with red jelly beans* (£4.50). These are cherry flavoured, but there’s also Green Apple for Slytherin, Blueberry for Ravenclaw and Lemon Drop for Hufflepuff.  There’s a Harry Potter Platform 9 3/4 Milk Chocolate Ticket* (£4.50) full of chocolate and rice crispies.

Then to finish it off is the chocolate wand. I have the Voldemort wand* (£9.80) but there’s also Harry, Hermoine, Dumbledore and so many more. A great treat for any fan.Gloves

One of the more expensive items on this guide is also one of the most practical. With the weather plummeting in the UK and snow threatening us at every turn a good pair of gloves is a must. These Camilo Twisted Yarn Gloves in Pinot Wine* (£12) not only look great but they’re comfortable and warm. Everything you need in a good pair of gloves.

They have ribbed cuffs at the top so they’re comfortable around the wrist, but they also stop any cold air getting inside. The contrasting colours stand out as well and that reddy Burgandy to me is my favourite Autumn/ Winter colour.

personalised marmite

You either love it or hate it, but if y0u know someone in the love Marmite camp then a personalised jar is a great stocking filler. The Personalised Marmite Jar*(£11.99) can have any name up to 11 characters added to the front. As you can see I got mine simply for my mum as she’s a huge fan of the spread. Me however I’m firmly in the hate category. So family arguments may start over this gift.

But I know my mum will love having this out on the breakfast table over Christmas. And spreading over a slice of toast when Christmas is over.

Vinyl placemats

Sometimes stocking gifts can be both practical and novelty like these Vinyl Placemats* (£9.99). The pack comes in a set of 4 and each one has a unique record label on them so they’re great for any music lover.

I’d been looking for placemats for when we move and these appeal to both mine and Luke’s taste. But they’re also very practical as they wipe clean so spills and mess are absolutely fine. And they’re easy to store as they come in their own LP sleeve to look just like the real thing.

evolve beauty stocking filler

Next up are a few more pampering gifts perfect for any special lady. This Hydrate Stocking Filler* (£12) comes from one of my favourite brands Evolve. What comes inside is a hydrating Hyaluronic Serum which will help keep your skin looking beautiful over the festive period.

Hyaluronic Acid is very hydrating as it can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. This is why you see it so commonly placed in moisturisers. Evolve use a lower molecular weight of the acid so it penetrates deeper. The acid helps to improve your skin tone, help your skin look younger and reduce wrinkles.

Olay glow stick face mask

Next up is this Olay Clay Stick Mask in Glow Boost* (£12.99) made with white charcoal. I’d not seen a lot of stick masks before, but they’re so great as they take the mess out of putting on a face mask. Great for travel, or just those nights when you want something quick and easy.

The white charcoal will remove the buildup of dead skin cells to make room for healthy new ones. This will reveal your skin’s natural glow, hence the name ‘Glow Boost’ to give you an all-over natural glow. I’d love this as one of my stocking fillers.

Mad beauty bath salts

The final pampering item is this set of Disney Mary Poppins Bath Salts* (£6.99) ready to help you have a pamper in the bath. The bath salts come from Mad Beauty who do a great range of Disney pampering goodies. So if you know anyone who is a Disney fan then check out what else they have on offer.

These are the spoonful of sugar bath salts to help make the bath time fun. There’s a slightly sweet scent to them but it’s not overpowering so it’s a nice lingering smell for when you’re in the bath. This would work great in a little collection with some bubble bath or a bath bomb. But also works great on its own.

Whittards chocolate espresso beans

Indulgent chocolates are a definite for stocking fillers and these milk, dark & white chocolate coated espresso beans* (£7) are a sure-fire winner. My dad is a massive fan of chocolate-covered coffee beans he’s going to love this triple chocolate set. I love sets which include milk, dark & white chocolate as it gives you the best of all worlds regardless of your preference. And the beans come in this stunning bauble which you can re-use afterwards to fill up or put on your tree.

Mini glass christmas tree ornaments

The final thing I’ve got in my stocking fillers guide are these amazing Christmas tree ornaments. You have two options with these, you can either give them as a gift in advance of Christmas. Or give them at Christmas so they can be put on the tree and then kept for future years.

There are four different designs of these painted wine glasses and each one is hand-painted. Visions of reindeer* (£12) is a beautiful gold and white painted glass with reindeers all over. There’s no such thing as too much glitter at Christmas time which may be why I love this ornament so much. Singing in the snow* (£12) is more traditionally Christmassy with snowmen all over. It even features some stones set around it as the snowmen burst into song.

The ornaments themselves are amazing quality and modelled after larger versions of the wine glasses themselves.

Great ideas! I love filling stockings for my two little ones but always find stockings gifts the most tricky to find! I know my kids would love the Harry Potter stuff though and I always try to include a pair of fluffy socks which they wear when opening the rest of the presents in the morning!
