The Best Fitting Pair Of Jeans For Under £20

Me in Vienna

I am a jeans obsessive, I wear them pretty much everyday and haven’t worn much other than a skinny leg for about 15 years. Within that time I’ve tried a heck of a lot of pairs of jeans from loads of different brands. There was a point when I was obsessed with the high rise skinnies from New York. There was a point when it was the Ridley jeans from ASOS. But for over 18 months I’ve been obsessed with the same pair of jeans. Although I do now own more than one single pair. And that’s the Ivy Skinny Jeans from Marks and Spencer.

Going back a few years I’d never have thought to look in M&S for clothes. It was somewhere my mum and nan shopped so surely there wouldn’t be anything I’d like. But gradually over time I found things I liked and came to realise Marks and Spencer has a great womanswear department. While I was there one time I thought I’d try on a pair of their Ivy Jeans. Mainly because it’s about one of the only places I can try a Size 20 on instore. For most places their plus/ curve sections with sizes over an 18 are online only. For this I can only praise Marks and Spencer.

From the moment I pulled on the Ivy Skinny Jeans it was pure love. Even though they’re not billed as high-waisted they pull over my stomach and leave me feeling secure. And because they’re not high waisted I’m not restricted or feeling like I’m being pulled in uncomfortably. They have a good amount of stretch on them to make them comfortable and easy to put on and take off. But they’re not so stretchy that they’ve lost shape. I’ve had some jeans before where after a few months of wear they’re so baggy on the waist due to the stretch. But even after over a year of constant wear they fit just as they did when I bought them.

Like a lot of places they do three lengths; short, medium and large. And range from a size 6 to a size 24 which is an amazing breath of sizes. And thankfully they do a lot of colour ranges from the standard blues and blacks to a grey, white and two khaki’s. So I can now buy my favourite jeans in a whole load of colours so I’m not wearing the same pair every single day.

Best value pair of jeans

On top of all the great things about their fit and the selection of sizes and colours they are only £19.50. When I bought them I assumed that due to the price point they wouldn’t last that long, but they really have. I must have washed these 30-40+ times and they still look good. Normally where jeans go for me is between the very tops of my legs where they rub when I walk. But there’s no thining of the material despite so much wear.

These look great, I really find it hard to make skinny jeans fit me, I am super tiny and they just end up either too long or baggy. Topshop does the petite sizes which is great but price wise is a sting!

    • Rhian Westbury says:

I wonder if the shorter ones from M&S are short enough to class as petite?! Yeah Topshop jeans are good but quite pricey x

I’ve heard great things about these jeans and yet I never think to go to M&S when I need d a new pair! They look really flattering x

I’d have never thought about going there before but now I can’t stop. It might be my age now but I’ve found so many items I love there x

Wow, they are a great price. My favourite jeans are also M&S but they don’t do the style anymore, so I’ll chekc out these ivy ones. Thanks, Mich x

I haven’t worn jeans in years because I just can’t find the right pair for me. I think I might have to head into Marks and Spencer!

These sound great, my 16 year old daughter always struggles to find jeans she will wear, she loves high waisted but not the restriction of them, I never thought to look min M&S.

I wear M&S Ivy skinny jeans! They are so comfortable and as I am quite curvy, I find the stretchiness is ideal for my figure.

    • Rhian Westbury says:

I 100% agree. The stretchiness is great but they don’t stretch over time and become too big like some brands x

Yay!! Glad you found your pair of jeans . I searched for year for my pair that fit like a glove and only buy the top shop ones 🙂

I love the M&S Jeggings range, practical, available in different leg lengths and colours too. I’ve not looked at their actual range of jeans but I’ll have to try on the Ivy jeans.

I like clothes shopping at M&S. I also always think it’s mainly for older women and tell no one about it

Wow, they seem to have laste well. 30-40 washes is a fair few and to still be in good condition speaks loads. Great price for a good quality pair of jeans that’s for sure!

I have a great love to M&S clothing and do own a pair of these gyms, I often buy tops, tights and jeans from them than other places.

  12. Emma says:

They look fantastic, I do love M and S for comfy jeans, there’s no where better! I love their underwear too.

Oooh these sound fab, I love my skinny jeans but have really struggled to find a pair that fit well the last couple of years.
