Bathroom Storage Options For Larger And Small Spaces

Just the words storage and organisation make me pretty excited and happy. I think it’s what turning 30 does to you. Bathroom storage, kitchen storage, wardrobe storage; it all fills me with joy.

As soon as we got our house I wanted to maximize all of the storage spots and get baskets, boxes, and everything else to utilise the space. We’re quite lucky to have a reasonable amount of storage space with a cabinet under our sink and a small one between that and our toilet. Plus we have the huge bathroom cabinet of dreams. Here are a few of the bathroom storage options we have, and some options if you’re low on space.

Under the sink bathroom storage boxes

Whether you’ve got a freestanding sink or an inbuilt basin chances are you’ll have under sink storage. If you don’t then think about buying a cabinet to fit around your sink or even just some shelves for bathroom storage. We have two shelves in our under sink cupboard but without the proper storage solutions, we definitely wouldn’t have fit as much in.

For us, these wham plastic baskets fit perfectly into the space. And they even did a super shallow one to sit under the pipe which worked so well. The most important thing is to measure the space you have well to get the right boxes. Don’t go for ones that are full width and depth, give yourself a little space to allow the hinges to move when you open and close the cabinets. And don’t go full height otherwise you may struggle to get the boxes out.

Once we have the right sized bathroom storage boxes try and organise your stuff into categories to make things easier to find. While I haven’t yet labeled them I have a box for dental, a box for shaving, a box for haircare, etc. And the shallow box fits sheet masks in it perfectly.

Triple shelved shower caddy

In shower storage

If you’re lucky enough to have shelves built into the walls around your shower or bath then I envy you. It’s something I’d love to do when we’re designing our main bathroom. It’s always nice to have all of your products close by. I always find I’m way more likely to use a scalp scrub or a hair mask if it’s right there. We went for this triple-shelved caddy which was under £20 and we drilled it into the tiles to keep it secure.

If you’re renting or unable to drill into the walls look for things that can hook over your shower. Or anything with good suction or sticky cups on them. Good bathroom storage works for what you have so get something that will make accessing your products easy.

Bathroom storage options if you don’t have much space

If you have a bathroom that is tight on size then you’ll want to utilise everything you’ve got. Add some shelves to the walls to store bottles and products on it if you don’t have much storage space. You can make it look nicer by using boxes and baskets on the shelves, and it will stop it from looking cluttered.

Make the most of any window sill you may have by adding baskets/ boxes on here as well. If your space has a bath then think about getting a wooden bath tray where you can keep little items like candles and bath products.

If you have a mirror on the wall, think about changing it into a mirrored cabinet. There are loads of inexpensive options that can add hidden storage to your room. Plus mirrors will make the space seem bigger than it is.

We have a mirrored medicine cabinet. Under the sink is a bit chaotic, I could stand to clean it out and organize with some baskets like these.

We currently have under the sink storage – which is a total mess – and in shower storage which is a bit more organised!

Some great ideas here, we do have a cupboard in the bathroom but everything is thrown in, so having organised storage such as yours is a great idea

We have one of those corner shelves and it is really handy and takes up hardly any space!

We don’t have a lot of storage space in our bathroom ever though its quite big. I am hoping to get something fitted inside our shower to make it look a little neater

My bathroom is quite small but like you suggest I’ve use boxes (in the old airing cupboard) for excellent utilisation of the space.

We have two cupboards in our bathroom but still don’t have enough storage, I like the shower tidy

Love these ideas . We have no space in our bathroom and struggle with storage that doesn’t look cluttered

Some great ideas here. My bathroom gets cluttered because I buy replacement products before the old ones are finished and then start using the new ones immediately! It’s a bad habit, I know, so I need to be a bit more ruthless about throwing things out even if they aren’t completely empty.

I love those boxes you’ve used under the sink and to be honest, I always just think of under the sink as somewhere I store the cleaning products. Mich x

I have always found bathroom storage a nightmare, when we did our bathroom we got an under sink unit and it hides so much
