A Look Into My Bathroom Cabinet- What’s Worth The Price

You may have already seen the main image here if you’ve read my en-suite reveal. But I thought I’d look a bit more in-depth into my bathroom cabinet and the products I own. I won’t talk about absolutely everything but I’ll run down the main areas in my bathroom cabinet and my favourite products within them that are worth the price. There’s a lot in this cabinet I will admit but I like having plenty of options and being able to see what I’ve got. Although I am embarrassed to say this is nowhere near the extent of my skincare collection. Yes, I do have a bit of a problem.

The top shelf of my bathroom cabinet is mainly taken up by the everyday products in my AM and PM routine alongside some tools and our toothbrush. Then as you move down there are some occasional use products, masks, and more tools/ accessories. Now I have two sets I only use reusable bamboo cotton pads so I have those in a box in my bathroom cabinet. Alongside some dental bits. But let’s jump straight into some of the products.

My AM routine

I tend to stick to all of the same products in my AM routine unless something runs out. And looking at what I’m currently using very little in my routine would be deemed ‘expensive’ or ‘luxury’. In fact, most are drugstore and I’ve finally found a few brands which do that well.

I’ve used the Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner a few times before and I’m so happy it’s back in my routine now as my skin feels so nourished afterwards but thoroughly cleansed. It’s refreshing, hydrating and a steal at just £8.50 for a bottle. Another product I love for the morning is the Inky List Caffeine Eye Cream. It’s taken me a while to get into a routine with eye creams, but they one has helped reduce puffiness and dark circles. So I’m totally on board and it’s only £8.99! That’s one of the things I love about The Inky List as a brand and I have quite a few of their products in my bathroom cabinet.

The final part of my AM routine which I absolutely the Hyaluronic Essence Spray from Revolution Skincare. Earlier in the year, I did a deeper delve into some of the Revolution Skincare products and this has been a standout for me. This is in my bathroom cabinet to use both during my AM and PM routine. Hyaluronic Acid is great for hydration and something most of us should be using more of. I like to layer this spray between some of the layers in my routine to help my skin retain moisture. Plus it smells incredible as it contains grapefruit extract. And this essence spray is a steal at just £6!

My bathroom cabinet- My PM routine

My PM routine does change quite a bit as I tend to rotate acids/ serums that I use in my bathroom cabinet. And I don’t use retinol every single day but there are some standouts that I love. I have raved about the Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Cleanser before and it’s still standing strong. £31 may seem a little pricy for a cleanser but the one I have has lasted a really good amount of time and I love how it makes my skin feel. It’s full of blueberries which are antioxidants so it leaves my skin feeling fresh and hydrated. I’m much more of a gel/ lotion cleanser fan as opposed to a balm. So if you’re like me this is one for you. Plus the blueberry scent is refreshing but not overpowering.

The other part of my PM routine which is 100% worth the price is the Kiehls Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence. This is what I use in the traditional ‘toner’ point of my routine so after cleansing before serums/ acids. The Iris range has some anti-ageing properties which seeing as I’m now 30 I’m all over. I have noticed that the redness on my cheeks has reduced slightly since using this. So I can instantly tell that it’s super hydrating from this and for me, that’s worth the £35 price point.

All of the masks

The other main part of my bathroom cabinet is my masks and items I don’t use every day. For me, if I have as much as I can out and in view, I’m way more likely to use it. And if these were hidden away I definitely wouldn’t use masks as much. A lot of the masks I have are travel-sized or mini’s as I find this best for me to try them out and see what works for me before investing in the full sizes. Some of my favourites which are well worth the price are the Summer Friday Jet Lag Mask which is so incredibly hydrating. Sometimes I use this as a wipe-off mask, but sometimes I use it as a thick sleep mask and leave it to sink into my skin overnight. I have the full size of this mask which comes in at £42, but you can get a travel size for £22.50 if you want to try it.

The next mask I love is the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask. I bought this in a set of five mini masks from Peter Thomas Roth and they’ve lasted a really good amount of time. This is thankful as the full size is a spendy £50. But because you wouldn’t use it all the time it would last forever. As an Enzyme Mask, it exfoliates, peels, and polishes the skin so I only use this at most once a week but I find my skin feels so fresh afterwards. It’s triple action and is designed to combat full, ageing, and congested skin so it’s an all-rounder.

The final mask that I absolutely love would be the Glamglow Gravity Mud Mask. I finished my full-sized a while back (£44) so am currently using a mini version of it. This is the mask I use when I don’t necessarily feel congested but I want to firm up my skin and make it feel more subtle. Plus it’s one of the best peel-off masks so it’s very satisfying to peel off afterwards.

My bathroom cabinet- Everything else

Alongside my masks which aren’t ‘everyday’ use, I have a few other bits I don’t use every day like glycolic pads. At the moment I have both the Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Pads, although I don’t use them every day. I find these great for keeping the texture of my skin looking good. And at £10-20 for a pack depending on the size, I do think they’re well worth the price point.

I do also have Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel although these will not be used daily as they’re very spendy. £18 will get you a 5 pack and the larger packs are eye-watering, but I find using them every 1-2 weeks still makes a huge difference on my skin. There’s a reason they’re so much more expensive as they’re really good at almost giving your skin a fresh slate.

The other thing in my bathroom cabinet that I love is the Fresh Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash. This is exfoliating enough to keep my skin clear and looking fresh. But not so extreme that I can’t use it very regularly. I tend to reach for this 2-3 times a week to give my face a good scrub. I’ve had the travel size one which is just £12 for quite a while. But I will spend the £26 to get the larger one when this runs out.
