AD- Items in this gift guide have been provided in exchange for inclusion but all thoughts and opinions are my own

Happy 1st November to you all. Can you believe that we’re in the final two months of the year now?! Halloween is officially over –  even though the aesthetic for me is all year round – and Christmas is next on the agenda. The next gift guide instalment is all about gifts for the home.

There seems to be that unwritten rule that as soon as you turn 30 all you want are home-based presents. Things to make your living space cosier and more fun to be in. Or maybe it’s just me?! I love getting homey gifts, and I love giving them. If you’re anything like me this gift guide is for you.

Pet treat jar

Presents for those with pets

Now whether you want to buy a present for pets themselves, or you know a pet lover who loves getting gifts designed for them and their pet this personalised pet treats glass jar* (£16.99) is a great addition. As we’ve done you can personalise the jar with both the year and your pets names. This is our first Christmas with the kittens so we all know they’re going to get spoilt with presents.  But this gift is as much for us as it is for them as I love organised pretty looking cupboards. But all they’re concerned about are the treats inside.

The jar is beautiful quality and it comes with a bamboo lid so that treats inside stay fresh.

First time gardener book

Home gift guide- For the wannabe gardener

I am the prime candidate for ‘wannabe gardener’. I love the idea of getting my hands dirty and growing beautiful plants and having a well-manicured garden, but I have no idea where to start. This First Time Gardener: Growing Plants and Flowers* (£14.99) book would be a great place to start for any newbie like me. The book has been written by Sean and Allison McManus who are gardening pros and have a website and podcast called ‘Spoken Garden’

There’s so much useful knowledge inside including selecting plants, planting techniques, pruning do’s and don’ts, how to keep out weeds, recognising pests and so much more. Plus the book is full with beautiful colour pictures throughout.

Burgundy sports leggings

Gifts for those still exercising at home

The lockdowns over the past 18 months meant a lot more of us were exercising at home. And a lot of our habits changed because of this, mine including after getting the Peloton bike. Good quality exercise clothing is really important and can make a difference in how your workout feels. And whether you’re working out at home or you’re back to the gym, the Love Leggings Cropped Sports Leggings* (£30) would make a great workout treat.

One thing I really appreciate about Love Leggings is their inclusive size range. As someone plus-sized I end up having to rule out loads of stores because their sizes simply don’t go up large enough. And when is an XXL a size 14 really?! But Love Leggings go up to a size 28 which is much better than most. Plus they come in a whole selection of colours as well including pink and black.

These particular ones are designed to maximise flexibility and give you plenty of movement in them so they’re great for things like yoga. I’ve been using them on the bike and they’re so comfortable with the right level of control, plus they don’t ride down around my stomach. I’ve also been doing strength and stretching classes which the leggings have been great for as well.

Massage Gun

For those who want a relaxing massage

I have seen these massage guns everywhere over the past few years and that’s because it’s such a great gift idea. The Pro Physio Massage Gun* (£299.99) from Homedics is a rechargeable, lightweight and cordless massage gun that comes with six interchangeable heads. The massage gun can be used before or after working out to ease the muscles, but it’s also great for a really focused and targeted massaged. Plus if you know someone who does a lot of exercise, races, cycling trails etc this is great as it can easily be used on the move and the set comes in a protective storage case

There are three intensity levels with six different heads to choose from. You can use the Tru Heat Technology which heats up to 47⁰C in under 2 minutes. This will open up the blood vessels promoting blood flow and will help with discomfort in the muscles and joints, and provide relief. There’s a cool gel head that you can freeze for 4hrs for a post workout cool down. Now I exercise quite regularly but I wouldn’t say I do anything intense, but that doesn’t stop the massage gun from being an incredible asset. Say goodbye to tight knots and discomfort when you have the Pro Physio Massage Gun.

Bath house reed diffuser

Gift guide for luxury home scents

To me, nothing says luxury like a really good quality reed diffuser. And that’s where this Winter Gardens diffuser* (£52) from Bath House comes in. The design and packaging just scream quality which comes from the passion the founders have for art and design. Founded in 1997 The Bath House brought their love for art, design and poetry into the form of fragrances and skincare. And all of the items they create come in artisan glass bottles which makes it all feel so luxurious.

The Winter Gardens scent was inspired by a visit to the Morecambe Winter Gardens Theatre with a mixture of rose and florals mixed with lemon and mandarin and finished with sandalwood and patchouli. It’s a scent that will fill the room without being too overpowering. And £1 from every sale of the diffuser is being donated towards the restoration of the Morecambe Winter Gardens.

The brand doesn’t just do home fragrances, they have bath and body care products. And the Bamboo & Jasmine mini kit* (£28) is a great way to try lots of the products. The set comes with four 60ml bottles which are great as a tester but also to travel with. There’s a bath soak to use when relaxing in the bath. A hair and body wash with accompanying conditioner for a full body and hair cleanse. And then when you’re done there is a light and hydrating body lotion to round it off.

You can also buy refill pouches of the products to top up the bottles time and time again.

Bee house

Gift ideas for the outdoorsy type

My dad loves his garden and preserving the wildlife out in the garden. So this little bee house* (10Euro) is going to be great for him, but also great for the wildlife in his garden. This little house is a way of inviting bees to relax and provides them with a safe space to live while they pollinate plants and do lots of good work.

As well as being practical and good for the environment the little bee house looks really nice as well and will make a great addition to any garden. You can hang it with the post and see what visitors you get.
