Ten Gifts For The Men In Your Life – Christmas 2022

F1 book

AD- Items in this gifts for the men in your life guide have been provided in exchange for inclusion but all thoughts and opinions are my own

A few weeks ago, I posted a gift guide for her, and now I’m back with gifts for the men in your life. It’s less than six weeks until Christmas, which is mind-blowing. This year is a bit harder not just because stuff is more expensive but because there are a lot of postage strikes. So anything you want to order needs to be done as early as possible.

I find some men easy to buy for and others much harder. But hopefully, these ten gifts will give you a bit of inspiration to make gift-giving that bit easier.

For anyone into Formula 1

We are massive F1 fans in our household, so I’m equally as excited with F1-based gifts as Luke is. The sport has seen a bit of a resurgence since the Netflix show ‘Drive to Survive’ which has encouraged more people to watch. And I will admit the show got us both back into the sport. The F1 the pinnacle book* (£36) would be a great gift for any fan of the sport.

The book tells the story of how the sport has evolved into the spectacle it is today. And it’s super up to date, including the new rules introduced in 2022 and the technical changes aimed at levelling the playing field for more teams.

The book itself is beautiful and full of photos documenting some of the most significant changes to the sport since its inception in 1950.

Lyle and Scott polo

Gifts for the men in your life that don’t buy clothes for themselves

Until very recently I had no idea that Yours Clothing did men’s clothes. But they do! They have their own range called Bad Rhino, but they also have a whole load of brands in inclusive larger sizes for men.

I think polo shirts are a great item of clothing for guys to have as they can be dressed up with chinos or down with jeans. And this Lyle and Scott olive green polo* (£44.99) is a nice option.

It has a button-up collar and short sleeves, plus it is made from a soft cotton blend.

Jack Jones shirt

If a polo shirt isn’t quite right for the man you’re buying for then you can’t go wrong with this Jack Jones burgundy red check shirt* (£24.99). I think a good checked shirt is a staple must-have in a man’s wardrobe.

This one is from the big and tall range, perfect for someone who needs the extra length or a more comfortable fit. It’s 100% cotton, but not super thick like some checked shirts can be. So this won’t be too warm to wear in the Spring months too.

DKNY loungepants

Gifts for the men in your life that like to be comfy

Loungewear is essential. You need some super comfy clothes that you can wear around the house but will still look fine if the doorbell goes and you have to say hi to the postman.

For something a little indulgent, this pair of DKNY lounge pants* (£55) are a great mixture of comfort and style. They’re a nice grey colour, so they can be worn with any top, and the cuffed bottoms are really smart looking. I only tend to wear cuffed bottoms because then the cold air doesn’t get in, but also my cats can’t play with them!

Cotton traders purple checked shirt

Gifts for the stylist man in your life

I love a checked shirt so much I’m back with another one in this beautiful dark heather colour.

The flannel checked shirt* (£33) from Cotton Traders is made from soft brushed cotton flannel so its really cosy and soft to touch.

It’s the type of shirt that you can dress up or dress down, with a classic look with button-down collar and patch pocket. Whether that’s unbuttoned over a t-shirt or with a pair of chinos for a smarter look.

Foldable rucksack

For anyone who loves to travel

This tiny little package is actually a foldable backpack* (£59) which is pretty genius if you ask me.

Once unfolded, the bag has enough room in it for any adventures or to use as hand luggage if you buy too much when you’re away. It has a large main compartment, a deep outer pocket with a zipper and a inner pocket for security. It’s water resistant, so a great option if you know someone who loves the outdoors. Perhaps they love a hike and want to carry around snacks and layers. Or maybe they’re a gym goer and want something to fit in all their essentials. Or maybe they’re like me and just love to go shopping so need the space to carry hands-free!

It comes with adjustable straps, a detachable tag and a few different colour options.

Marley mini speaker

Gifts for the men in your life that love tech

We’re big fans of The House of Marley in our household, and both of our everyday earbuds are from the brand. But today, I wanted to speak about the get together 2 mini bluetooth speaker* (£149.99).

The speaker itself is compact and easy to carry around, so perfect for travelling or anything outdoors. And for such a small speaker, it has such a great sound, especially the bass sound. We didn’t even have the speaker on full volume, and it was enough to provide music while Luke was doing some DIY in the garage.

It has an impressive 15 hours of playtime and a 30-metre Bluetooth range. And one of the things I love most about House of Marley is that it’s made from sustainable materials. The items also come with 100% plastic-free and recyclable packaging.

Car mount for your phone

Phone gadgets and gizmos

Mobile phones are just part of everyday life now, and whether you like it or not, they’re essential for most of us. Even though we have a sat nav built into our car we prefer Apple Maps. So regularly will use our phones in the car for directions. So the CLCKR car mount for air vent* (£14.99) has come at a perfect time.

It can only be used alongside the CLCKR Universal Stand and Grip. And the 2-part mount will fit most car air vents.  It comes with a small magnetic silver clip which slides onto your CLCKR Stand & Grip, allowing you to magnetically connect to the air vent attachment.

The clip is really sleek and can be removed when you’re not using it.

Magpod

More phone based gifts for the men in your life

The STM Goods Magpod* (£44.95) is a great multi-use stand and handle for your phone. You can place it anywhere hands-free so you can watch YouTube, have a video call or just browse.

Luke uses his mainly on his bedside table so he can watch videos when he’s in bed without having to hold it. And the magnetic disc allows the phone to swivel and pivot to get the best viewing angle.

The MagPod legs can be used as a tripod to keep your phone in position. And it can be retracted to use as a handle for taking photos or videos.

Space pen

A pen that can write anywhere on anything

I love stationary, but it takes a lot to blow me away. So when I saw the Fisher Space bullet pen* (£34.96) that claimed to write on almost any surface in even extreme temperatures, I was intrigued.

The space pen (otherwise known as the bullet) is a really smart, classic designed pen made from tungsten carbide. The way it works is really clever because the thixotropic ink is sealed and pressurized. This enables the pen to write for three times longer than a standard ballpoint pen. It’s said to be able to write at any angle – even upside down, in extreme temperatures from -20ºC to +200ºC, underwater, on wet paper, over grease and even in the gravity-free vacuum of space.

Sadly I couldn’t test all of these out, but the few I could, I did. And yes, it can write upside down and on wet, greasy paper. It even worked underwater which was a novel one to try. So call me impressed!

The pen comes in a lovely gift box with a little torch complete with key lead and battery. You can even choose to get the pen engraved for that added personal touch.

Motor oil tool kit

Gifts for the men in your life that do DIY

Every household needs a DIY kit. And there’s only one thing better than a household essential, a household essential in novelty casing.

The Kikkerland oil jug tool kit* (£19.99) is a 16-piece kit including a voltage tester, pliers, hex key, handle, 2 precision screwdrivers, 1 Phillips head, 1 flathead and 10 screwdriver bits. And the items are all housed in a hard-wearing oil can style case.
