Gift Ideas To Celebrate Mother’s Day 2022

March 7, 2022
Little butterfly goodies

I probably sound like a bit of a broken record, but how is it March already?! How am I doing my Mother’s Day posts already?! It feels like the never ending month of January was just yesterday. But March is such a lovely month because Spring should start to break free, although who knows with the weather we’ve had recently. The clocks change at the end of the month so it gets brighter *yay*. And for me it’s celebrations galore as it’s both Luke and my mum’s birthday on top of Mother’s Day.

Whether you’re celebrating your mum, a mum like figure or someone who has helped raise you, it’s a good excuse to show someone how much you love them. A few weeks ago I talked about some personalised photo gift ideas, and here are some more.

Little butterfly goodies

For New Mum’s

Mother’s Day for new mums must be super exciting as it’s a day you’ve previously celebrated for others, but now it’s your turn. And it’s a chance to get something for yourself. Maybe you’ve been gifted a lie in. Or perhaps a pamper morning to yourself while your other half takes care of the kids.

This pamper gift box* (£85) from Little Butterfly is a great way for mums to take a bit of time for themselves. The set comes with a stretch mark butter, toning body serum, cooling leg gel and a soft washcloth. All items that a new mum can pamper herself with, but they’re also completely safe and gentle to use.

The stretch mark cream has been designed with hydration, protection and nourishment to help skin bounce back. It boosts elasticity and supplements, strengthens the skins firmness and supports weakened skin. The body serum is a bit of an all rounder. It’s designed to help hydrate, promote collagen production, stimulate circulation, restore elasticity in the skin and help smooth the skins texture. And the cooling leg gel brings comfort to aching muscles and alleviates puffiness while also moisturing.

The set comes in a beautiful keep-sake gift box which makes it a fantastic gift for any new mum. (or as a treat for yourself!)

Cotton joes skirt

For the fashionista mum on Mother’s Day

If like me you have a mum who loves her clothes then that could be a great way to treat her for Mother’s Day.

The first thing I have is this beautiful jersey midi skirt* (£36) from Cotton Traders which comes in a really good range of sizes to cater for more than your traditional mid sizes.  The skirt itself is made from soft and stretchy material with an elasticated waist so it’s super comfortable for everyday wear. I don’t know about you but when I’m working from home I don’t want anything restrictive on. But sometimes I want to feel nicer and wear a skirt which is is perfect for.

Owl bag

Then I also picked out this owl cross body bag* (£18) for my auntie this time. I always like to get a little present for both my nan and auntie as they have played such a huge part in my life. The bag itself is a good size for everyday use with a secure zip top fastening. It also has an adjustable cross body shoulder strap. The design itself is really cute with the moon and stars alongside the owl, but it’s not too in your face.

Love Leggings jeggings

For the mum who loves to be comfy

Love Leggings have featured quite a lot on this blog as I am a little bit obsessed with them. I’ve got leggings, sports leggings and joggers, but this time I wanted to talk about their jeggings* (£28). You know those days when you want to wear jeans but you don’t want the restricted waist band? Jeggings are the answer.

This particular pair are high rise so will sit over the belly, and they’re skinny fit so give the illusion of a beautiful pair of jeans. They’re made with soft, 4-way stretch, cotton-blended fabric so you can be comfortable and no one will know the difference. I’ve been living in mine when I’ve been working from home so want the comfort, but want to feel like I’ve gotten out of my PJ’s.

There’s a whole choice of colours to go for. And one of the best thing about Love Leggings is the size availability as they offer sizes 6-28.

Joma jewellery mothers day box

A bit of bling for Mother’s Day

My mum is jewellery obsessed, so it wouldn’t be Mother’s Day without some bling on the list. First up is this Happy Mother’s Day box* (£39.99) which features three silver-plated bracelets that sit together as a beautiful set. Each of the bracelets are elasticated so there are so fiddly clasps to worry about. One is filled with dainty hearts, one has an engraved band saying ‘Wonderful Mum’ and the other has a hanging heart. The three bracelets look beautiful together, or they can be worn individually.

Joma jewellery blue bracelet

The Little Family Forever bracelet* (£18.99) comes from the brands colour pop range with beautiful beaded bracelets. This one has deep blue coloured stones in between silver plated beads and a disc charm in the centre. And it sits on a ‘Forever Family’ card stamped with a lovely poem. There are designs and styles for all occasions whatever you’re celebrating, or just as a treat.

Joma Jewellery started in 2008 when founders Katie and Geoff Loxton discovered beautiful unique jewellery on their travels. They were drawn in by the semi-precious stones and silver beads so began a journey to create their own jewellery brand with accessible luxury and quality that was fixed with sentiment. One of the things that did stand out to me was how beautifully everything was wrapped and presented. From the packaging of the items themselves through to the gift bag that came with the order.

Clay jewellery kit

For the crafty mum

I love giving crafty presents as there’s an element of mindfulness to creating something where you can enjoy the creation process, but also the finished product.

The Polymer Clay Jewellery Kit* (£25) includes everything you need to make your own clay jewellery in both earring and necklace form. There are six different colours of polymeric clay to choose from so every creation will be unique. Although I absolutely love the triple drop design on the packaging and would end up 100% trying to recreate that myself.

Freshly cosmetics body oil

A bit of pampering on Mother’s Day

The Smooth Body Pack* (£48) from Freshly Cosmetics includes a duo of products to help you pamper your body. The body oil and body serum set will help hydrate your skin super quickly, they smell amazing and they’re vegan friendly. Both items sink really quickly into the skin with the Radiance Body Oil designed to help reduce cellulite and help with water retention.

The body serum is the one I’ve been using more of as it’s great for post-workouts. And what’s more relaxing after a workout than pampering your body. The serum helps with water retention as well but is also designed to improve circulation and  tighten and smooth skin. If nothing else the act of sitting down for 5 mins after a post-workout shower and using the serum is massively therapeutic. But my skin also feels hydrated and softer.

Plant

For the green-fingered mum

Ever since we moved into our house I have become a little plant obsessed. And it wasn’t until this point that I truly appreciated how amazing my mum has been keeping plants alive my whole life. It’s not easy is it?! Gardening or plant based gifts go down really well in my family and this Calathea White Star houseplant* (£18.99) would make a stunning gift. This plant is sometimes known as the Zebra Plant or Majestic Prayer Plant. And firstly I’m sure you’ll agree quite how beautiful this plant is with it’s multi-hued leaves.

And secondly for a stunning plant of this kind of size I was really impressed with the price. It comes in a plastic planter around 14cm with an approx 30-40cm height. But it can grow much bigger than that during it’s life. Considering that this plant was posted the packaging was amazing. It looked just as good when it arrived as if I’d picked it up at a garden centre. Although sadly for my mum I’ll be keeping this particular one.

Guylian chocolates

Mother’s Day wouldn’t be complete without some chocolate

It wouldn’t be Mother’s Day without some chocolate would there?! And Guylian are always a great go to. The Masters Collection* (£8) is a great way to try loads of different flavours from caramel pineapple and raspberry to hazelnut praline and chocomousse. I don’t think I’ve seen a box with this level of variety and some quite unusual flavours.

The hardest part for your mum when opening these will be whether to share or keep them for herself.

These are great gift ideas for Mother’s day. I like that you categorized them based on the mom’s interest. I would definitely go for the pampering option, everyone deserves a little me time during these hard days we are going through.
