The Last Days Of Sunshine And A Week Of Relaxation – September 2023 Overview

Happy October everyone, it’s time for my favourite time of the year. Although how September 2023 is over I have no idea.

ooking back on my month it was actually a pretty chilled one which is good as the next few months are going to start getting very busy. I’ve made a conscious effort to stay in a bit more and not be on the go all of the time.

A week of relaxation in September 2023

Me and Luke headed to Portugal for a week with his family in the middle of the month and I didn’t realise how much I needed a relaxing break until we got there. Over the week I didn’t do all that much other than read, swim and just relax. And it was perfect! I got through seven books across the trip which I’m very happy about, and I even got a bit of a tan (and a million bites).

We stayed in Villamora in the Algarve, but we could have been anywhere as apart from dinners and a boat trip we didn’t do too much. Getting back to reality afterwards was tough, but it always is after a holiday.

The best live music

During September 2023 I had two live shows. At the start of the month I headed to the O2 Arena to see Busted and it was incredible. I have been a Busted fan since I was a young teenager and seeing them back together again playing all the old songs was all sorts of feels. Me and my friend had the best time singing along to every song. It was so feel good.

And then near the end of the month I saw a band who are my new obsession; Loveless. This was only their second show in London and it was amazing. Hearing all the tracks I’ve been obsessed with this year was the best feeling. It’s been a long time since I’ve been this obsessed with a new band and I can’t wait to see what they do next.

Everything else in September 2023

We’ve made a start on some house bits over the last month including to our garage. Over the last weekend of September we had a new door fitted from our garage to our garden which means the next steps of the garage renovation can start. We had a massive Selco order come with everything we need to finish the flooring, so hopefully I should have some more exciting updates soon.

Now it’s October I don’t feel guilty about using the C-world. Over September I spent a lot of time getting started on my Christmas gift guides which will start going live in the next few weeks. It feels quite mad to think that we’re at this point already, but equally quite exciting.

How was your September 2023? What did you get up to?

It’s still quite warm for October where we are, so we’re still going around like it’s summer. LOL.

Very jealous you got away, I feel I need a break to do nothing. I have been working on my gift guides and feel it is more acceptable to talk about them now

Looks like the ultimate getaway for a little R&R. Good food, music and company can do wonders for one’s soul. Also, looks like a productive month with the new garage door.

It sounds like you had the perfect week of relaxation in Portugal! ☀️ Reading, swimming, and soaking up the sun – that’s what vacation dreams are made of. ‍♀️✨ And seven books? Impressive! Those post-holiday blues are all too familiar, but the memories will keep you smiling.

Live and learn. I’ve never heard of Busted. But your story told me some fun facts about their music. I am glad you did something to soothe your soul.

Isn’t it often that way, that we don’t know how much we need a rest until we take some time to relax? I am glad that you took the trip and it sounds like it was wonderful!

Christmas has come really quickly this year! I am trying to keep Halloween in mind first, but am excited to get into the Christmas mood too. Sounds like you had an amazing September.

Can’t quite believe you read seven books whilst on holiday, I barely read one a month!

    • Rhian Westbury says:

Reading is my escape and my favourite thing to do so it’s always a priority for me. But holidays involve a lot more reading than anything else x
